This particular Huddle House is in Gunterville, Alabama and overall, offered a nice place to grab breakfast before starting a rather busy day. Huddle House is a chain of restaurants similar to Waffle House. It has that greasy-spoon diner ambiance and the service here was friendly enough. The menu is not complex and consists of easily prepared dishes, but they do those orders pretty good. Ultimately, I would recommend here. read more

Use to be go to place for food. Now they quit serving chili and salads. Portion have shrunk, especially size of burger patties. Lastly, they started charging 50 cents per egg for breakfast. Not acceptable size get eggs for less than $3-4. Will be long while before go back to eat there. read more

Sent eggs back 2 times still burnt. You would think a breakfast place could cook eggs. Not so waitress didn't care paid for my food left her 5 dollar tip. Horrible. What happened to Tamara she is good. read more

Ok, this place far exceeds "Another Broken Egg" at G'ville's City Harbor and at half their price. If you go on Sundays (he might be there other days but this is when we go), the best chef is there making fluffy omelets and eggs the way you ask for them. I only wish that superior service and positive attitudes could translate through a review - the experience of breakfast at Huddle House is incredible. Our server (I believe her name is Alexys) was so efficient and friendly, but the entire team communicates verbally the entire time - the table busser pointed us to an available seat, the cashier chats up every customer, and the cooks are calling out each order. The coordination is a thing of beauty! While they serve more than just breakfast, our two meals there were both breakfast - we stayed at the Lake Gunnerson lodge, but the 20 minutes to Huddle House were worth the trip. French toast was more to my liking than the pancakes, but they were both good. Omelettes were the best - eggs are all fresh, and they clearly go through a lot of them since the place remains busy (parking is plentiful). Prices are reasonable, and a good value for all the food you get. If I lived in the area, I'd be at Huddle House every morning! read more

We had the standard breakfast fare with the big breakfast with waffles and Southern Eggs Benedict. The service was outstanding, and they made sure our coffee was full. The Eggs Benedict were okay, nothing special, but the hash browns and accompanying sides were really good. Went in to eat tonight place was empty. Server came over took our order (wrote it down) and had to walk back 3 times to ask what my boyfriend ordered ... all while playing with her long braided hair. Please tell her to stop playing with any part of her hair in a restaurant. When she brought food out she hovered.. every 2 minutes she was at table we couldn't have a conversation for her asking how was things. She didn't do it in a way that we felt taken care of we felt uncomfortable and not able to enjoy our meal. When I went to pay even tho she had been to our table a dozen times in 20 min she said hi how are you like I just walked in door the food was decent but this server needs to be taught how to serve and she has no social skills. This server not knowing what she's doing ruined our meal. Please train them more. read more

Well we all know what this restaurant, Ihop, Denny's, and Waffle House are all about. It's eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, grits, hash brown potatoes, steak and eggs, etc, etc. This Huddle House is either new or recently remodeled. It's clean, pleasant, and inviting. My wife and I came by on an early Sat night too early for the inebriated. So, lacking a bad floor show of drunken bubbas made for pleasant conversation as the only entertainment. Coffee is good and bottomless - check. I had a puffy Santa Fe omelet with sausage patty, grits and toast - check. My wife had a short stack of pancakes, bacon, and grits - check. In and out about 30 minutes. Agree with Don E's review. Our waitress left after taking our order. When the meal arrived, I was missing large milk. Asked about it then received milk after sever went on a tour of all customers. I prefer my milk with my meal. But in this case, I drank it after meal was finished. Had breakfast here this morning. The whole atmosphere is different in there. The servers are friendly. They act like they are happy you are there. The cook line is rocking. The building is clean. Been eating here for years but suddenly the staff are all new and the service was terrible. Waited for coffee, waited to have order taken, and different servers would come around and say, "we'll be right back with that" only to disappear never to be seen again! Finally decided to just leave which was a decision that we rarely make. They tried to serve us our order as we were walking out the door! Incredible! Something happened down there recently, and it is not just us. My mother in law took some friends visiting there recently for breakfast and had a very similar experience. They got their food in the end but she said the whole staff seemed confused and disorganized. Hate to say this but none of us will be going back again, and remember this is after more than ten years of patronage of the Guntersville store. We have yet to try other local Huddle House stores but I think they are all managed by a local person - or used to be.... read more

This place is normally a nice place for an inexpensive and quick hearty meal. I like to eat their breakfast even midday. Never had any issues here before, but there must be some personnel turnovers. Worst service...ever! Finished coffee and had to wait on refill...twice! Asked for hot sauce for eggs. Ate all but eggs, cold eggs, before I got the hot sauce. These folks have an issue which needs to be addressed by management. Very disappointed. read more

Great food!! Me and my wife first come to guntersville four years ago. The first place we came to eat breakfast was this huddle house. That's when I fell in love with this place. Now every time we are in Guntersville we must eat here and every time I get a philly cheese steak omelet. The staff makes us feel welcome and the service is always quick. read more

My family Loves eating at Huddle House when we are in Guntersville. Kids love the waffles and I love the Patty Melt. The staff is always friendly and smiling. Great place for dinner as well. read more
