They charged $30 for the materials and $500 for labor. We have no problem paying people for a job and tipping well. If the project was complicated and highly laborious, and only took 1.45 minutes, we'd be totally fine paying a high per hour laborious cost. But a simple faucet install - not worth $500. And yes, we should have got a quote first. We were going off the recommendations of others we spoke to, none saying they were charged $250 an hour for labor. Lesson learned.
