Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday with a group of 8 people. We did not plan ahead of time and were unable to get a table that would fit all 8 of us but split us up into 2 groups of 4 back-to-back from one another. The food was pretty good (although I feel like the price was pretty high for what I got in return), it was a simple burger for $16.95. Similar burger's would cost between $12-$14 at other establishments. This is definitely a high end establishment but I would only go here for very special occasions.

I had read a few reviews mentioning table time limits and inconsistent service, but my experience at Hazelwood Food + Drink in Bloomington was the complete opposite. I stopped in for a solo lunch around noon and received friendly, attentive service from start to finish. The hosts were welcoming, my server never made me feel rushed, and I was seated in a quiet corner of one of the side dining rooms, which I actually appreciated. The Watermelon No-Jito immediately caught my eye, and I'm glad I ordered it. It was refreshing, and I liked that it was served in the same elegant glassware as the cocktails. It made the mocktail feel just as special. I started with the Wings and chose the Chipotle Ranch for dipping. The wings were crispy, flavorful, and the Chipotle Ranch was delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the 8 oz. Filet Mignon. It wasn't cooked quite to the doneness I requested, but it was still tender and enjoyable. It comes sitting in a savory jus with garlic butter, which adds extra flavor when you dip the steak into it. The Smoked Gouda Hash Browns were absolutely delicious and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. To finish, I ordered the Dessert Flight, which I thought was a fun and unique option. It included Chocolate Cake, Bread Pudding, Banana Cream Pie, and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The Banana Cream Pie was the surprise favorite. I don't usually like pie, but the caramelized banana on top won me over. Hazelwood Food + Drink has a modern, clean design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Even around noon, just an hour and a half after opening, the restaurant was already hopping for lunch. I couldn't find parking directly in front, but there is a free parking ramp for both restaurant and hotel guests, so parking wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a great solo lunch and would definitely come back. The Watermelon No-Jito, Wings, and Dessert Flight were all worth ordering again. While I enjoyed the 8 oz. Filet Mignon, I'm not sure it was worth the $54 price tag for me. Next time, I'd skip the steak and try the Rotisserie Chicken instead. I can definitely see myself returning to Hazelwood Food + Drink.

Solid spot near Mall of America with great service and reasonable prices. We had a party of 8, and our server was still really fast and efficient getting our drinks, appetizers, and entrees out. Would definitely dine here again on future visits to Minneapolis! Highly recommended, especially their espresso martinis!!

Relaxed atmosphere- close to the mall while not being mall quality. Homey, good food with some hits and misses. Cheese curds are killer with the lingonberry ketchup. Tater tots pretty rocking. I want it to be more like it was when it opened quality wise but perhaps a slight slip. Recommend for an above standard MN comfort food experience.

Very enjoyable dinner. Nice to be seated immediately as we had a reservation despite the line. Service was great: attentive without hovering. Food delicious and light. Brie curds lovely, walleye and white pizza. Good selection of drinks and local beers. Very good

Definitely my go to place before or after picking up a friend from the airport since it's really nearby, loving their specialty cocktail drinks I might've tried all of it before but my favorite is the Paloma Quick late dinner

I always enjoy the food at this Hazelwood location. Came with a group and got a few appetizers and the salmon entree. Great service, tasty apps, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The server paid attention to people's special requests and got things out very quickly, including the check and boxes. It was a little loud because of how busy it was, but we could still talk to the people sitting closest to us.

This rating is for their brunch. I'd love to come back for dinner and try some menu items. Came on a Saturday and made reservations. It started getting busy around 10:30-11:00 on a Saturday. Prices are average, service is great. My friends loved their meal, I liked mine. I ordered the prime rib hash and it had great chunks of beef and two perfectly poached eggs. However I felt that it was a little too greasy for me. Thank goodness that I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side, otherwise with the grease, it would have been way too rich. Some parts of the beef were chewy and some gristle. One friend ordered the strawberry French toast and it was HUGE! They were generous with the whipped cream too. Another friend ordered the roasted vegetable omelette that came with a side of hash browns and toast. They enjoyed it but it was on the smaller size. It's a large restaurant with plenty bar seating and clean restrooms. There's a shared small parking lot with the hotel but there's also a parking ramp too. It's right across the street from the MOA.

I've been to Hazelwood Food and Drink a couple of times, so I already knew the vibe was solid, but this last visit? Yeah... it did what it needed to do. Let's talk about that cranberry walnut salad because WOW. I switched out the blue cheese for feta (because... priorities), added blackened salmon, and baby--when I tell you that combination was working. The sweetness from the cranberries, the crunch from the walnuts, the saltiness from the feta, and that perfectly seasoned salmon on top? Heavenly is not an overstatement. It was giving "I made the right life decisions today." Hazelwood in general just knows how to execute. The space is always clean, a little upscale but still comfortable, and it's one of those places you can pull up to for a casual lunch or a dressed-up dinner and not feel out of place either way. Service has been consistently good every time I've gone--attentive without hovering. If I had to put my Yelp Elite hat on for a second, I will say this: it can get busy, and when it does, the energy shifts from chill to a little more lively than I personally prefer. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note if you're going for a quieter experience. But overall? Reliable, flavorful, and clearly not playing about their menu. Will I be ordering that salad again? Without hesitation.

Poppers off the happy hour menu. $9, apparently only served during the week...

Fantastic service and the food is outstanding. I ate jalapeño poppers. I wish I had ordered a dozen of them! I'll definitely be back on my next trip to MSP

Stopped here for HH w/ no reservation. Was told upfront that they could seat us (party of 2) but would need the table back at 5. Gave us almost an hour to dine. They have a few HH specials but I always hear good things about the food. I did stick to appetizers, I got the sticky chicken skewers and two chips, two dips. The sticky chicken was good, the chips and dips were simple but good. My friend got the truffle fries which were good. I also tried the blueberry lemon drop martini, which was good. It was pretty busy but service was good enough. the vibes here are very lively! Cute restaurant.

Is this a good place to watch a football game, i.e. Vikings vs. Packers? Are there lots of TVs?

Probably not- not the beer & wings/ get loud type of place & I didn't notice much for tvs even in bar

Do you have a Friday Fish Fry?

Do they offer a children's menu?

Yes! CHICKEN FINGERS / 5.95 light crispy batter, ketchup CHEESE OR HAMBURGER / 5.95 good old american cheese…

Do they serve brunch or breakfast food during the week?

They open at 11:00 and the menus is not really "brunch". The food is however excellent if you can live without egg dishes.

Do they serve bread with their entree's?

    I requested. Very good.

Do they have a Happy Hour, and what are the wine specials?

I didn't notice any happy hours or wine specials. It's not on any posts that I saw there.

Do you have a private room that would be good for a group of about 10?

Yes they have a ballroom. It should hold around 500 people. They also have a private room that could probably hold around 30. You should be fine

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

    - CRAVE at Mall of America…read more I stopped at CRAVE late on a Friday night while visiting the Mall of America. I was dining alone and was seated immediately at a high-top table in the bar area. The bartender greeted me right away, brought over a menu and water, and explained that the three bartenders working that evening would be helping guests as a team. One bartender handled most of my service, while food runners and other staff assisted as needed. The system worked very well, and I never felt overlooked. I started with the Smoky Peach Old Fashioned, which was very good. CRAVE offers sushi along with a wide variety of other entrées, so I decided to order the spider roll and the chicken bao buns. Both were excellent. The spider roll was fresh and flavorful, and the bao buns were another standout that I would gladly order again. One small detail really impressed me. I had been walking around and staying busy throughout the day, so I went to the restroom to wash my hands and freshen up. When I returned to my table, the bartender had a hot towel waiting for me. I was not expecting that level of hospitality from a restaurant inside a shopping mall, and it made the experience feel much more polished. My water and drinks were consistently refilled, the food arrived quickly, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, I had an excellent experience. The food, drinks, and service were all strong, and the thoughtful attention to detail made the visit especially memorable. I would absolutely return.

I know it's a convention center kitchen behind everything, but should you even be able to charge $46 for a steak if you don't have dedicated table service? We ordered the Steak Frites and a chicken sandwich to save our budget. And the food, frankly, was pretty terrible. We ordered the steak medium, but it came out extra rare. The truffle fries (just regular fries with some seasoning on them) and the sweet potato fries were really undercooked and while someone had nicely charred the green beans, they had not bothered to cook them past being raw on the inside. Undercooked seems to have been the theme. I was very grateful that the bartender realized our disappointment and gave us a discount on the bill, but I could never recommend this place to anyone.
