What I take exception to, is entering the restaurant, stating I am there for happy hour, and being told they can seat me at a table, but I can only stay for an hour and a half. This is such a lovely restaurants with lots of lights and plants and it's busy without feeling congested. First of all. Second of all, the service is outstanding. Multiple people checking in, offering recommendations, making sure you are happy, etc. I've been here for brunch a couple times and dinner. The shrimp scampi was pretty darn good but as a diva who has lived on both coasts it didn't blow my mind. But it was fresh and nice and no complaints. Their brunch is so good. We've never had a problem getting a reservation, parking is usually decent because they have a ramp, and service is always quick. We did not plan ahead of time and were unable to get a table that would fit all 8 of us but split us up into 2 groups of 4 back-to-back from one another. The food was pretty good (although I feel like the price was pretty high for what I got in return), it was a simple burger for $16.95. I had read a few reviews mentioning table time limits and inconsistent service, but my experience at Hazelwood Food + Drink in Bloomington was the complete opposite. I stopped in for a solo lunch around noon and received friendly, attentive service from start to finish. The hosts were welcoming, my server never made me feel rushed, and I was seated in a quiet corner of one of the side dining rooms, which I actually appreciated. The Watermelon No-Jito immediately caught my eye, and I'm glad I ordered it. It was refreshing, and I liked that it was served in the same elegant glassware as the cocktails. It made the mocktail feel just as special. I started with the Wings and chose the Chipotle Ranch for dipping. The wings were crispy, flavorful, and the Chipotle Ranch was delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the 8 oz. Filet Mignon. It wasn't cooked quite to the doneness I requested, but it was still tender and enjoyable. It comes sitting in a savory jus with garlic butter, which adds extra flavor when you dip the steak into it. The Smoked Gouda Hash Browns were absolutely delicious and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. To finish, I ordered the Dessert Flight, which I thought was a fun and unique option. It included Chocolate Cake, Bread Pudding, Banana Cream Pie, and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The Banana Cream Pie was the surprise favorite. I don't usually like pie, but the caramelized banana on top won me over. Hazelwood Food + Drink has a modern, clean design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Even around noon, just an hour and a half after opening, the restaurant was already hopping for lunch. I couldn't find parking directly in front, but there is a free parking ramp for both restaurant and hotel guests, so parking wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a great solo lunch and would definitely come back. The Watermelon No-Jito, Wings, and Dessert Flight were all worth ordering again. While I enjoyed the 8 oz. Filet Mignon, I'm not sure it was worth the $54 price tag for me. Next time, I'd skip the steak and try the Rotisserie Chicken instead. Prices are average, service is great. My friends loved their meal, I liked mine. I ordered the prime rib hash and it had great chunks of beef and two perfectly poached eggs. However I felt that it was a little too greasy for me. Thank goodness that I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side, otherwise with the grease, it would have been way too rich. Some parts of the beef were chewy and some gristle. One friend ordered the strawberry French toast and it was HUGE! They were generous with the whipped cream too. Another friend ordered the roasted vegetable omelette that came with a side of hash browns and toast. They enjoyed it but it was on the smaller size. It's a large restaurant with plenty bar seating and clean restrooms. There's a shared small parking lot with the hotel but there's also a parking ramp too. The atmosphere was also great and made for a really enjoyable evening. The only reason I can't give 5 stars was the service. We barely saw our actual server beyond taking our order and bringing the check. At one point we had to ask three different employees just to get water, and it finally arrived after we had already finished our appetizers. Everyone was polite, but the attentiveness just was not there. Today we had a reservation at 1 pm and our table wasn't ready till about 1:20 pm, which I did expect to an extent as it was busy, but when you have a reservation you seem like you may avoid having to wait that long. (We were offered a dessert for the wait but it was brunch and we didn't want dessert after) Another unfortunate thing that happened is that everyone got their food besides one person at their table and it came about 5-10 min later which seemed rude to do. I'd rather we all get our food at the same time as it felt like they forgot about someone at our table. The breakfast burrito was okay, but not something I'd be dying to go back for. The eggs Benedict were solid, and the side of Gouda hash browns was amazing. The French toast was huge, the outside was crispy and the inside was soft. Also pretty solid. Not a bad place. My coworker suggested it so I tagged along. I'm not one to spend money and personally it's a bit too expensive for me but they had a happy hour menu so I was able to afford it. I ordered their cheese pizza (only $9) from the happy hour menu. I didn't think it would be that big but umm, I was definitely wrong. It was a very nice sized personal pizza. It was a thin crust and I actually ate the entire thing. But in my defense, I only ate a gutted out bagel and some snacks that day so I was HUNGRY. And it was thin crust so......but it was GOOD!! Lots of flavor. And that cheese.....best part! Our server was AMAZING! We had Gabby. Such a sweet person and she came to our table multiple times to make sure we were good. She refilled my water without me even asking. She was on her game! My bill was only $9.81 and usually I think that would be under a $2 tip but I left a $5 which is half my bill cause she was so good. My friend even let a manager know cause she definitely deserves praise. Even tho it's a bit expensive for me I think I would put some money to the side and go back if I'm ever in Minneapolis again. With all the nearby hotels, it's busy every night of the week (a good sign!). I went with a group of nine and we ordered a variety of dishes to share. My personal favorite (pictured) was the Angel Hair Shrimp & Scallop Pasta -- perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops in a light, flavorful sauce with broccoli. The portion was generous, and I even had enough left over for lunch the next day. We started with the spinach dip and calamari, both incredible. Honestly, Hazelwood has my favorite calamari in Minnesota. If you're looking for comfort food, the chicken pot pie and meatloaf are also must-tries. Service was top-notch: attentive, friendly, and fast. This was my first time in Minneapolis as I was traveling for business. The reviews looked good so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because the food was amazing! It was so good I actually went twice! This restaurant is right across the street from the Mall of America. The atmosphere was bubbly as everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The hostess greeted me with a smile and asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or a booth. My first visit I sat in a booth and the second was at the bar. The service was great. Now for the food. My first visit was lunch. The wings were some of the best I've ever had. They were lightly fried in a garlic butter sauce and seasoned to perfection. I like mine well done with the sauce on the side. The smash burger was very good as well as the tater tots. My second visit was dinner. The calamari was very tasty and the marinara sauce was really good. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the side of potatoes were good. The old fashion and local craft beer was very good. I have no complaints about this restaurant and I highly recommend. This was a recommendation from the front desk staff at our hotel and it did not disappoint! The restaurant was lively and modern looking, with lots of people talking and obviously enjoying their food. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server Kelsey provided plenty of recommendations on the menu. My mom and I are both decided on the burgers. I got the brie blackberry burger and she got the wild mushroom burger. She asked for her burger to be cooked well done, because she's a little bit weird like that. Our burgers looked fantastic when they came out. Mine was oozing with cheese, curds! Honestly, it tasted as good as it looked. The brie cheese curds, jam, and candied bacon were pretty amazing together. Unfortunately, my mom's burger was not cooked to well done (honestly, I think I got hers) and the mushrooms were so cold the cheese didn't melt. To everyone's credit, the restaurant took care of this immediately. Kelsey went back to the kitchen and got them started on another burger for her, and a manager came over to offer my mom a soup or salad while she waited. The manager (whose name I unfortunately did not get) suggested the lobster bisque, which was ridiculously good. If you like lobster bisque, this is the thing to get! By the time my mom had finished her soup and munched on some of her fries (considerately left at the table), remade food had appeared. Burger v2.0 was cooked to her satisfaction and came with a fresh batch of fries. The only problem was that the mushrooms were still kind of cold, so that the Gruyère cheese didn't really melt. But the flavors were really good - the mushrooms were delicious with the cheese and burger, and my mom was pretty happy. The awesome manager also comped my mom's food, which was super nice. Sometimes the most important thing is not to have everything perfect, but to react promptly when there's an issue. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and everything moved along quickly. The restaurant has a nice vibe, kind of a contemporary tavern type of feel. There were plenty of televisions around, playing multiple games. We each had a cocktail, which were yummy and I feel they were reasonably priced. For dinner, we shared both the Brie Cheese curds and the Pepperoni, Bacon and Goat Cheese Pizza. The Pizza overall was good. They appear to have a wood fired pizza over on the premises. The flavor combination was very well balanced. The Brie Cheese curds were a completely different story. More than 75% of them were empty shells of fried dough. Were they in the fryer too long? Or is that just the way they are? I don't know; however, I should have said something. That is my fault for not saying anything. I had the Brussels sprouts and they had a good flavor along with the cheese curds. For my entree I had the walleye and it was delicious and so well cooked and tender. First time trying walleye and it was a great eating fish. The service was good and never had any issues with the service. Everything went well here.
