I've been going to this office for about three years and my previous visits were good, very happy with the hygienist. Haven't needed anything major. Today I arrive on schedule for my appt and was handed an iPad-type device and the receptionist said they needed some paperwork updated. I assumed it was just the annual HIPAA update which needs to be renewed annually. But this was a multiple page complete medical history that would've taken me 15-20 minutes to complete. I had another commitment immediately following this appt that I did not want to be late for and the office had previously always been right on time. I also felt the questionnaire was asking for way more detail than a dental office needs. After completing a few pages I approached the receptionist and said that if they truly needed this level of detail it could have been requested prior to the appt. Her response, which is what raised my ire was, "Well this is me and I'm asking for this information prior to your appt." A bit snarky, very inappropriate. I will admit to being a senior and not crazy about computerized forms if I don't have the ability to do it on my own device and at my own leisure. Properly responding to their questions (e.g. have your had prior hospitalizations) takes time and reference to my personal records to properly complete. I will miss this office and my hygienist as it was very convenient to my home. read more

So I hate going to the dentist (not because I'm afraid of them I'm just lazy) anyways I went in for tooth pain and when I say they were friendly I mean I felt so comfortable being there. I called on Wednesday and they got me in Friday, that's crazy to me. They were super nice as soon as I got there. And they helped me with several teeth problems I was having besides just the reason I went in. They quickly helped me and got me scheduled for a desperate cleaning in the following week. Just saw this female dentist, who told me I needed crowns and all this stuff done, gave me a bill cuz said my insurance wouldn't cover crowns, which it obviously does. What insurance doesn't? It even says on bill she gave me what my yearly policy limit was & had a ton of cash available. Went on my plans website and found where it says I'm approved for crowns and even how many per year. Middle aged white female dentist has been so rude numerous times that I can't believe anyone goes to this or any Hudec Dental. I'd avoid as what I've experienced is scamming you for cash. If I could give this company 0 stars I would! My family and I have had experiences at the Middleburg Heights and Strongsville dental locations AND with their orthodontist - all absolutely horrific. I'll start with myself. I went to see the Hudec orthodontist for an invisalign consultation as I'm looking to straighten my teeth. I had braces for 5 years prior, but was non compliant with my retainer. She told me I was not appropriate for invisalign and tried to sell me on braces. I told her that I was not interested in braces and she told me that was all she could do for me. She listed numerous reasons why I would not be a candidate for invisalign. She was very rude suggesting that I had no idea what I was talking about. I left the appointment discouraged and went to see a different (well known) orthodontist. I didn't mention anything about my previous consultation. He recommended invisalign and I am SO pleased with the results. My teeth are completely back to how they were after I got my braces off at 15 years old. I am so happy that I went with a second opinion- so I definitely would not recommended Hudec ortho if you are looking for invisalign treatment. First red flag. 6 months ago at the Strongsville location - they told me that I had 2 cavities on my lower back teeth that I needed filled. I even scheduled to have the cavities filled 2x but ended up not going (one time the dentist was not in office and the other time I could not make it). Never ended up following up with them. I went 3 weeks ago on August 9th and after my X-rays, they told me my teeth were perfect! No cavities (the previous cavities mysteriously disappeared????) I didn't say anything to the dentist about my "old" cavities because I did not trust them at this point. I went to my orthodontist today (not affiliated with Hudec) and she told me that I had 2 cavities on my upper teeth and showed me! They were so visible! She asked me when I went to the dentist last and I told her 3 weeks ago! She was looking at pictures that were taken 8/2 (7 days prior to my dentist appt). Told me to find a new dentist because these should not have been missed.... Absolutely disgusted! So to sum it up - they told me I had 2 cavities (not the ones that I actually had), then told me I had perfect teeth during my next visit then for me to find out that I actually do have cavities just not the ones they told me! Scammers! For my sister, the dentist at the Middleburg Heights location told her that she had numerous cavities (this was suspicious because she has never had a cavity in her life). After my poor experience with them, she decided to get another opinion. They said she had no cavities and the dental hygienist stated that she used to work for the company and Hudec is known for giving false treatment recommendations to make money. I have been coming to Hudec Dental strongsville location for so many years I actually don't remember going to another dentist! I have to give a shout out to Eileen Pace, who is my hygienist extraordinaire. she is so talent and kind, I am never is pain, and she is so personable that I am distracted as she works and the next th8ng I know she's DONE! I have known Dr Tran since she was in her residency and she is also so personable and kind you forget she's about to drill your teeth. I have never had a bad experience and definitely recommend this practice to anyone who is hesitant regarding their dental care. read more

They are terrible. My teeth condition became far worse than I went in. They somehow manipulate and get more stars. Many reviews here are only one star but the total is somehow four stars. On their website, there are more than six hundred reviews and all are five stars and no single review is less than five. They are interested only in your money not your dental health. This place is designed to extract money from you with treatments that you don't need. They have young and inexperienced doctors mostly from the orient (Korea?). Those guys just walk around and do nothing. If you ask questions, you get limited answers. Then they go back and continue to walk up and down the aisle doing nothing. Although many nurses are good, some are really rude. At one point, they damaged a good tooth and wanted to extract that out. Otherwise, I would be in serious and intolerable pain because of nerve damage. Unwillingly, I agreed to the extraction. They mulled this way and that way unable to extract and used severe force to finally pull it out. I was screaming in pain. At one point, I touched the doctor's hand in pain. The nurse was rude and told me that I should never never hold the dentist's hand. I wanted to slap her in the face that I'm paying for all this. For two weeks, I was in debilitating pain that I could not eat, work or get out of the house. They didn't prescribe any strong painkillers (if they did, then their mistake would become obvious). At the start, they gave me a treatment plan totaling more than $10,000, and when I agreed to it, the doctor had a big glee (I sold it!). And at every visit in the treatment routine, the bill went up. My husband has been here a few times. He went about 6 weeks ago and they said his gum was soft and he probably had an infection. They put some type of antibiotic in his gums that works over a 30 day period. His insurance did not cover this and it cost $100.00. They made an appointment for him to come back in 6 months. This Friday the tooth started hurting so he called and they told him to come in. They took an x-ray and told him he needed a root canal. They gave him an antibiotic and sent him on his merry way. That afternoon the tooth broke and he was in a lot of pain. He called and left a message for his regular dentist there and got NO call back. He managed to get thru the weekend and called them again today at lunch. He had to leave a message and had NO call back by 5 pm. He stopped by there after and they gave him an appointment for tomorrow AM so they can look at it. We are both very disappointed at their lack of response and lack of compassion for someone in pain. I am trying to persuade him to find another dentist to go to after this tooth issue is resolved. One that actually cares!!! Update: He went back today and they had to pull the tooth. Not happy. I had Dr. Tran. I'd hoped to return and upgrade/write a better review, but after my last visit, I decided I'd really rather never come back. My first visit, we had to do some initial X-rays. I was hoping for a simple cleaning. I never got one. I've had x-rays and teeth filled, but no cleaning. Complaints: - The staff always seems "out of it," like they have no idea why I'm there. Oddly, it's like they're a bunch of air-heads. I'm not saying they -are-, but I kept getting that impression every time I talked to them. I keep calling up and setting up appointments, and then, when I sit in the chair, I don't know why this terrifies me, but they ask me why I'm there. I feel, when I sit in a dentist's chair, they should look at my chart or the reason why I called and set up the appointment and -TELL ME- why I'm there: at least repeat what I said to them on the phone. - Bite wing x-rays hurt, and they don't seem to care. I have a hyperactive gag reflex, and I've warned them. They jam that little square of x-ray paper down into the soft tissue under my tongue and demand I sit still even though my eyes are watering and it hurts incredibly. I jerk and move and have to pull it out so I don't gag or have cuts into the soft tissue under my tongue, and they huff and get all aggravated that I moved, then do it again. - I get SCORNED for my lack of dental hygiene. I haven't been to a dentist for a tooth cleaning in over 8 years because I've been going through a rough time and have not had insurance and have actually been struggling with depression. I just haven't cared about myself in awhile. I used to have -great- teeth and didn't have a cavity until college. I once was proud of my teeth. It really hurts, now that my teeth are finally starting to decay. They scorn me and scoff at me for the state of my teeth and make me feel even more uncomfortable that I'm skittish in the chair. - The whole numbing process is unnecessarily uncomfortable. I don't know what's happened in dentistry school, but they've taught these people some TERRIFYING technique. They grab my cheek and jiggle it as they go in with the needle. Now, I'm not afraid of needles, but I do hate the pinching feel. And to have them dive in while -SHAKING MY FACE- is absolutely uncomfortable. I told her that last time and she stopped, but she did it again this time. They also seem to jam it in unnecessarily deep and hold it in there longer than seems necessary. I've told them that my heart rate goes crazy when getting too many injections, but they don't care. She just kept pushing the injections and not wanting the last one to wear off. It also doesn't help that she takes the time, while I'm numb to keep guilting me about my dental hygiene and what other horrible things have gone wrong while I neglected myself. They sent me off to another dentist to have my rotted-out wisdom tooth removed and told me to come back to have my other teeth filled and -then- they'd do a tooth-cleaning. After they filled my teeth, I went home and was feeling the new "teeth" and felt like a popcorn husk was stuck between my teeth, but in reality, my mind knew it was worse. It felt more like the tooth was cracked. Sure enough, 8 months later while chewing a simple piece of gum, searing pain shot into my jaw. I flossed between the teeth to clean out a bit of food, and the entire back of my tooth came out. When I called and set up an appointment to get it fixed, I told them what was wrong, and the receptionist accused me of cracking my own tooth. ...On a piece of gum. ...After they'd been drilling in there and capped it. .... I went in and Tran fixed the tooth, charging all to the insurance. Fortunately, I paid nothing out-of-pocket, but I still felt wronged. She told me what came off was all filling. She assured me repeatedly that it was "all filling." Yet, I know the back of my tooth wasn't missing when I went in to have it drilled and filled. ...It is, now. She replaced it with filling, but meanwhile pointed out two spots between my teeth that have eroded further. She chided me about flossing and told me "I'll give you one more chance." ...One more chance to do what?? You didn't even TALK to me about flossing last time, and you act like you've been lecturing me for years about flossing!!! She offered to fill both teeth this time, but I was already terrified enough by having my face shaken, jabbed, guilted and insulted about my eroding and breaking teeth. I'd gone in to have the back of -one- tooth replaced, not jabbed full of anesthetics and 3 of my teeth replaced with fake stuff. I told her I'd make it another appointment. When it finally came time to go in for the appointment, I'd had a rough day already. I couldn't handle the mental and emotional abuse. I cancelled and have decided I'm not going back ever again. I'm gonna try Dr. Arndt on Center Ridge and Lear Rd. I'll see. Maybe I just hate dentists. Compliments: - I didn't have to pay for this visit. read more

Hudac dental in strongsville is the worst place to get dental work done. They are very unprofessional, do not care about you,or your dental issues. I had went for a temporary crown following a route canal, they used the wrong size crown, pushed it deep into my gums, and caused an infection. I went back when the pain was not getting better (after 3 days) my face was swollen, and so was the gums around the tooth to the point you couldn't see the crown on the one side. I was told this was normal (including the pus, and infection) and the choices I have are to pay $900 up front for a permanent crown, or have it extracted. Then sent me on my way with no answers, or any relief from the pain the crown was causing read more

When I call to make the appointment I explained the services that I need and the insurance that I had the dental assistant that answered the phone or showed me that the staff was friendly polite and very knowledgeable of dental procedures when I arrive for my appointment I was told that the dentist was running behind which is understandable when I got in the back the dental assistant started with the X-rays... She fumbled with the machine took the x-rays walked out of the little room that they have clients sitting in that a few minutes later Dr. Ryan walked in she introduced herself looked in my mouth told me what insurance wouldn't cover and walked out on her walking out she said that another associate the office manager will be in to explain the detail cost of everything some other girl say down and was typing away on the computer then the office manager walked in... the girl sitting at the computer never introduced yourself didn't say anything about what she was doing didn't ask any questions but when I asked a question she answered with a condescending tone... the office manager handed me the prices walk me to the door then as I was walking out asked if I wanted my teeth cleaned... what a joke and very unprofessional the entire experience was horrible I do not recommend this Dental location at all as soon as I got my car I called another dentist who was more than happy to provide me the service that I needed read more

Poor customer service All about the bottom line. Dentist left some cavity in after completing a root canal. Paid for crown out of pocket, the tooth never felt right from the beginning. Told them that and said I had to get use to it. The crown fell out, it was a nightmare going back to hudec. The took no responsibility for it and actually charged me for an oral exam that the dentist never completed. The place is filled with incompetent staff who have been trained to only worry about fees and insurance. Avoid this place at all costs.! read more

She asked for the info and I told her I did not have the card with me. She said no info....no appointment...as they had to check me out first. Are they a dental clinic or the CIA? Just had work done I love the staff and the humor they keep while being professional. I see a lot of people leaving negative comments like they don't need the work and they claim they are told they do. Well I am one person who usually needs work and I have been in there office where sometimes I will need something small and something big. Its your choice if you get it done. They don't force you to. Its better than going to a dentist that doesn't check you with everything and then you have more problems. As for Bite wings hurting in another review. Welcome to the dentist world. By far the worst dentist I have ever been to. I had zero cavities when I walked in and they told me almost every molar needed drilled before I left. My sister had 2 cavities when she walked in and all of her molars needed drilled and filled too. We didn't know any better, as you hope you can trust the dental experts, but we were dismayed. My sister and I had to get back to college so we agreed to the recommendations, again trusting our dentist. My cousin told us about a similar experience and he actually went for a second opinion elsewhere and the new dentist told him that they were "watch" teeth and with proper hygiene drilling and filling could be avoided. That was 5 years ago and he still has not had serious work done. My sister and I paid thousands of dollars to these dentists and as we have moved to different cities and different dentists have been told that our dental hygiene is impeccable, except for the fact they have drilled the majority of our teeth. It's unfortunate you can't turn back the hands of time, but I would never recommend these hacks to anyone. read more

I've had a terrible experience. I needed a crown on my back tooth and I'm not good with pain so this is never a pleasant experience for me to begin with. Well the first time the fit of the crown was wrong. So I'm pissed but whatever, I let them do it again because it's easier since I already paid and it's free. Granted this was a dentist who is no longer there that did it the first time. So I go back and it was extremely painful for me because my tooth is overly sensitive after the first time. I needed so much Novocain I couldn't feel my entire face for at least 5 hours after. Anyways the dentist made sure the fit was okay and then let her cronies cement it. So I leave and go home and look in the mirror and see this huge gap between my gums and the crown. I can feel it with my tongue, it's sharp and my tooth is outrageously sensitive. I immediately know something is wrong but I give it a week, still not better. I go back and sure enough I need to get the crown replaced for a THIRD time. The dentist apologized and said that when they had me bite down the crown tilted because they weren't paying attention but of course she didn't admit that and that the whole side of my tooth is exposed. She said she'd be there for the whole procedure next time and apologized again. I am never letting anyone in that office come near me again. I am making them give me my money back and I am going elsewhere. Terrible customer service. You'd think if you did something wrong the first time you'd take the extra steps necessary to make sure it didn't happen again but they did not. read more
