Ocean & I are grateful for this low cost clinic! Make sure to arrive early before opening! Wait can be 1-3 hrs. Thanks to them for always helping and being kind :)

I've frequent this low cost vet locations for about 10 years and nothing has changed, which is a GOOD thing. All sorts of cats and dogs are seen here. Yes, you do see more pit bulls but all are on leashes, they have a back room for feisty dogs or people leave their dogs in their cars (w/ another human) and come in when it time for them to be seen. The prices are low and you do not feel like you are being over sold on a product. This place is not for everyone. It isn't aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. You'll most likely drive passed it or wouldn't think it's open. Today, I arrived at 10am and walked out at 10:45am. It is a hit and miss on how busy they are on Mondays. My visit was to take my poodle mix nephew/adopted son for an exam to diagnose a skin infection and blood mucus on his stool. Vet prescribed antibiotics and deworm med total cost $45. There are more low cost vet in the Houston area so glad to see they are still in operation.

We recently had to put our pet down and Dr Clive and everyone was very clear on explanations and compassionate during the unexpected rough time. Truly a great place with people who care about animals well being. If I get another pet I will 100% be bringing them back to be cared for at midtown.

I rarely saw the same tech twice. A friend highly recommended Midtown Vet and my 18 y/o boy had his first visit last week. Dr. Cline was very gentle with him, he has a lot of arthritic pain and needs more care handling than most. I was very impressed with the thorough exam, uncovering things that had been missed by my former vet. I have been to many, many vet practices over many years and I think we have found a new home. The clinic is a bit small, still building out in the new location, but clean and neat and comfortable. Soon they will have separate dog and cat areas which is almost a necessity for me. Dr. Clive was thorough, explained everything in detail, offered treatment/care options and was very compassionate and understanding. As someone else noted, they are not in the retail business, always pushing their products that can all be purchased elsewhere for less. Oh, and as a plus, I discovered that many of my favorite techs who disappeared from my prior clinic...are here at Midtown! We have found a home.

This one has been difficult to write…read more We've been taking our pups here for 5+ years and have nothing but positive remarks about the team, services and facility. About three weeks ago, we had to do the unimaginable. Our oldest pup had kidney failure and we had no choice but to let her go to sleep a final time. We called ahead so the team would be prepared. What I didn't expect was the professionalism, empathy and preparation we received. For starters, they have a private, separate entrance to accommodate the gravity of the situation. You enter into a room where you are given time to spend with your pup and family in these difficult final moments. Only when you're ready do you signal via a silent button for the vet and tech to come in. They explain the process and give you a little more time to say goodbye. After a final confirmation, the process begins and is over quickly. Throughout the process, the technician is stabilizing your pup and saying sweet words to them and us. We had the option to hold the pup ourselves but couldn't. When it was over, we were allowed to remain in the room by ourselves until we were ready to leave through the same private door. I thank Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic for their support, compassion and their private accommodations. I can't think of a more respectful way to handle such a difficult situation. A final comment, they have after death care services available as well.

A Diagnostic Virtuoso: The "Mozart" of Veterinary Medicine…read more As a retired Clinical Director who has spent a career hiring and evaluating medical professionals, I have an exceptionally high standard for clinical competence and professional integrity. For months, I searched for answers for my 123-pound gentle giant, Axel. I took him to several well-known clinics in Houston, but regrettably, they failed to find even the single mass I had discovered myself. They simply fumbled the opening statement. Then, I found Dr. Anna Parham at PetCare Express on Holcombe Boulevard. Dr. Parham is a true prodigy of her craft. While others relied on expensive overhead and corporate checklists, she used her hands and her clinical intuition--the soul of medicine that is clearly in her DNA. Within minutes, she identified three separate masses that the previous clinics had entirely missed. She performed a single FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) to confirm the nature of the primary mass, while her expert clinical touch immediately identified the others as typical, benign lipomas. She gave us the unremarkable exam result we had been searching for. From the moment we walked into PetCare Express, the entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. In a high-pressure field, their genuine caring and support created a seamless, stress-free environment for both me and my dog. Dr. Parham found in minutes what high-priced hospitals missed for months. She recognized a client who values quality and met that standard with an honest, transparent diagnosis. In a city of systemic predatory patterns, Dr. Anna Parham and the team at PetCare Express are a sanctuary of honesty. She is young, brilliant, and possesses a natural mastery of medicine that mirrors a virtuoso. Axel walked out a perfect patient, and I walked out knowing I have finally found the successor to the great legacy vets of Houston.
