My daughter lost her car keys. My wife called viking automotive. They said they had the parts to reprogram new keys to the vehicle and it should only take two days. We thought awesome. We didn't bother to read the reviews. Wife called 3 days later. They still haven't gotten to it. Said it'll be a couple more days and they'll call. 4 days passed still no phone call. Wife calls they tell her the technician to make the keys is out sick. They will call when it's ready should be the beginning of the next week. Another week passed no call. Wife called this time she spoke with the owner Jonathan. He said it's not ready because they had to special order the parts...The parts that should have already been there. There shouldn't have been any reason why there were special order parts? Unless the ordered the keys cut from saab? Don't think it would have taken 3 weeks but hey it's not my expertise. So maybe. Okay. He tells wife it should be ready in a few days. No call. Wife calls and they already know who it is. Jonathan answers and just starts talking. Every time my wife tries to speak he would just continue talking over her. Explaining that it took forever for the part to come in and now the tech will have it done by end of the day. No call... Wife calls next day...now the excuse is they don't have a tech to do it and they are waiting for a locksmith to come and program the keys...will be done by end of day. End of day he calls. It's ready. But the battery is dead and we need to buy a battery. Also they notice we added some radiator stop leak in the car and that we should get it fixed properly. Wife told him we will buy a battery. 210.05 for a battery. Wowzers. 892.50 for programing two transmitter keys to CIM. One was brand new...not cut so I'm assuming just a key off amazon. The other key was old and cut to a different vehicle. Jonathan said if we wanted the key cut it's extra...extra....? We called and asked for key fobs and key to doors unlock doors. Okay. 892 for a used and amazon key. Had car towed on the 15 of January now getting on the 12th of February. Car turned wouldn't start on the 12 when daughter tried to leave school. Went home with a friend to stay the night next day. Started to go home but now the car is saying immobilizer failed. Stearing wheel lock malfunction gearbox malfunction. Like it's just flashing in info board crazy. Just clicking back and forth. The key is no longer connecting properly to the CIM. The steering wheel locks if you don't put it in drive immediately after starting. And have to restart to throw it back into gear immediately. With the gearbox malfunction it threw the car in limp mode. Only 2nd and 5th gear. So it was Hella slow. But it would only happen when the car kept going crazy with the steering wheel lock. Friday the car left her stranded At school. And wouldn't start. After research and on saab forums found that it's the CIM not recognizing the key. And that either after waiting 2.5 hours or unplugging battery to reset it, it won't start. Unplug - replug started right up. They are closed on weekend. It's already late. Wife calls viking Monday morning. They schedule her an appointment for Friday the 21st. 21st comes around we take the car. We show the nice lady at the desk what's going on. I told her I feel like the "special order part" was a used CIM paired with an key already since one key is old and cut to another vehicle and the other is new. She said that's not possible because she orders them directly from saab and they come precut to the vehicle. We showed her the keys and said she needs to go over everything with 'them' to figure out why. And have them check it out because the CIM shouldn't be doing that. That they don't use used parts and all their work has a 3 year warranty. I was like...well this key is for damn sure used. Soooo. Something seems fishy. EOD we get call. They said technician checked codes. CIM is throwing codes like crazy and it's not under warranty and we only paid for fobs. CIM was fine before. After leaving exact review on Google. Wife got message to call. I called. Was told we didn't get key cut because saab didn't approve it. Price stayed the same though. For half the product that was agreed upon. Payed for a service of two complete working keys. Not just the fob. But apparently it was all just miscommunication. And they have sooo many saabs just because they are known for the computer to go bad. Guess mine conveniently went bad immediately after picking up. They were concerned about the fishy part on my review...to assure me nothing fishy happened. Since I was on the forums I should know saabs are known for having issues. It was the woman who we dropped it off to on the 21st. The one that says she's the one who orders all the keys from saab and they all come cut. now she remembers saab didn't approve the key cut. read more

I had an absolutely horrendous experience at this auto repair shop. When my car's engine light turned on, I took it to them, hoping for a straightforward fix. Instead, they came back with a $2,000 estimate. After consulting with friends, I learned that an engine light can indicate various issues, and it seemed this place wanted to address every possible problem, whether necessary or not. I decided to approve only the work that seemed most likely to fix the engine light, and they agreed. (Update: I have been driving the car for a while and it's good, so the likely issue was the actual issue). The next day, when I went to pick up my car, I noticed two employees outside looking nervous and worried. They told me to wait inside, assuring me my car would be ready in a few minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes, they informed me that my car didn't start and demanded over $400 to fix it. I was shocked. I had come in for a simple engine light issue, refused their $2,000 estimate, and now they wanted more money to repair the car starter that was perfectly fine before I brought the car in. After complaining and arguing that the car stater was fine before, they gave me some discount. I was very upset and wanted to be done with all that and paid the extra work. They are very unprofessional telling me that my husband's car, which he had previously brought there, wasn't welcome there anymore. I'm totally disappointment of this place. I cannot recommend Viking Automotive enough! I was having issues with my car overheating and took it to a Firestone at first where I was quoted $8-11,000 for a brand new engine with NO explanation of what was wrong. I found Viking and brought it in for a second opinion where I was met with extremely personal, friendly, and professional service by Corrine, Danielle, and Jonathan. They were able to pinpoint the issue was specifically with the head gasket and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong to me. When the car was taking longer to get ready than expected, they personally worked ALL day on a Saturday when they're usually closed in order to get my car ready in time. During the time my car was in their car, they gave me plenty of updates and always kindly answered any questions that I had. I've had my car back for about 5 days now, and it's been driving great, but they even checked in today to make sure everything was driving okay! While still not a cheap fix, my bill was definitely more affordable than the Firestone quote, and I know it was in great hands. First time client and potential future. I've always taken my Volvo to the dealership, but could change my mind after this visit. Found these guys on the web because they're near my office. They specialize in Saabs but I have a Volvo. My driver side window regulator started make noises when I used it. I replaced the entire assembly a few years ago at an expensive rate at the dealership. Asked the dealership; they quoted $2000.00 for a new replacement. I knew all it needed was lubricant on the motor and assembly. Viking took care of me with an inexpensive repair. They took off door panel and lubricated the assembly. No more noise or erratic operation. Saved so much money that it was a Christmas present to myself. Thanks again Viking. read more

Best place ever!! Their prices are reasonable and they are so helpful. I never feel like they are ripping me off or trying to make up stuff just to charge extra. Only complaint or request I would have is they are not open on the weekend and my work does not let out in time for me to make it to their shop. The place is comfortable for waiting with WiFi, and they will give you a ride if needed. They have also worked on my VW Passat. My 2003 saab needed an ECM, I had one used piece, and I towed the car and also gave the used ECM that I had no idea if works or not. They called the very next day and said they were able to program the used one and all set to go. The price was very good-programming and synthetic oil change. They also said my seat belt is not retracting and needs replaced--an important safety issue. They could have easily told me that the car needs a brand new ECM and sold one and I would not have known.
