Dr. Greenwald has been my neurologist for 20 years. When I first started visiting him we both had hair now neither of us has much left. Dr. Greenwald is professional and very knowledgeable. I've never had a visit with him where I felt rushed, hurried or anything less than cared for as a patient and as a person. It's really a shame that every doctor is not like him in manner. Dr. Greenwald has always been "on the money" between being authoritative, practical and honest all in one and I much appreciate that. He will talk with me in as deep and technical language as I can follow or as simple as I would like. He is careful to be sure I understand. He has never been dismissive or condescending. He also has a great sense of humor. In a recent visit he was trying to remember the name of a place I was asking him about and he said "I think I need a neurologist". If you need a neurologist, I really don't think you could do better than Dr. G. Lastly, another reviewer commented how they had to wait for an hour. I've never had to wait more than about 15 minutes for my appointments with him, so it may have been an anomaly.

Dr. Greenwald may have recently retired (happily for him). He has delivered cautious, comprehensive…read more and thoughtful care to me for many years. He is funny, clearly very sharp, and will do everything he can to support healing and with what are often complicated neurological conditions. He really does care so much about his patients and brings a welcome wry wit to treatments too. Dr Greenwald has a great staff surrounding him ( *Carla, moving heaven & earth to get patients what they need) at PAMF. If he does retire, the team at the neurology department at Mountain View PAMF are strong too.

While he reached the same conclusion as the other doctor, the way he explained the results--with clarity, context, and genuine care--completely changed my outlook. He has supported me throughout recovery by monitoring my progress, adjusting treatment as needed, clearly explaining test results, and, when medically appropriate, advocating on my behalf. His office is responsive, efficient, and easy to work with, and I can access appointment summaries, prescriptions, and invoices through a secure online portal. The difference between his care and that of big providers is night and day. If you want a neurologist who combines medical expertise with compassion and insight, Dr. Ostashko is outstanding.

During the office exam he asked me many leading questions but I never felt like he listened to my answers. He seemed to want to convince me that I was stressed out. He also seemed to want to convince me that I have a very healthy brain based on a recent MRI and that he could find nothing physically wrong with me. He told me my issues were likely due to something called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). He referred me to Stanford's website where I found out that this is the newest name for what was historically called Hysteria in women, AKA Conversion Disorder. See Stanford website: https://med.stanford.edu/psychiatry/patient_care/fnd.html I compare this to taking your car to the mechanic and after only checking the fluid levels in the engine, they tell you nothing is wrong with your car, you just need to sign up for driving lessons. Who would go to a mechanic with such a shallow understanding of a car? I don't believe I could have ever received an accurate diagnosis with this doctor. I went to another neurologist and as it turns out, I have a very serious and physical neurological disease, one that requires medication and medical attention.

Long Version: I came to Dr. Wachhorst for a surgical consult in early 2021. I was 29 at the time and had been experiencing debilitating back pain since late 2019. I was an active person and found myself reduced from trail half marathons to ginger walks around the block. I was in a bad place. From the day I met him, Dr. Wachhorst instilled a sense of optimism and hope. He clearly and kindly walked me through my options, giving me his (very logical) perspective but never once pushing me towards one decision or another. I met with three other surgeons but felt most comfortable and confident with him to carry out my microdiscectomy. I would make this decision again a thousand times over. Dr. Wachhorst and his staff are highly competent and made me feel like I was in the best hands. After waking up from my surgery, my pain had entirely vanished. I was even able to go for a mile-long walk the day after. The delicate procedure left me with a 1" scar, which has healed beautifully and is barely detectable. I am now sitting here a little over a year after my procedure, still completely pain-free, writing this long overdue review. Thank you, Dr. Wachhorst, for giving me my life back. I have my first half-marathon in 4 years scheduled thanks to you, and I am just so grateful to be able to run, jump, and play again. You are very, very appreciated.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have found Brain Wellness Center and have them help me with my life long struggle with Depression and Anxiety. I've have been on this journey for 28 years and felt like I've tried almost everything. Brain Wellness Center is the only thing that has brought a measurable amount of relief with the exception of a very intensive 3 year meditation program. With Brain Wellness Center, I felt relief within 3 weeks! I couldn't believe it. I became less anxious and less depressed. It's like I'm looking at life now with rose colored glasses. I never thought this would be possible. I'm even way less irritable before that time of the month and have less PMS symptoms overall. They should add that to their marketing. To be clear, my problems or memories did not disappeared. It's so odd but I just don't get as anxious and it's way easier for me to think positively about things. It's like magic. I just feel so incredibly thankful to have had this opportunity to find something that actually works! And I can't say enough good things about the entire process and staff at Brain Wellness Center. From day one they made the process exceptionally smooth and seamless. They worked directly with my insurance and communications were always prompt and easy. The treatments are highly customized to each patient. They informed me about the process every step of the way so there were never any surprises. The office staff in San Jose, Ana and Christian, are such a pleasure to work with and be around, I felt like they were becoming my second family. Plus they both worked hard to make things super comfortable and friendly. Ana and Christian both deserve a raise for how hard they work every day. They have both been in this business for a very long time and that level of experience and expertise is priceless! The doctors at Brain Wellness Center are wonderful to work with as well. They are kind and friendly and truly seem to care about the patients. I honestly can't say enough good things about Brain Wellness Center and how amazing my experience was and how grateful I am. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I have already been telling every one about my experience. How easy and pain free the whole process was for me. It's been three weeks now since I stopped my treatments and I still feel so incredible. Don't hesitate to give them a call to see if they can help you too. Good luck.

About two years ago I was diagnosed with light to moderate CSVD (cerebral small vessel disease, over 11 brain lesions - basically loss of small blood vessels in the brain from an MRI brain scan. Very scary when first disclosed. This coincided with dizzy spells and lightheadedness that I had been experiencing. I have had lots of tests to rule out many other conditions such as heart, blood tests, etc. and they found nothing wrong. Even with all these other tests done, she refused to consider that my disequilibrium spells were related to the CSVD condition, she said it's just part of normal aging and has just refused to authorize a follow up MRI to monitor the progression of this potentially very serious brain condition. One data point is never good and I really need a follow up scan to see how this potentially very serious brain condition is progressing. It's really odd that she has almost all 5 star reviews (out of about 45) on one Google review site but on Yelp and other review sites I found, she has much worse reviews, averaging only about a very poor 2.6/5.

Dr. Yao has truly changed my life…read more When I was first diagnosed with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), an IVF clinic doctor told me that having a child naturally would be nearly impossible--and that IVF was my only option. I felt devastated and overwhelmed. I wasn't emotionally ready for IVF and couldn't stop thinking about the physical and emotional toll it might take on me. Around that time, I found Dr. Yao while searching for fertility support on Yelp. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Yao took a holistic and deeply personalized approach. She ordered comprehensive lab tests--not just focused on fertility, but on my entire body's well-being. She helped me understand that fertility is not isolated; it's part of a complex, interconnected system. Through her care, I discovered that in addition to POI, I also had insulin resistance and hormonal imbalances. Dr. Yao addressed each of these issues with a customized treatment plan, one step at a time. After every visit, she would give me clear, practical, and actionable steps to improve both my fertility and my overall health. Over the course of six months, we closely monitored my hormones and lab markers while I worked on building a healthier lifestyle. And then--I got pregnant naturally. Throughout my pregnancy, Dr. Yao has continued to support me with regular check-ins, lab monitoring, supplements, and medications as needed. Her advice is always backed by the latest research, and her knowledge is incredibly up-to-date. I've felt confident and reassured every step of the way, knowing I'm receiving the best possible care for my unique situation. In fact, I've felt more energetic and healthier during this pregnancy than I did during my first one. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Yao and credit her for so much of this journey. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for real, root-cause solutions to infertility or any women's health issues--not just band-aid treatments. She is compassionate, insightful, and genuinely invested in your long-term well-being. Thank you, Dr. Yao!
