There weren't many people in the clinic but I believe this is fairly new so I hope more customers come and they stay because it's also the closest and most convenient place to get a PCR near downtown and the inner harbor. As I was looking for a doctor who is trained in Integrative medicine for my family, I had some basic questions as to whether the doctor was taking patients only with serious illnesses or otherwise healthy and also insurance. She basically did not know any answers and instead chose to read something repeatedly that really did not answer these simple basic questions. She then got annoyed when I pointed this out to her and asked if someone could get back to me with answers by saying that she had already answered my questions. She then had a poor attitude with me and showed clearly her annoyance with me. It was quite frustrating at this point so I decided to end this comical call. So I wasted my valuable time and got the worst impression of a doctor's office ever with this person. But perhaps they have so much business that they can have her behave this way? I mean really - at $350 consultation fee plus $175 thereafter that she said most insurance won't cover, I guess they are doing extremely well! They say you can judge a book by its cover and often, office staff can make or break your practice as good doctors know.

My appointment was scheduled for 2:20 PM, but I did not leave the office until nearly 4:00 PM. Patients are asked to provide information ahead of time regarding the purpose of their visit, yet upon arrival, the process and expectations seemed completely different, which created unnecessary frustration. During my second visit, my appointment was scheduled for 10:20 AM. However, the office was not open when I arrived, despite the website stating that it opens at 10:00 AM. Again, this led to confusion and frustration before the appointment even began. My third visit followed a similar pattern. My appointment was scheduled for 1:20 PM, but I was not seen until after 2:00 PM. As someone who also works in healthcare, I understand that delays can happen. However, when providers are running significantly behind schedule, patients should be informed. Unfortunately, that did not occur during any of my three visits. My biggest concern is the lack of communication and accountability at the front desk. Patients often become frustrated before ever seeing the provider, and that frustration is the result of poor communication and office management. It also appears there has been considerable turnover within the office, which may be contributing to these issues. I understand that providers expect respectful communication from patients, but it is equally important to recognize how repeated scheduling problems, delays, and lack of communication affect the patient experience. For these reasons, I have decided to return to my original healthcare provider.

Every time I arrive at his practice they have been expecting me; I never wait. In fact, I'm usually running a little late and I get a friendly call inquiring if I hit traffic and what my ETA will be. Immediately I'm able to see my doctor. Lou is extremely thorough, thoughtful, and his follow up is unbelievable. Lou is just different than other doctors. I'll give you an example, my medical record shows that I started taking an antidepressant during my separation/divorce. Most doctors would see the obvious reason/cause for such a prescription. However, Lou knowing that I had just moved to Baltimore from San Francisco delved deeper and he wanted to know how I was coping with this transition and more importantly how I was getting along with creating new friends and socials groups. He precribed me rec league team sports to foster new friendships. That's a superhuman kind of listening that you don't acquire or get to use in a traditional rushed primary care setting. Lou being a participating doctor of MDVIP seems to empower a terrific physician to be superhero physician. Every visit I've had with Lou is similar as he goes deeper than I thought possible or have experienced in the pastx That one time he referred me to GI specialist just to be sure he didn't miss anything, well Lou's diagnosis was spot on whereas the GI doc was "unsure". When the CT scan was complete, it was Lou who called me personally within 30 minutes of it being read by the radiologist whereas the GI took the standard 24 hours to call me. In fact, it was actually his staff member that did the calling. I believe Lou cares about my health more than I do. I feel as if I am Lou's only patient to rationalize why he is so attentive with me. However, I understand his practice has nearly the max capacity of 600 patients that MDVIP allows to ensure personalized patient focus, which is way better than being just one of a few thousand like my previous doctor. And yes, I'm on a first name basis with my doctor because when someone knows you as well how can you not be? I cannot say enough great things about Lou. While he is my primary care doctor, in just a short year, he really feels like a friend who knows and cares more about my well being, than most of my actual friends.

I went in for my annual, having changed from my old doctor. Filled out the new patient forms and…read morewaited. MD seemed nice as we chatted a bit. I remember telling Dr. Okasi to please use the small speculum before the exam. She nodded yes but said nothing verbally. As soon as the speculum was opened, I let out such a scream! I'm sure people in the waiting room and other parts of the office heard me, especially since this office has walls that don't connect to the ceiling (open concept). At no time did she comfort me, nothing like "breathe. Take a deep breath" or "are you ok? It's almost over". Nothing at all! I truly suspect she used the large speculum. Maybe she didn't like being told what to use. All I know is I've never yelled liked that in any of my previous examinations with other MDs. I was so embarrassed to the point that I apologized after the exam. And I shouldn't have, thinking back. Why did I apologize for pain inflicted upon me? That's why I wanted the smaller speculum! After getting in my car, I said to myself I'm never coming back here. Dr. Okasi's bedside manner was so so poor, to say the least. And the staff is not memorable. Believe what your patients tell you. We know our bodies more than you do. And if something doesn't make sense, then ask us questions for clarification.
