Perfect! I ordered extra hollandaise and crispy hashbrowns! Ate everything. This is basic hollandaise done to perfection. Service was amazing. Well worth the stop.

Every thing in..one giant omelette!! And I thought only Texas had big omelettes! I guess not.

If you're ever in the area I highly recommend this place. Friendly, clean, calm and a cozy family atmosphere.

My husband and I stopped into Hovie's for a quick weekend breakfast and it was wonderful! The restaurant is smaller, but there were plenty of tables available so we were seated right away. Our waitress was very kind and quick to answer our questions. I ordered the Hash Brown O'Brien and my husband ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and 1 Buttermilk Pancake. The Hash Brown O'Brien was one of the best breakfast meals I've ever had! The portions were huge and delicious! The Buttermilk Pancake was massive and had just the right amount of sweetness. For a quick, delicious, and down-home breakfast meal in Eagan, make sure to check out Hovie's!

What an amazing hole in the wall! Service was beyond incredible and the classic diner food is exactly what I was hoping for. Just no thrills 5 star classic breakfast. Cannot go wrong here. They will take care of you and you will leave happy and full. Plenty of parking, no wait, we will definitely be back. Hope we can keep this spot our little secret ;)

I can't even describe how amazing the French toast was! The flavors of every dish I've had there so far are beyond measure! They're so sweet and friendly, it's really like an extended kitchen outside of home!

Located this place on Yelp for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Welcomed in the door, immediate drink order and arrival, and the friendliest service throughout the entire meal. Ordered the diced ham and eggs which came with a side of hash browns and toast. All of it was wonderful! (I would suggest putting the eggs and ham over the hash browns and smothering it all with gravy as a new dish on the menu. Just my crazy idea, but I think it would be a hit!) I left full having really enjoyed a great breakfast, and next time I want to try the Baconator cakes. Just didn't have room on this visit. Great little friendly breakfast place with great food and great service!

Let's start with it is really small and quaint. The owners are awesome, nice, and attentive. Like having a private chef. The menu is decent for the size of the place. They serve a full breakfast and lunch. My two colleagues and I sent for a late breakfast, and all chose breakfast as opposed to the lunch. All three of us ended up with pancakes, but different styles, all had two eggs (different styles), and I had bacon the others links. We all agreed it was really good and hit the spot. Our only knocks were that they have 1 more table than needed in the restaurant, which causes it to feel crowded.

Old style diner. A little small but the food was great. The sausage and mushroom omelette had a ton of flavor.

The restaurant has a bar-and-grill atmosphere, which makes sense given the brewery focus. It felt lively but still comfortable for a holiday dinner, and the menu offered several appealing choices both for the special and on the regular menu. We started with shrimp, which was cooked properly and had a good texture--firm and enjoyable without any rubbery or off-putting qualities. The French onion soup was a comforting course and fit the meal well. For the main, I ordered the burger, which was solid and satisfying. While not flashy, it was well prepared and enjoyable. A standout side was the sweet potato fries, which were exceptionally crisp with just the right amount of salt--easily some of the best I've had in a while. The dessert rounded out the meal nicely and completed the four-course experience. Nothing during the meal disappointed me; everything we had was good and well executed. Service was pleasant and professional. Our server was friendly and attentive, though the kitchen timing was a bit slow. We did notice that a few tables seated after us received their food sooner, but it wasn't enough to detract significantly from the overall experience. At $69 for a four-course Valentine's Day meal, the special felt like a good deal, offering variety and solid quality without feeling overpriced. Overall, Granite City delivered a comfortable, enjoyable holiday dinner with reliable food and good value.

We ordered the Rancher for the wife, the kids pancakes for the daughter, and the chicken fried steak breakfast for myself. Delicious. Plus they have two different hot sauces on the table, as well as their homemade jam! I thought it was ketchup at first, but I put it on everything. This is now a weekly event for breakfast. My wife has been to this location several times and has enjoyed it so decided to make the drive. It was definitely worth it! Despite being extremely busy, the restaurant was clean and service was excellent. We knew what we wanted so ordered as soon as the server came to our table. We received our drinks right away, and although we didn't time it, felt like it only took 5 minutes to receive our food. We watched around us and it appeared that was the case with all their tables/customers. Ordered the country fried steak, over medium eggs, hash browns, and toast. The experience at this restaurant is weird. Show up at 11am…read more- you'll have a line out the door. That is understandable, as it's peak brunch time. You talk to the front desk, and they'll tell you there's an hour wait if you don't have a reservation. You look around and see open tables. You think: "that's odd". You check on the website and it says you can get a reservation for 15, 30, and 45 minutes from now. You select a reservation for 15 minutes from now, and magically there isn't an hour wait for you anymore. You note the still open tables and the line not moving. The restaurant is very loud. They're doing late 2010's industrial chic with not a soft surface in site and garage doors, so everybody's conversation bounces around indefinitely. You wait a while for a server to come. I find the way the food looks when it arrives is always different than the way it sounds when you read the menu - sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse. The coffee and bar menu is pretty decent for a brunch place. Prices are on the high end, though some are more reasonable than others. Then you get hit with a 3% credit card fee which isn't adequately disclosed on the menu or when you enter the restaurant.
