    Double double burger

Love the mushroom burger, it is my staple here. On tap microbrews are also very good. Service is better at the bar, meh at the tables. It's a dive bar, but a good one. Also don't recommend the tall tables. Chairs are slippery! Hate having to keep trying to 'perch'. Overall good food at a reasonable price.

I have definitely been to a few "dive bars" and I would have to say this has to rank right up there with the best of them. Four of us showed up and fortunately 2 of us knew some of the people there. This is without a doubt a very local watering hole with a bunch, if not all locals. That being said I would not say that was a bad thing. It's kind of a small place and pretty much wall to wall or shoulder to shoulder. It certainly seemed as though everybody knew each other. There were 2 bartenders that that never had a chance to breath, because it was one drink after another. I don't know how, but we landed 4 seats at the bar to start and sat there for about an hour and then drifted to a table. While at the bar we had 3 appetizers. Onions rings, pepper jack fried cheese balls and my favorite fried chicken livers (very crispy and good). At the table we ordered "dinner". I had fried bologna!!!, and there were 2 cheese burgers and a chicken sandwich, no bread, with more onion rings and fries. Onion rings were right on, fries not so much. I think our order got lost because it took forever, which we did not mind. But after asking about the order it came right away.(that was OK). Would I go back? In a heartbeat with no hesitation and if you find it on Google maps you should go too.

Great local bar in Howard! Really enjoyed my hamburger and the laid back atmosphere. Cash only

Great food, prices are even better. Quick and friendly service. If you have time for a drink, the beer is the coldest in town

The best burgers and fries in this area. The staff does their best and they are crowded very often. Good place for a gathering.

French fries are frozen with a little bit of coating on them. (I prefer hand cut fries) The menu is varied so you should be able to find something. There seems to be an awful lot of spicy dishes on the menu. So, my friend ordered the Caesar salad and it comes with cavatappi pasta, which we found interesting on a Caesar salad, but she said it was good. Her husband ordered the glazed salmon, a baked potato with cheese and bacon, a bowl of chili with cheese and bacon as his appetizer, and he was surprised that the spice was as high on the glaze rather than sweet, but he still enjoyed it. My husband had the fish and chips and he said they were good. I had the crispy spicy chicken salad, and I took the ginger dressing on the waitresses' advice. It was good, but the chicken wasn't hot. It was room temperature!! I would try something else if I return. Reason for 4 stars-there seem to be a lot of empty tables and a very long wait time as there were lots of waiters and waitresses. Three of us drank ice water one had a sweet tea. With tip and the mandatory convenience fee for use of a credit card .... dinner was slightly over $100 for four of us.

We had a lovely time though we weren't thrilled about sitting in the tiny side room at the tiny 4-person bar with our backs to the room...it felt cramped. Our server helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine from an extensive collection. The apples and rice appetizer was excellent..like arancini balls. My husband had the duck and liked it. I had the lumache which was just ok. The pasta was a little too al dente and the large clumsy shells didn't seem like the right shape for the delicate dish. It was supposed to come with shrimp, but surprise...nope! It came with lobster. I find lobster a bit sweet and thought shrimp would have worked better. This girl is usually in the clean plate club when it comes to pasta and seafood dishes but not tonight. I will say that the dessert alone was worth the one hour drive.. the smoked smores arrived with a bell jar of smoke which the server whisked off to reveal a delectable gooey to-die-for cake smothered in caramel and marshmallow. Did I mention it came with two cups of hot white chocolate to pour over the whole thing? Omg..drool-worthy.

Not stellar, but usually a good rotating variety of healthy meals; from my personal experience, they try to be super cognizant of dietary restrictions, so there's something for everyone. Highly recommend Grilled Cheese Monday (Texas toast, bright orange cheese slices and all) and the sweet potato fries. They have a surprising variety of aiolis that are delish. Good dessert section, too--the pumpkin bread and molasses cookies are must-tries. Can't speak to the goat tacos, but I've heard they're hyper-local (born and assassinated on Kenyon's very own farm). Piercegiving and Midnight Breakfast are most definitely the highlight of every Kenyon student's experience. The icecream tower (housed in a literal kiddie pool) most likely was vetoed post-Covid, but by god, it was excellent. The staff are super kind to students and work incredibly hard to keep Pierce running. They keep ingredients fresh and local--love that!!
