Everything--from appointments to pet details--is handwritten, which looks unprofessional and feels disorganized. It's clear they're in desperate need of a digital overhaul. But worse than the disorganization was the experience my dog (and I) had during our visit. Here's what happened: * 9:00 AM: I dropped off my dog for her scheduled grooming appointment. I was told I'd receive a call when she was ready. * 12:34 PM: I hadn't heard anything, so I called to check in and confirm they had my correct number (given their handwritten system). I was told they were fully booked and that someone would call me--but no update was given on where she was in the process, or if she had even been started. * 2:30-2:45 PM: After talking to friends and confirming that waiting over 5 hours with no updates was unreasonable, I decided to go get my dog. * Around 2:50 PM: I arrived--not because I was called, but because my dog had now been there nearly SIX hours. When I asked for her, I was told she wasn't ready and that I needed to pay before they would release her. * I requested a discount, as I had just been told she was only partially groomed. The staff said they couldn't approve that. * 2:55 PM: I paid the full grooming fee of $51.50 for incomplete service just to get my dog back. She now has to be taken to another groomer to finish the job, particularly her face and possibly other areas that were left undone. This experience left me deeply concerned--not just as a customer, but as a pet owner. Grooming can be stressful for pets, and leaving a small dog kenneled for six hours without a potty break is unacceptable. There was no communication, no apology, and no accommodation for the delay or incomplete service. This raises several serious questions: * Why are they booking more appointments than they can reasonably handle? * Why charge full price for only partial service? * Why keep dogs kenneled for hours on end when proper scheduling and staffing could prevent that? Anyway, I called 3 of the vets in Bartow County and their prices were between $300 and $400! So I decided to check Calhoun and found All Animal Veterinary Hospital and I could not believe what she said! I kept verifying the price and that she is in heat, and might weigh more than 25 pounds, and that it includes shots! She said the price is $104.00!!! We have an appointment on Wednesday. Check this one out before you go to the vet again. It's across from Walmart at the traffic light. Update: Sugar Baby came thru the surgery and recovered with flying colors! We took her back to have the stitches removed and again we were so pleased with the professional and courteous attitude of this business! I have referred several people and will continue to do so! I heard a water hose being used and when I got my dog she told me he just spilled water on himself because he was kinda wet and I thought nothing of it. I was notified by the doctor that bloodwork was good except, my dog was heartworm positive. I started her on high dose antibiotics the next day per heartworm protocol and another $230 plus. I decided to take her to our vet in Woodstock based on comfort level and history. That vet did 2 in house tests and sent to the lab. All three were heartworm negative!!! I left a message for the doctor or office manager to call me to discuss. As there is concern that my dog and another dog's labs must have been mixed up. Candice called me and did not want to hear they could have made a mistake and wanted to blame the lab they sent it to. I stated that they are the ones that sent it there and someone needed to take accountability. I have been a complete basketcase for a week and my dog has been on high dose antibiotics for no reason. She stated the office manager was back Monday and she didn't know what to do. I just stated again, I am worried that there is another dog with heartworms and they don't know. She got very hostile and again said that would be the labs fault. When I said I was just trying to explain the situation she said "this conversation is over" and hung up. I hope to hear something positive from them Monday. However, it seems they clearly make mistakes and don't want to rectify them. Stay away or get second opinions!!
