Malotte Enterprises provided a reasonable quote and timely removal of my 5 trees. When I met Joe, I took an instant liking to him. He was knowledgeable and passionate. The bid went smoothly and I was looking forward to working with him. After a delay of about a month getting my neighbors in line and dealing with the logistics of all of our family pets not having access to their yards, I decided to proceed. He came out to re-familiarize himself with the project and sign paperwork. He was set to start work two days later on what he claimed to be a "no more than 2 1/2 day" job. The fun stopped basically after I wrote the first check. On Thursday: No Joe. I had taken time off from work and he was a no-show. I called him that afternoon and got some lame excuse as to why he wasn't there and wasn't coming. STRIKE ONE. On Friday he arrived on time. He was apologetic, but the damage was done. In what I can only suppose to be eagerness to make up time, he started demolition of the almost new section of fence I'd done with above mentioned 4th neighbor. He put nearly half of the relatively new fence on the ground before I could stop him. WTF? The demolition took longer than he expected for various reasons, so they didn't pour concrete on the new posts until late in the day. Because of that, Joe said, he couldn't do any work on Saturday. But what he COULD have done is repair the damage to the section of fence he had destroyed that wasn't part of the job. STRIKE TWO. They got about half of the job up on Sunday without incident, but it took all of Monday to finish the project. Actual time was twice that of his estimate. STRIKE THREE. Oh, and I shouldn't neglect to mention that their company truck left massive oil stains on the street in front of my house and a neighbor too. We'll try to forget all the irritated phone calls I had to field from disgruntled neighbors as well. On the plus side, the fence itself looks to be a good job and they cleaned up the site extremely well. Not nearly enough to counter all the negatives.

February 2024, I paid $650 for Fernando Garcia of Fernando Landscape Design to build a gate on my…read moreproperty. A few days later a post connected to the gate had curved/bent he mentioned it was due to weather being damp/wet. Nevertheless the gate wouldn't shut. Fernando preceded to say not problem I can fix it for $120. I advised him no I am not going to pay an additional fee for your mistak as I have already paid you $650. I had to be firm because this guy was trying to get more money for something he should have done correctly the first time. He backed off and agreed to redo at no cost. Several weeks later the gate was still rubbing against the and had to be forced shut in order to lock it. I texted/called left Fernando messages he never returned any of my calls nor did he answered my texts. So there you have it it have a gate that doesn't close or lock and I paid $650. The workmanship was poorly done and he refuses to correct the problem. I will attach several pictures. It's really sad to say people that are hired to do a job and if they mess up they don't want to fixand honor up to their mess. So beaware of this guy. I had to hire someone else to correct his poor workmanship, so my gate could close properly and the latch would not rub against the house. The picture of the post where the door supposed to fit to close was wobbly was not sealed properly. The screws inserted were way too short and the post against the stucco wasn't sealed. You can see that in the picture. Anyways I paid an extra $100 to correct the messed up work Fernando Garcia did and refused to return. Perhaps he was embarrassed being that would have been his third visit to correct his mistakes. Finally, be aware of this guy his workmanship building my gate was a total flop.
