The services was amazing our waitress make sure to check on us. Make sure to bring us our food right away and our drinks. The ambiance was wonderful, with a stunning style and atmosphere that truly stood out. The artwork felt authentic and thoughtfully chosen, adding to the overall charm. Even the details were impressive the tables and the beer bottle salt and pepper shakers were such a creative and delightful touch.

I lived nearly half my life in Arizona and California, where they know how to make good Mexican food. The food at Habanero was the blandest Mexican food I have ever encountered. Located in an industrial district, I wasn't too surprised when I pulled up after 7 one evening and it was fairly quiet. "Probably does most of its business during lunches," I thought. The hostess greeted me quickly and, when I asked if they had a bar area, she ushered me to it and I took a seat at the bar. I should probably have taken a clue from the fact that dirty glasses were clustered at the end of the bar, and there were neither bartender nor other patrons in sight. The other dinner patrons were in the dining room. Chips and salsa came quickly, followed by my bartender who took my order for a house Margarita, on the rocks. "Would you like salt or sugar with that?" should have been my second clue. Sugar? On a Margarita? The chips needed salt, but fair enough. Lots of people are watching their salt, and that was easily remedied. The salsa, though, tasted more like pureed tomatoes, lacking any kind of discernable heat. Strike one. The Margarita was also a disappointment: watery and weak. Though she poured the mix from a jug, it's not uncommon to prepare a large batch of mix early in the day and add tequila just before service, but that was not the issue here. Flavor and any punch from the tequila were conspicuously absent. Strike two. For my solid food, I ordered a chili relleno, my litmus test of a good Mexican place. While delivered quickly and piping hot temperature-wise, the sauce had an unusual sweetness to it while the poblano pepper had no. Heat. Whatsoever. Strike three. When I stood up, signaling that I was ready to leave, the server simply said, "You're ready for your check?" My Margarita was only about one-third gone, and I'd only taken a few bites of my relleno. An astute restaurant professional would have noticed that very little had been eaten and would have asked if everything was all right. It wasn't, but they either didn't notice or knew not to ask. A good four- or five-star experience - even after a single visit - will encourage repeat visits and a positive review will encourage others to try the establishment. A one-star experience, especially when it's the first visit, will not inspire the patron to give the place a second chance, and a review based on that single experience will likely have a chilling effect. Sorry to be "that guy," but I won't be back.

There are several hand painted murals. Gentle Mexican themed music played in the background. Water and complimentary chips came out quickly. A covered cup was brought to our granddaughter, he had her pegged right. The menu is standard Mexican with many lunch specials. I had a lunch special with a chili relleno, taco and beans. The chili relleno stole the show! It was delicious, stuffed with cheese and ground beef covered in sauce. The beans tasted freshly prepared. The taco was crispy and generously filled. My husband had the burrito and taco lunch special with rice. He said the burrito was good. Our granddaughter ordered the chicken nuggets and fries off the kids menu. The nuggets were prepared from frozen mixed chicken nuggets and she did not like or eat them. I'd say her meal was a bust. She ended up eating my husband's rice. Our server checked on us multiple times and kept waters filled. I'd say it was a fairly good experience with the exception of the kid's meal. There's plenty of parking.

They feature some unique items on their menu, and everything I have ever tried has been delicious. My favorite is the veggie quesadilla, it is very different than the average quesadilla that is served at other Mexican restaurants. I always order the platter that comes with rice and beans, because both are excellent. The red sauce has heat but is very flavorful. I always order extra red sauce to take home. If you don't care for hot sauces but enjoy flavor you can mix a little sour cream into the red sauce to make it milder. Service is always friendly and helpful. Tortas Johann is the best reason to visit Kokomo!

It was way too cold in there today. The wall thermostat said 75 but that couldn't be accurate. Service was fast. Mom got the shrimp fajitas and loved them. We got a beef chimichanga and cheesy chicken breast. That chicken breast swimming in a piping hot skillet of queso was phenomenal! They served everything with black beans and rice along with guacamole and sour cream. We spoke to the server later and he said they do have the refried beans on request. I love all beans but I will likely ask for the refried next time. They margaritas were well worth the money. If you want a stiff drink that's the one to order. I am not a big salsa person but even I could tell theirs was on the watery side. No big deal to us but a lot of people love salsa and I don't think this one will win any awards. I got a Coke to drink and it was terrible. This seems to be common place anymore as Coke and Pepsi don't go out and service the machines like they used to. So I am not sure who to fault for that. This place is heavy on breakfast so if you're looking for that then they got it. They also have lunch specials every day 11-3 we went for the all in dinner menu. We will definitely be back!
