Best country cook I've had in a long time. Wish it was closer to where I live. Great service. Good prices.

My family dined in here today, was between rush times so it wasn't packed nearly at all. The whole time we are there, the rude old lady at the counter kept yelling at her employees and changed her tone only for the guests. Leadership is not a skill set she has for sure. As we are about to get up, our server was helping another table, so we asked the lady at the front for a to-go drink. She gets off her lazy butt, walks all the way into the back, and tells our server to stop what she's doing to get us a to-go drink, and walks back up to sit down... the server didn't hear all the way and brought out a regular cup. She is now getting on to the employee for not listening to her correctly... I feel sorry for anyone who works with her, especially the servers who have to tend to her needs while doing their job. What a shame, don't know if I'd go back just so I don't hear her rude attitude again. Do better lady! Food was great though! read more

Very friendly service and good food. This is one of our "go to" spots when we are visiting family in the Arab area. Our favorites: Fried Potatoes, Turnip Greens and the Onion Rings are our preferred sides. Catfish has a very crispy cornmeal batter. Steaks - prepared well and good flavor... just cut a little thin. I prefer a thicker cut steak. Hamburger Steak(s) - no complaints! read more

Very good food, especially the dessert. Friendly service and a very clean restaurant.

The steak was really great. I would recommend the 16 ounce ribeye. Ordered medium rare with the emphasis on rare and it was perfect. Service was exceptional and so was the price point. My wife & I eat @ Town & Country about once a week, occasionally more. It just doesn't get any better. The food, service & atmosphere are second to none. The staff are some of the sweetest people in the world. I'm not positive who cooks the food there but they have found their calling. If you're looking to try a different restaurant, Town & Country in Arab, Al would be my first recommendation. They're the BEST!!! read more

Yesterday after leaving Cook & Company we decided to stop at a new restaurant we saw on our way headed to Arab. Town & Country Restaurant was open and lucky for us it was Thursday. The restaurant is open Thursday thru Sunday at 3pm. Not knowing what to order we picked up a few dishes to try. Hubs wanted catfish with turnip greens and green beans. I ordered smoked chicken plate with turnip greens and green beans. We ordered a pound of pork barbecue and a salad with smoked chicken and ranch dressing. Hubs catfish was excellent and my smoked chicken was good. It didn't have a "smoked" taste and no white sauce. The salad with smoked chicken and fresh ranch was very good. The barbecue pork was good but no "smoked" taste or any type of sauce to put on the pork. I missed the white sauce and vinegar style sauce popularly served with pork barbecue. The green beans tasted sweet so we didn't eat them. The turnip greens were great. If there had been white or vinegar sauces served, I would have rated my experience as 5 stars. We will stop there the next time we are in Arab. Yum. read more

They have a great breakfast on Saturdays. Everything was cooked to perfection. Server was attentive when refilling coffee.

The atmosphere is great. The wait time on the food was very minimal. I totally recommend steak night on Saturday. Its outstanding. We go there quite often. They never disappoint. read more

Absolutely the worse food I've ever had in a restaurant and I'm 65 years old. The fried seafood tasted like it was reheated leftovers from a few days before. The 10 tiny "cajun" shrimp had no flavor or spice. The fried oysters were not fresh and probably from a can. The onion rings were limp and oily. And finally the turnip greens tasted like out of a can and overcooked. My wife doesn't care for fried food so she had the cheese burger. When she asked the waitress for medium rare, she laughed and said well I'll tell them. It came well done and my said said it tasted like it was left under a heat lamp all day, dry and flavorless. Her french fries were not fresh either. And to top it off the cost before tip was over $40 and that was without alcohol, which they don't serve, but probably should. If you're looking for good, freshly cooked and flavorful seafood, this is not the place. If you like overpriced, reheated, oily fried foods then this is your place. The waitress was somewhat attentive and polite, so for that reason only I give this place one star. read more

We absolutely love this place! It's our every Friday night destination and it's what I look forward to all week. The staff is amazing, like coming home to family. The menu has a ton of options and we have tried almost all of it and haven't had one bad thing yet. The strawberry cake is TO DIE FOR. You're missing out if you drive by and don't stop in. read more

THE OWNER IS RUDE AND THEY WAY OVER SALT THEIR FOOD. We went to their restaurant in Hartselle for the first time today. I had a club sandwich with fries (frozen). I took one bite from the sandwich and it was so salty I could NOT eat it. First of all, any club sandwich I have ever had before at other restaurants was never this salty and the meat is always cold, never gilled. It wasn't the bacon either because I ate a little piece of it while trying to figure out what was so salty and it wasn't the bacon. So it must have been the ham that someone salted apparently or the ham they use is way over salted in itself. They also grill the ham and cheese so then that made the bread all greasy. The fries were also way over salted. Way too much salt. I told the waitress I couldn't eat it and to please just remove it off my check. She said the owner would come talk to me. She never did. In fact, we waited quite a while and finally had to just go to the counter where the owner was so we could check out and leave. I told her I was the one who couldn't eat the sandwich as it was too salty. She just gave me a dirty look and not one apology nor I'm sorry you didn't like it, nothing. She just proceeded to argue with me that it was not salty that it must have been the bacon, that bacon is salty. I said it wasn't the bacon, perhaps it was the ham but it was way too salty and I could not eat it. She said they don't salt their ham and I said I don't know why it was so salty but it was. She just kept going on and on and on. So she said was taking off the tea. I said my husband had the tea and drank it so we needed to pay for that. She said she was just trying to offset it since I had to drink more because of the salt (in other words, she was not removing the sandwich). I said what you'll need to do is take off that sandwich. I had one bite and didn't eat anymore of it nor the fries because they WERE SO SALTY! She then started in again - continuing to argue with the customer! I said I am not paying for a sandwich I couldn't nor didn't eat. I had one bite out of it and to remove it from my ticket. Then she just kept on and on as she was doing my ticket (and btw she actually charges a fee to use a debt card). As I turned to leave she just kept on and on still. She was so rude! Never, not one apology - no effort whatsoever to try to salvage a customer. She just wanted to argue. I did tell her it would do her well to never argue with a customer - it is not good business. It is just one of those meat-and-three blue plate places but the food is terrible. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! BTW my husband had the shrimp basket which was tiny little popcorn shrimp and few of those and the same frozen fries. TERRIBLE! read more

If you are looking for a great family restaurant, this is the place to go. The menu has so many different options and the staff is friendly. The food is always hot and cooked perfect. The prices are definitely right for the amount of food that you receive. Just make sure you save room for there amazing DESSERTS!!!! read more
