This company sucks. I hired them to get a valuation to counter the insurance when my car got totaled in Austin. Rather than provide the valuation for Austin, they did it for Dallas, Dallas! Cars are consistently several thousands cheaper over there, check it yourself. Their excuse is that they couldn't find comparables with the exact same options, same year, and same miles in Austin. That's not how appraisal works, you are supposed to compare to the local market, and adjust the value for options, miles, etc. If you ever had an appraisal for a house, you know they'll compare to houses in the neighborhood even if bigger, smaller, newer, and adjust for those differences. It would be nonsense to compare the house you are selling to the cheapest neighborhood in town just because you had added a porch and the only house for sale with a porch is in that neigborhood. The insurance company compared to cars in Austin and adjusted up and down for differences, but I thought they were undervaluing for the condition of the car, so I wanted an independent local market appraisal. These guys claimed they could provide that, but instead compared to cheaper cars in Dallas and came over $1000 LOWER than the insurance company appraisal. I spent almost $400 to get a worthless report valuing my car for Dallas. When I confronted them about that and sent them links to cars in Austin with the exact same options and same year they still came out with excuses for not using them like the miles were lower, or had this or that extra package. Don't use them if you want an honest local market valuation. If you are trying to get an undervalued report to lower the price of a car you are buying, perhaps they are helpful, but then I bet they would manage to find the most expensive cars to compare to and your report is worthless again.

They changed to a new payment system that charges the customer a %3 processing fee on every purchase. That comes out to be a lot when your bill is a few thousand dollars. The only alternative they offer to avoid the fee is Zelle, which doesn't allow money transfers over $500. So, now I am stuck paying an additional $100+ that wasn't mentioned to me from the start and wasn't included in my estimate. Pretty unfair in my opinion. I was going to be a lifetime customer, but not disclosing hidden fees until the very end will force me to take my business elsewhere.

I decided to give them a shot after such an incredible experience getting my windows tinted at their other shop. I am car illiterate and they're super patient with me. They've caught and thoroughly explained improper past fixes and what kinds of issues I have. They are proactive in communication, are friendly, and the ability to get an uber ride to and from the shop on their dime is incredible. They've also given me a loaner to use when they've had my car for extended periods. My last shop (European Service Center ) felt like I was picking up a part time job just to get any communication and my car would sometimes be there days on end without getting worked on. I feel like E1 is super respectful of my time, cares about my business, is very professional, and keeps me informed without me asking- it's so refreshing and appreciated. They are not the cheapest but also not wildly expensive either; their pricing is on par with my last shop and things are actually done right. I recognize that things don't always go perfectly and care a lot about how a company reacts to makes things right. I had a slight issue with my struts repair after about 9 months after the fix and they stood behind their work no problem and fixed it promptly (they have a 3 year warranty on work done). I came in and asked for my signal light to be replaced as well as my oil and filter changed. I was told it would be ready the next day since I came in around lunch time. I brought the supplies required but I brought the wrong bulb so they used their own which is fine. I just don't know in what world it is okay to charge 79$ for a signal light replacement EVEN IF they used their own light. I bought the wrong one but they're not selling bulbs for more than 10$ at the auto store. As for the oil and oil filter I do understand I have a diesel so I'm always charged more but 99$ feels like a lot especially since I brought my own things. Everyone I told about these prices said they said it was overpriced. I don't really know much about cars or what things cost in this area which is why I was asking all my friends but I'm not coming back because I feel like it was pretty pricey and this was with a 20$ discount from the mailer.. I'm kinda disappointed because I really wanted to support a small business but never mind. They did get the work done and were very nice so this is why I gave 4 stars. These guys saved my engine…read more I had some unusual noises after repairs. Chris suggested checking the water pump and discovered the timing belt was close to breaking. I had the both the water pump and timing belt replaced at a dealership just over a year ago and was shocked that the dealership had improperly installed the timing belt. Fortunately Chris and the mechanics at the Auto Doc caught the timing belt before it broke. Highly recommend.
