When ever I drop in while traveling for work I am always cautious of the vibe at the gym to ensure I can get a work out but avoid any injuries. Everyone I drilled/rolled with was respectful and looking to learn. You can tell coach cares about creating a safe, high‑level training environment. The students were friendly, skilled, and great training partners. Traveling and dropping into new gyms can be hit or miss, but this place was absolutely a hit. Had a nice convo with her and I loved the high energy and good vibes of the place I also really love that they use cups without the need for straws for their smoothies which is much better for the planet! All of the instructors bring amazing energy and the programming is unique and regularly changing, so you're never bored with a circuit or spin class. Everyone is so welcoming and honestly you can't help but feel cool when you're there. The small group training/personal training is unmatched. I've never been able to maintain a consistent work out routine, but Fit Social has changed that. I have fun in every class and I actually look forward to working out. Now, thanks to Fit Social, I am the strongest I've ever been. They also have a super convenient and yummy smoothie bar to get some post work out fuel. I recommend this gym to anyone and everyone. You won't be disappointed when you come here!

Practicing here was a refreshing change from the typical "commercial" studio. Gina taught a unique, wonderful flow targeting all the appropriate muscles for the poses. I'm a yoga teacher myself and tend to get caught up in the details of the teachings when I practice, however, here it was easier to just let go, stay mindful and sink into the practice as a student. I highly recommend checking this studio out!

So my husband is super picky about martial arts since he has extensive training in martial arts himself, when he found out that Sensei Mike Polito is starting the kid class, he was excited. The class is organized in warm up, punches, kicks, forms, free style fight, and closing. Thanks to the lifted restrictions, mask is no longer required. From watching them practice, I really appreciate how patient yet firm sensai is with the kids. My daughter loves the class and looking forward to her continuous training with sensai. P.S. the adult class is from 8-9 pm Monday, looks pretty interesting too.

What I like most about Juliet Gould is her genuine enthusiasm for what she does, which is building strength and empowerment by helping me to reach my personal fitness goals. The workouts are varied to include Zumba, stretching, Yoga, Pilates, etc. Ms. Gould is mindful of my physical limitations, injuries, health concerns and works with me to design exercises that are tailored for my body. Since training with Ms. Gould, I have noticed an improvement in my body as it is leaner and stronger and I have been able to increase my workout time from one hour to an hour and a half. No pool lounge chairs or towel service so bring your own chairs, picnic blankets, food/snacks and other accoutrements to enjoy a leisurely summer day. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Very kids/toddler-friendly. The sizeable shallow end has several sprinklers/splash fountains for children to play in, and there are slides on both the kiddie and adult sides. Also a playground in the back (not affiliated with the pool). There are always many life guards on duty every time I've gone. The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

It's no exaggeration that these monsters from the deep probably kept a legion of child psychiatrists in full time employment. On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.
