We were here for a birthday party and instead of being fully staffed having enough staff there to teach and help all the kids climb they make each parent be with 1 kid...oops well I have two kids meaning that 1 of them couldn't participate. If you are FAT or TALL or your kid is FAT you will not fit in the small triangle that you must humiliating squeeze though to be able to do the "caving" I saw a grown woman crying because guess what ...if you don't fit your kids can't participate. You need to go with them. and for gooood reason....the caves are pure terror... 3. CAVE trauma ...Children including my own daughter got stuck and lost in the "caves" my 11yr old was banging on the wall for over 20mins until a random person found her, you can't hear her because it's loud in there. I saw another two kids terrified and hysterical looking though a small plastic window in the wall..they were stuck and NO staff helped a parent had to try to go in and find them but got lost. 4. The rock climbing itself was not fun at all the treks up are *VERY* short and most are super easy even for kids...ropes dangling all over, just awful. I've been to several climbing gyms and was a novice climber for fun in my younger years. I've never been to such a poorly organized kids party where adults and children alike were crying. If you are thin go alone and plan to avoid the caves you might like it there. Otherwise avoid. See the triangle that all adults and all children must fit though for your kids to even go to the birthday party if that alone is not awful enough if you don't fit or happen to be claustrophobic there is no staff there that can go on with the kids. Dirty and it's clear that the mats, walls and definitely the "caves" do not get cleaned. Avoid at all costs.

My wife and I are still new to the Albany area, and 21 Boom provided an instant, positive community. During covid, Korey and his team have gone above and beyond in delivering quality workouts remotely. This is such a better solution than the big box gym, and the other options out there. We are in better health thanks to 21 Boom!

I miss driving less than 10 minutes to my Sunday morning class so my Bikram addiction didn't take up half of the whole day. I live in Austin TX now which is just lousy with yoga studios. While I have found one that fits my schedule and my very demanding private checklist, it's a 30-minute drive from where I live. And sure the instructors there are great but I don't feel the homey warmth I got from Radiance. If you need a yoga studio that is not overrun by 20-year-olds*, is old-school hot, challenging, consistent and affordable, this is the place. Everyone in the class was in the same boat - friendly, supportive, fun - we all worked together and we tested our fitness levels at the beginning and then at the end of the 4 weeks - everyone in the class, from age 17 to almost 70 made great strides - the amount of energy, stamina, and ability is amazing. Loved how they taught proper form, how to use various pieces of equipment such as suspension bands, exercise balls, kettle bells, battle ropes and more. The trainers are friendly, energetic, challenging and motivating. I am already seeing results and cannot wait to move to the next level for the next 6 months going 3x per week. It is really a great place - my only regret is not starting sooner. Believe me, if I LOVE going to my classes and want exercise and good nutrition to be a part of my life - ANYBODY can do this. If you are at a higher level, they offer classes for you, too. You only compete with yourself. This is not a gym - no boring treadmills - the small class sizes and ability to have one on one training as well is amazing. However, the classes are filled with many a level of expertise, so whether you've practiced for years or not, there is definitely a place for you. I am taking Kat Abram's classes and she is pretty fantastic. She is open and encouraging, and not at all intimidating. She wants you to be comfortable and her classes are very invigorating; both spiritually and physically. I have only been to 3 classes and I can already feel my body in a different way. It's funny how you can become aware of something, and then suddeny because of this, that thing starts to change. In this case, that thing is my body, and it is wonderful. Aside from all the personal fulfillment, it's also super local and pretty affordable. It's located right where Washington and Lark intersect. The yoga studio is on the second floor and the space is perfect. The room is strewn with persian rugs and there is a constant flow of light leaking in through the tall windows, making the room open and bright. Needless to say, it is a very comfortable environment for stretching, breathing, and meditating. My package cost about $120 for 7 classes; not too bad, if you ask me. It is pretty fantastic to treat yourself to something like yoga at least once a week. There are a variety of teachers and classes and they offering everything from meditation to djembe drumming. The indoor pool is on the small side, but it's also (as far as I know) the only indoor pool that doesn't require an apartment lease or hotel room booking within the city of Albany, which makes it the biggest indoor pool in town. The gym facilities also look pretty extensive, but I haven't actually come for the gym yet -- I'm in it for the swimming. The staff I've interacted with have been universally nice and helpful. My biggest complaint would be that the indoor pool closes so early, I assume for staffing reasons. Also, keep in mind that they require you to reserve your lane ahead of time for the indoor pool. I like the policy, since it saves you from going to the gym, getting changed and showering only to realize that there are no free lanes, but if you like to be more spontaneous about your workouts the JCC pool might not be for you.

There are a heck of a lot of services and activities associated with the JCC. The largest would seem to be the nursery school, the gym and the pool. If you had a nursery school aged kid, and enjoyed to lift weights and swim for some good low impact cardio, you would probably never leave this place. But that's just not me.

The heating elements drop down from the ceiling: cool and unexpected. They have vibrant color changing lights that give the place a festive feel. Mirrors cover one wall. Well organized props. Lot parking with some spaces reserved for the studio. I did their $10 for 10 days Black Friday special and enjoyed several of their classes including some excellent unheated yin classes with Cassandra and some flex, flow and power vinyasa classes. I really loved that Cassandra allowed you to rest and meditate in the postures and was not overly talkative during the class. The hottest class I took here was up to 99 degrees. They also have a Bikram style class at 105. The $10 for 10 days special was an amazing value but their drop ins are $30 and their 10 class pack is $269. Their monthly membership is pretty reasonable for $129 if you practice frequently. I'd love to come back to this studio occasionally but don't want to pay so much for a drop in or ten class. If I didn't currently have a lot of passes at other studios right now I'd do their monthly membership as that's definitely worth the price. Experienced instructors. I liked the vibe here a lot. One of the owners was around to greet folks before class for a few classes I attended and was very friendly. The other yoga practitioners here also seemed pretty chill and nonjudgmental unlike some other studios in the area where you find some snobbishness and oneupmanship. Pretty five star experience but subtracting a star for the priciness of the drop ins and 10 class packs. Definitely encourage you to give it a try as their regular new member special is a great deal for four weeks at $39. The owner told me they may be adding Pilates to the schedule. I will keep an eye on their website and may consider the monthly when my passes at other studios expire. I also like that they have classes later in the evening and on Saturday afternoons.
