I strongly suggest if you are looking for a place to buy your parts, do NOT go here! In my 47 years of life, I have never been more disappointed & shocked by service. We payed $150 in parts to repair our washing machine. My husband put the parts on & the washer it still did not work. He immediately took parts back off & went to return- or at least pay a restocking fee- & the owner said it was used & we couldn't return. She wouldn't even let us get reimbursed her cost so neither of us were out $. I like to support the local mom & pop stores, but I guarantee you that the big stores would have gladly refunded us. We were out $150 & had to go buy new washing machine. We have been coming here for years but I won't anymore. read more

Terrible business!! These people are dishonest and unprofessional. Quoted me $85.00 for service charge but when I got the bill in the mail, an additional $35.00 was charged. I was harassed and threatened when I omitted the $35 bucks. Bad business if you want to keep your customers happy. Really not a good experience and I'm still upset about it. The repair did not fix the refrigerator. I was told I would be issued a refund but the manger does not answer the phone unless I call from a different number, he then hangs up. No repair/no refund. read more

Efficient service with an old school attitude. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! I believe Howes has been in business longer than most of these whiners have been alive. I always check with them first to see if it's in stock before ordering from China on Amazon. Before you freak out about the price, compare your appliance manufacturer' price for parts & repair. Usually Howes has it in stock. They're very informative and helpful. I've been a customer for 15 yrs with no complaints. Please consider the cost of things in general these days before bad mouthing honest hard working small businesses that are a staple in our community, like Howes. Thank you! read more

I have been dealing with heating issues inside my oven. So I called Howe's after some internet diagnostics to purchase a temp sensor. When I arrived at Howe's I found out they do not take debit/credit. So I looked into my wallet and found I was 6 dollars short for the part. She accepted it and I ran home to install it. Very kind of her. Turns out that was not the part that needed to be replaced. So I talked to a vendor who works for my wife and he said 100% without a doubt it was the Gas valve. He said with the things I have replaced on it already I would be able to manage the install. But the Holidays were fast approaching and I really needed to have it done with no more fussing around with it. So I called Howe's to bring the part and install. The tech showed up without the part in hand, removed the door completely, set it in the middle of my kitchen and he did diagnose that the gas valve was the issue. He told me he would order it and come back the next day. Christmas Eve. I was given a window of 2-5 p.m. I was expecting family over for dinner, but with how prompt he was on the first service call (said 1-3, was over at 1:05) I figured it would be fine. Then 4:45 came around. I blew off 2 plans I had while waiting for this guy. He never showed. I called in and the lady said we weren't even on his calendar. So I called the tech to see what was going on. He told me that he could come over in 1.5 hours (6:30) because he was dealing with emergency service calls and lost my paperwork somewhere in the shuffle. He said it would take almost an hour to get everything back in order. I told him we could resolve it after the holidays, at this point the last thing I wanted was a tech banging around in my kitchen when my last option is using the cook top to prepare dinner. Needless to say I was pissed. I didn't get upset on the phone, but I let him know if they were going to retain my business they would at least half to come down 50% on the service call. He offered me this. I pay full price on the part, and he will lower the service from $105 to $75. I asked him if he really thought my time spent waiting on him and moving plans around was really only worth $30. If my 3+ hours dealing with that and delaying plans with my family was worth $10 an hour, and he can put the part in in under an hour... I say he takes $10 to install. But I am not going to deal with them. Oven door is still sitting in the garage. My wife prepared a great stove top meal and we carried on. New part will be here via mail order next Monday, sorry Howe's, normally I do enjoy keeping my business local and with ma and pa shops, but you really blew it on this one. read more

I had a great experience over the phone and in person. They say good old fashioned service on the door and that's how i felt about my experience. I have 2 old Maytags that the previous owners left when we bought our house. They run great even though dont look very new or modern. Any how the belt broke on the dryer. And I went to Lowe's for a replacement part. He gave me is best suggestion but it wasnt the right one. After many youtube videos and almost pulling my hair out I called Howe's. I was asked the right questions, provided with accurate information, and was able to easily pick up part. Since they really like Maytag appliances I will be keeping yhere business card for future issues. Thanks! read more

Made appointment at their shop last week--referred to them by a leading appliance store--dishwasher needed work. Gentleman showed up on time, got right to work, obviously very experienced, got the dishwasher back in running condition and offered some user tips. Professional, businesslike, friendly and fast. Excellent value and I am glad to know Howe's. And, really--they have the know-Howe. read more

I have gotten parts and advice for DIY repair at least 4 times that I can think of. Prices are fair.

I contacted Howe's on Dec. 6, 2017 because my ovens bake element was not working. Owner asked for model number which I gave to him along with the part number which I had researched. I was told he could get me the part and I agreed to purchase it. I picked the part up in the early afternoon, installed it, and it did not work. I phoned the store at that time. The owners wife answered the phone and after telling her that the new element would not work she said I could have tested the old element to see if it was good. I did so and it was good which meant some other problem. I was told that I could not return the part. I called the next morning talked to the owner and he informed me that since I had supplied the model and part number that I knew what I was doing and that it was not his responsibility to advise me to make a simple test to determine if in fact I needed the element. The owner was very rude and yelled at me during our phone conversation insisting that I should take responsibility for the problem. The owner called me back after our this conversation still very hostile to reiterate his position. Initially, had he simply asked if I had tested the element there would have been no problem. Sadly, Sears at Town Center supports this business. We are now out $120 and still have to buy a part to fix the oven. read more
