First time in 30 years I've been in Great Falls. After asking the gentleman at the hotel who he recommends for great local pizza. He swore it was the best place in town. We looked online says guaranteed hot as all their delivery trucks have built-in ovens. It showed up in a 30+ year-old vehicle with a younger gentleman that look like he just finished smoking a fatty. Our medium pizza had virtually no sauce. Look like somebody don't two or three cans of sliced mushrooms on it and virtually no cheese. One medium pizza two cans of pop and two bottles of water ended up costing us $75 Canadian. It has been approximately eight weeks now We have been waiting for an email back as I had expressed such disappointment in the cost, the value and the service that we received. I wasn't looking for compensation. I was just telling them how disappointed I was. I have not received any response from the email I had sent. If you like a homemade thin crust pizza this is a place for you. They have pizza and a limited menu of other items. Basically it's a pizza joint. We were there at peak time so the servers were very busy. We were well attended to and the server was personable. The pizza had great flavor and the homemade Ranch for it was good. Delicious as always, visiting from out of town and I always have to get some Howard's pizza before I head home.

So this will be my second negative review of the most overrated pizza business in Great Falls. Last time I reviewed Howard's was almost a decade ago and it's nice to see that they are still serving overpriced slop. I never eat at Howard's by choice. I usually end up there because of group events or after-work drinks. In this particular case tonight, my wife wanted Howard's. We ordered the deep dish taco pizza....not an iceberg lettuce & dorito pizza. There was maybe a 1/4 lb of beef on the whole damn pizza (large mind you). Too little compared to the 2 lbs of iceberg lettuce, 4 lbs of shitty cheese (like, microwave nachos too long cheese), a sprinkling of greenish-pink unripened tomatoes and whole bag of smashed up MSG infused doritos. After a couple bites and chewing on large amounts of overcooked rubbery cheese (that no amount of cheap taco sauce packets can distract from), that was enough for me. My 12 year old son could make a better pizza from the Great Falls Public School system's ingredients. This Howard's pizza was DEFINITELY worth the $33 after a tip. We ended up eating left over spaghetti. I am a simple guy who likes good food. If you sell me subpar food at high quality prices, you will hit a nerve. This pizza made me so disappointed and angry, I would rather see another casino or freaking mattress store open at these locations instead of Howards. read more

I ordered three large pizzas from Howards two pepperoni and sausage one cheese when the pizzas were delivered. They were stuck to the bottom of the box because they do not line the boxes. I specifically told the boy who answered the phone to make sure they lined the box, but they did not. I called them back to let them know of the mistake. They were somewhat indignant, but we did finally get the pizzas delivered an hour and a half later. Howard used to be my favorite pizza joint since it opened back in the 70s, if you want cardboard tasting pizza this is the place to go. I'm not sure the other Howards locations are doing this. But it really couldn't be that hard to line the boxes without telling them obviously they don't eat their own pizzas delivered. They must have new management or owners. read more

Different than most other GF pizza places. The pizza was good, but like I said, it's a different, more of a thin crust thing. I enjoyed it greatly. It seems to be very busy so get there early. I'd also recommend considering going for more than less when considering volume as we burned through the pizza very quickly (not super large, but just a recommendation, not a knock). The one negative I had was the salad. It's essentially the shredded lettuce with olive and tomato toppings thrown in. It will get the job done, but not what you'd expect as a salad. Overall, this is better than many of the other chains, so give it a try! read more

Oh Howard's... how you have impacted the lives of so many. My family moved to Great Falls in 1975. Our kids were young and like so many others growing up in Great Falls, exposed to a pizza market dominated by Howard's and their numerous locations. They loved it. My wife and I tried to expose them to other pizza options over the years, but the culinary imprinting was too strong. When they left home, one of the few positive results my wife and I realized was "no more, greasy, drip off your elbow, paper thin crust pizza" for us. Then, every time they would return home for school break or vacation, we had to have Howards. When friends would invite us out for pizza, it was always at Howard's. The Howard's ordeal finally ended when we moved to the lake. As we were recently house sitting for my daughter, we were discussing dinner options and Howard's came up. Haven't had one in 15 or 20 years. Nostalgia, curiosity, latent self-abuse issues, not sure why, but we ordered one. I'll give Howard's credit after all these years. It still tastes the same. I've ordered delivery from them a bunch of times now and all I can say they suck at telling you delivery times!! 1st time I ordered and was told 1 hour and it took 2 hours! Currently waiting for and order now and was told 45 to an hour and its Currently been 1 hr 30 plus minutes. They either need to hire/schedule workers to go faster or hire/schedule more drivers! It's shouldn't be taking this long especially when u call them back and they say "it's on its way it'll be their shortly" then it's been over 30 minutes. Whoever thinks 30 plus minutes is shortly should look into a fucking dictionary. Plus when the food sits in the truck warmer awhile it gets all soggy!! This is for delivery only. I will never understand the hype about Howard's Pizza. We ordered a large supreme pizza, and it was easily the worst thing I've ever eaten. The texture was odd and off putting, dry, and not the slightest bit greasy which is crazy with the amount of cheese on top. Tiny chucks of of ground meat with zero sauce, in addition to the sausage and pepperoni way too much cheese over the top. Maybe it's just me, but I want to be able to see and identify what exactly is going in my mouth. There wasn't any flavor to it. The only reason I am giving this rating 2 stars and not one is because of the side of fried mushrooms we ordered with the pizza. Those were pretty good - slighty sweet with a container of decent tasting ranch. I don't think we will order from here again. Absolutly love there pizza! There crust is crispy yet foldable, very traditional. My favorite is the there taco pizza, they do not add all those nasty extras everyone else's taco pizza's have. It is simply pizza crust, taco meat, cheese lettuce and DORITO'S (yes doritos!!!). There pepperoni is amazing too! I would only recommend delivery or take out though. The service in the restaurant is less than friendly and professional. The cooks are willing to argue about who is doing what for the night in front of customers and managment seems okay with the staff standing right outside the front door smoking and blowing there smoke in your face as you walk in. The place needs some serious updating. The carpets and tables look like they have been there for 30 years. All that aside Id order there pizza any day, you can always avoid the staff, mostly, by ordering take out or delivery. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place!!!! I always give at least 2 stars when the service is good. But this was most definitely not good pizza.... If I can even call it that. The toppings are bland, and UNDER sliced cheese resulting in a solid square or cheese and pepperoni hanging from my face and a piece of tomato covered cardboard in my hands. If you used shredded cheese with the toppings ON TOP, I may consider another try as the flavors ratios and blending may be different. So when we timed insulin and the pizza estimated time for pick up, I was shocked to find the store closed for remodeling and my pizza at another location. After deciding to give this place a try i was dissapointed after all the raves it had recieved. As you would expect in such a culinary deficient town as Great Falls, no real pizza oven nor any technique or know how in making pizza.The sauce was sour and acidic, like ketchup. And the crust was bland and doughy. The cheese was questionable as whether it was real mozz and the toppings were anything but fresh. You are better off buying a frozen pizza from a super market and baking it yourself than wasting your time on Howard's Pizza. I grew up in Great Falls and now live in Boulder where diners ordered the equivalent of $561 of food every minute in 2006. The options in Boulder are fantastic and one can eat out well every night of the month. However, there is nothing like Howard's Pizza. From the perfectly spiced sauce to the homemade sausage, Howard's is the one culinary experience from Great Falls for which I long. Although it may sound odd, the Kraut Special (sauerkraut and sausage) should definitely be tried. Stop by the Wine Mill, order a sausage & mushroom pizza, a pitcher of Coors Light and make a wish at the water wheel. read more

Service is quick and always feel like a valued customer when Tanya is waiting on us. She is very efficient and friendly! We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza and 2 side salads with blue cheese dressing and 2 sodas. $26 for all. Salads are simple but fresh and the blue cheese is excellent. Pizza crust is definitely one you don't find everywhere but we love the thin cracker like crust. We always bring our family here when they visit. We will definitely be back...again, and again! I love pizza, and I am a believer that even bad pizza is better than no pizza... But Howard's Pizza has got to be the worst pizza there is. For some reason, many people in Great Falls adore this place. It regularly gets voted "Best Pizza in Great Falls." I just don't get it. To me, the pizza is basically a jar of sauce baked on a saltine. It's greasy and nasty, kind of like the cheapest generic frozen pizza available at Wal-Mart. Then again, they have four locations in Great Falls, so that must mean something. I find that cowboys, Wal-Mart people, and other really white folks absolutely love Howards. Growing up in Great Falls, MT Howards was always a staple in our house. Your quality is very good but you are lacking slightly in consistency of flavor. Maybe it's being spoiled by Chicago pizza for 15 years but I could not give 5 stars for pizza that didn't meet the factors for me. One cheese seemed too stringy ,had great pull away from pie but kinda fell apart, Two of course flavor. And finally three it did not sit so well as I found myself running for the nearest restroom.
