If you're looking for a nice evening activity where you can get some fresh air and support local entrepreneurs, this is a great little night market to do just that! And it's very family friendly - they even have games like a giant Connect Four and bean bag toss! I have to say I was just a tad surprised at the size - the name "night market" gave me visions of something like the 626 market - but this is much smaller so just be aware. But I think that's a good thing - much smaller crowds and more local sellers! There was even a DJ playing fun, energetic music. There are several rows of booths offering all sorts of fun items - jewelry, ceramics, art, crafts, foods and treats- even Halloween items! There was also even a Henna artist. They had several food booths as well - tacos and pizzas, bubble tea and a lovely fruit booth that even had açaí bowls! Yum!! It's in a pretty central location in the SGV and there was plenty of street parking. I read there's a parking lot but I didn't find it - but like I said - plenty of street parking. There was a Yelp Elite event going on but I wasn't part of it this time - just came out to support some local businesses! It's free to enter but they ask that you reserve free tickets on Eventbrite - not sure why though bc there's no check in area or anything - I reserved 3 tickets for my party but couldn't find where we needed to show them - you basically just walk in. I came for the October Halloween Howlin Night. It was located in this parking lot area of what seemed like a rec center. There is plenty of parking for those who would like to drive and park off of Las Tunas. I opted to just walk since I was less than a mile away. For a night market, it was quite small. Two rows of small nic nacks you can buy ranging from jewelry to essential oils. There was a small food section that had Korean bbq, Mexican food and pizza. We opted to try the Korean BBQ from GOCHU Gang. It was very delicious! You can definitely smell it from afar. The only thing was they didn't have their prices or what's on the menu listed on a stand. They did say they had a online menu but there is no posts with a QR code. So we just blindly ordered essentially and asked what they recommended. There were a few stands with dessert such as the cookies from Crackle n Puff and crepes. I do wish the night market was bigger. There weren't many things to see and the stands that were there were very selective. Night markets are usually more successful when there is a variety of stands. Overall, it was cute and small. If you're into a small and free night markets, it would be a cute night out. We spent about a little over an hour there. Just don't have super high expectations like the large night markets. read more

REALLY FUN OUTDOOR SWAP-MEET! WOULD LOVE MORE VENDOR OPTIONS & ELITE RULES EXPLAINED Okay! Here goes my honest opinion. . . THE PROS: I really loved it. It was perfect weather, I found parking, and it wasn't far from home (25minutes). Most of the people were so nice and welcoming. I was actually pretty worried that I would feel weird going alone (my boyfriend had to work and couldn't come) and honestly, it was totally fine that I went by myself. I found a little sitting area w/tables and as I ate my keto taco, I talked to a few nice couples, and they were all so nice! I love seeing humans being nice to each other, it's so refreshing. lol CONS: when I got here, I was asking where to go to check-in. I didn't know who was hosting it, which was was the entrance or exit, or who was what. I asked a vendor who was at the end on the left, and he wasn't so happy I asked him where to go. Lol. But, that's okay! Moving along to finding where to check-in. She didn't look very happy either, I know these things can get hectic (and they did, there was a lot of people getting there when I got there) so, I really feel for her. She asked my name/made sure I was yelp elite, and gave me a bag, and showed me a paper, and said very quickly to check out what's on the left first, because they sell out first. I said thank you and she went to help someone else calling her attention (as I said, she was really busy) Later, after I talked to a few people, I found out that Yelp elite got $2.00 off at Korean bbq, and we are supposed to get tickets from each place/vendor we bought at for a raffle, and they're calling raffle numbers? I guess throughout the night? I don't know if other places were giving discounts or not, but I wish I was explained that when I got there. I paid full price for everything I bought, and didn't get a raffle ticket at not one place I went, lol. which I guess isn't too big of a deal, but kind of defeats the cool perks, right? Especially when Korean bbq is $17.00 a plate. &15 sounds better lol THE VENDORS: As I wondered in the small 3 rows, I just started buying for my family members. There really wasn't much for myself, I KNOW it totally sounds like I'm being annoying, but I honestly went to see what i can eat, and I'm very strict on what I eat, but I always find keto-ish things at swap meets (I try to let loose some days and eat sugar/ carbs) but, it didn't damper my time at all! Like, it really was okay, because I wanted to support small businesses regardless. I stopped at: - "Better together sweets" for a strawberry pudding, ($7.50) then right across from her I got a taco at - "El chaparrito" ($2.00) and he was so nice! I bought a chorizo taco (he did it keto style! Whoo-hoo!) -Zulemas creative treats! I bought 2 cookies (2 for$ 10.00) I bought my nieces chuckie & a mermaid paint yourself cookie (: - GOchu Gang: (12.00 & 17.00 ) where the line is long and the workers are nice! I took my boyfriend some brisket, potato salad and rice. **Last but not least, my favorite part of the swap meet* -Hunter rose henna! ($20.00) I can't thank her enough for the cute masterpiece she did on my hand! She was so easy and fun to talk to, she really made the time fly. I would go back to this event just for her! THE VERDICT: It's worth going to, & I love seeing small businesses doing their thing. I came to eat, and even though they didn't have much for me to eat, I still enjoyed my time elsewhere (like getting henna). I loved meeting new people, and feeling safe at the venue (it's 2021, being a girl and going places alone is most definitely not it, because the craziest things happen. So, I'm really glad this place didn't give me that too scared to walk to my car alone vibe lol) as I said, I wish I got the perks of the few discounts and raffles, and I wish they had more vendors, but other than that, it was a great Friday outing, and I will be back! read more

Thanks to Yelp for helping host this event! Very nice community event with local artisans and mom and pop shops. I was glad to help support the local community. There was nice music and great goodies! One vendor that stood out was Crackle and Puff. Their cookies and cream puffs were so gooood! They had nice flavors like lavender earl grey and yuzu cookies. I tried their Ube cream puff. The guava pizza was delicious as well. I was happy to see a vegan boba with healthy ingredients, but the boba was very soggy. The tea still tasted good and I got an Ube milk to go. The sweetener they use is monkfruit. Another item that stood out was a box of pumpkin cheesecake churro bites. Delish! I had so many desserts for the next few days thanks to Howlin Market. read more

First time here! Didn't even know this existed! We came a bit late, so it wasn't as crowded, but heard from a vendor that it was very busy earlier. I'm glad we have a market like this here in the community! It was fun to see small business vendors, families with their pets, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. I'm glad I heard about this through Yelp! Got to sample a few things and purchased some goodies...baked goods from Emmi Bakes & Tiffy's Tasty Treats' pumpkin spice churro cheesecake!! We had 2 seasoned/spicy gummies samples from two different vendors, so we got to compare the two...one from Bees Suga Spice, which had a tangy kick, and Tahin and maybe Tamarindo, and the other from Mijitos Chilitos, which was SPICY! It was drier in texture than the other one, less messy, but I preferred the taste of the tangy Tahin one. The brownie and cookies by Emmi Bakes was really quite tasty, and definitely made from scratch, which I loved! But the tastiest was probably the churro cheesecake from Tiffy's. That was amazing!! We will be keeping our eyes out for these vendors again, either here or at other market events elsewhere... read more

Awesome Night Market. Unfortunately I came a little late so I wasn't able to utilize too much of the food coupon, but I was able to try a couple of vendors. Birria De Res has awesome cheesy tacos. Magia De Tierra had a super tasty organic Thai Tea drink. Mojitos Chilitos gave me the most unique experience with their spicy gummy bears. There were also clothing shops and even a vendor that specializes in custom rugs. Definitely recommend checking out this Night Market if you ever have the time. I was invited to attend by Howlin Night Market and Yelp! This is such a cute outdoor market that happens once a month. It's a great way to bring the community together and showcase local vendors. I went mainly for the food but it was nice to see all of the vendors! There were an array of different vendors from clothing, jewelry, custom mats, community resources, nonprofits, etc. They have adequate lighting after the sunsets and they keep up the positive and fun mood with the DJ. It's a great event for all ages! They had games for the kids and a bar to entertain the adults. All of the food we tried was DELICIOUS! We had pizza, birria, desserts, fresh pressed juice, and vegan milk teas. We had to roll out of there after everything we ate and drank! We would definitely attend the event again! read more

Cute local nightly market in the SGV! Lots of vendors ranging from food, treats/snacks, clothes, crystals, etc. It's a great way to support local businesses. From what I saw, all of them take some form of digital payment (zelle, Venmo, cash app) so you don't have to worry about carrying cash. Oftentimes the market has a drive where they donate items you bring in exchange for raffle tickets. For example, the event I went to today was donating items to the homeless on skid row. This was my first time coming to Howlin Night Market and it will definitely not be my last! My family and friends came and had a blast and were impressed by all the offerings there was. The first thing that caught my eye was a free photobooth. My friends and I took full advantage of that. Next was the live djs they had. It truly brought the Night Market to life! My friends found themselves dancing and playing trivia with the DJ. The food is amazing too. I had some Korean bbq and later had tacos that were made with handmade tortillas. A M A Z I N G !! Lastly, were all the vendors. They had a wide selection of options such as cutting boards, hand made jewelry, clothes, games, etc. Everything you can find online on Etsy was there.
