Arrived late. It is great arriving here…read more I've arrived at Hualapai Lodge since about 1993. I was what the old-timer's called an "Indian Agent." For 36 years I had a professional relationship with our Nation's tribes in Natural Resource Issues; farming, grazing, transportation, forestry, wildland fire, fire rehabilitation, forest and woodland fuels. Tribal business sense and economic development skills have grown, developed and steadily appeared. In 1981, two Traditional Elders of the Yakama and Wanapum Bands of the Columbia River said, "...We're gonna Indianize you chris..." That has happened no matter where my feet landed. Because I was formally introduced to the Baha'i Faith by a Yakama Tribal member, signing my "declaration card" on the Yakama Nation, I have participated in sharing and discussions many of my "Last of the White Guys" co-workers never knew. My views toward "Indian Country" are weighted to the positive side. I see the positive, not so much the negative. I know the distance traveled since my wife's mother was removed from her home, age 7, and trucked to the Truxton Canyon Boarding School, later to the Phoenix Indian School. That is why we booked our stay here on TripAdvisor. We ended up driving more than our planned 6 hours per day, arriving 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May, 23, 2026. We called ahead as the sky darkened. Our room waited, reserved as contracted. What did we expect? Comfortable bed, bathing and brushing, some rest, a morning meal. Be advised, Peach Springs is the source of "The Peach Springs Oscillator." The Pacific Railroad Act of 1862, "An Act to aid in the construction of a railroad and telegraph line from the Missouri river to the Pacific ocean, and to secure to the government the use of the same for postal, military, and other purposes." To sweeten the pot for railroad builders, the U.S. Government granted every other 640 acre, 1 square mile "section" of land five miles either side of the railroad right of way. The route of the 1855 railway survey passed through the Traditional Use Area of the Hualapai People. December 8, 1941, the Hualapai People won their right to their aboriginal lands in the U.S. Supreme Court. https://www.fjc.gov/history/spotlight-judicial-history/hualapai-and-aboriginal-title The flattest part of Hualapai lands are the right of way for the Union Pacific Railroad. The Hialapai Lodge is built on the former railroad townsite of Peach Springs, on Old Route 66. You will hearrailroad locomotives thrumming along the nearby tracks. I have no prolem with railroad noise. Semi trucks and their Jake Brakes, railroad sounds are the soundtrack of my life. The Peach Springs Oscillator is time passed between each train. In booming rcomomies, a train every 20 minutes. Slowing economies, mote time between trains. Our economy is slowing in 2026 - at least in goods hauled by railroad. We had an excellent rest, clean sheets, comfy bed. Good selection of channels on our flat screen. We were pleased with our choice.

The only service we had was in the lodge using their "captive" wi fi which said it would sell our information to 3rd parties as we had to provide email and name and zip to connect..not ideal. The other thing is no alcohol is allowed on the property at all even in the room or face a $200 fine. I understand if the tribe doesn't want to sell alcohol, but a beer in the room...this should be allowed.

It's pristine! Mike and Reinhardt clearly love and take care of their business. I swear they paint and caulk every single day! They go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. Each room has a cute theme like the Train Room, Movie Star Room and Grand Canyon Room. The continental breakfast serves the best German coffee and great food to grab and go. Their is a patio on the second floor that has a great view of the town and mountains. It's perfect for having a couple drinks and enjoying the weather. We just LOVE staying here and the price is right. Thank you M & R for all that you do for the little cute town of Seligman!

There is a small restaurant and restrooms here. There is plenty of parking for vehicles at the bottom and a shuttle or tour bus will take you up to the top where the viewing area is. I called Hualapai Lodge Resort three times, got generic answering messages, left voicemail on each of the two options. No reply came back. Nothing. When I called nearby Hualapai Mountain State Park, they knew nothing about problems at the lodge, and all their RV spaces were first come, first served. So we had to drive there. The first sign of trouble was no visible cars in the Lodge's lot. Then we saw the Roto Rooter trucks. Turns out the Lodge had septic system problems, and would be completely closed until the next day. There'd been no announcement of this in their answering messages, nothing to let callers know they were closed, short of driving up there. Customer service is definitely dead. We went back to Hualapai Mountain State Park, and were lucky enough to get a site. It was inexpensive, level and quiet. We're NEVER going back to the Lodge again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of this place. The owners are very nice people and the room was spotless and smelled clean. It seemed like they just went through an extensive renovation, because even the windows and A/C units seemed brand new, but I forgot to ask. There is coffee and some breakfast foods in the office in the mornings. Location is very convenient, close to the Interstate, right on Old Route 66 along with several food options, and close to the middle of nowhere, which was a huge plus for us because we were interested in checking out the night sky away from all the light pollution of large cities. Turns out we only had to drive out about 10 minutes to find some very dark skies where you can see all the stars and even the Milky Way and lots of meteors, if you're lucky. To a bunch of city people, the stargazing was one of the high points of the trip.

The room has a super strong cleaning chemical smell, the ac is noisy, the shower is dirty with some trash in it and the curtains are almost falling down. If we hadn't got to our room so last I would complain to the manager. Fortunately we just spent one night here, less than 8 hours.

I attempted to check in at the Best Western and was refused service simply because I live locally,…read morewhich I found both shocking and offensive. Nowhere on their website or booking information does it state that local residents are not allowed to rent rooms. If that is truly their policy, it should be clearly disclosed before someone takes the time to book or show up expecting to stay. The front desk employee was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional while explaining this supposed policy. Instead of handling the situation politely or offering any kind of reasonable explanation, I was treated like I had done something wrong simply for living in the area. As a paying customer, being turned away simply because of where I live was frustrating, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable. Policies like this should be clearly stated up front instead of surprising guests at the front desk after they've already made plans. Because of this experience, I will never rent a room from a Best Western again--even when I'm traveling on the road. Customer service and transparency clearly aren't a priority here.
