We were able to get a table for two right in front of the glass windows, which was nice. There are limited Yelp reviews about the venue, so I wasn't able to do much research on the menu and food ahead of time. I've never been to a wedding at Liberty House, so I had never stepped foot in the space before. It's very big, several different rooms and it's very bright, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that provide beautiful views of the NYC skyline. When we were first seated, we were given brunch food menus, brunch drink menus, and the cocktail/wine menu. Five minutes later when the server came by, he took away our brunch cocktail menu and said we had to order off the main drink menu. I didn't get a chance to look at the brunch drink menu closely before he took it away. I suspect this was so they could price drinks at a premium given it was a holiday (even though the server denied that when I asked him). I had two Hugo spritzes at $15 each, which felt very pricey. My husband's espresso martini was only $14, and usually those are more. I can't find the brunch drink menu online anywhere, so I have no way to see what drinks are on it and double-check the pricing. Service was slow. Drinks took a long time to come out. To start, we shared the Caesar salad, which came out in like 60 seconds. It says it comes with pita zattar croutons; it literally had two small pita crisps. Kinda pathetic. For entrees, I had the Nutella French toast and my husband had the steak and eggs. The French toast said it had bananas, but there was no banana to be found- just strawberries and blueberries. It was tasty, though. My husband enjoyed his steak and eggs; however, for $45, I'd expect a little more meat. They also put out a complimentary bread basket to start: a couple mini muffins and some toasted, stale bread. Overall, the food was mediocre. They have a parking lot; however, make sure not to scan the QR code in the parking lot and immediately pay. Wait until you get inside the venue and scan the QR code at the host's station so it's free/validated. My husband made the mistake of paying right away, and there was no way to get our $8 back. I tried to call the venue ahead of time to ask about the parking situation, but they have a stupid bot answering the phones and it wasn't transferring me to a human. I don't know that we'll be back anytime soon. the experience was fine, but nothing I need to return for.

Miguel, our server, was exceptional, warm, attentive, and so helpful in walking us through the menu and even capturing beautiful photos for us. Well despite attending a beautiful wedding here, our group had SEVERAL issues with the staff. First of all, it's called cocktail hour. Not cocktail 45 minutes. Not to mention they raced to put away the food before guests had a chance to get their final plates. Also, I don't think I've ever attended a cocktail hour where I was told "no" by one of the servers when asking for more than one item (seriously, they had chicken and lamb skewers, I asked for one of each and was told no). The bartenders were messing up drinks left and right, and the waiters (while friendly) made some errors as well. Our whole table was never served cake, and I think this is the first wedding I've ever attended where I actively needed to flag someone down to get a cup of coffee. In all honesty the food was very good, we just wish the staff serving it was up to the same level.

After attending a weddng 7 years ago at this spot, we knew our daughter's wedding would have to be there and it was this past weekend. Even with a surprise rainstorm, Jeff handled everything flawlessly and our guests were mesmerized. It is a spectacular venue and Liberty knows how to throw a wedding!!!

The view is...not bad for small building that's only two stories high, but don't expect the sweeping views that come from being on the top floor of a skyscraper. The balcony on the second floor has some outdoor patio seating for al fresco dining. The dining room has multiple entrances and can be divided into two smaller rooms when multiple groups need to be hosted simultaneously. The catering menu for the event I attended was nothing special: grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, vegan pizza, a dessert spread, and basic beverage service. Waitstaff was adequate. If you don't feel like driving on half a mile of cobblestone to park at the end of Audrey Zapp Drive, you can take the free chartered shuttle bus at Jersey Avenue, which stops very close to Maritime Parc to drop off ferry passengers.

The menu consists of some elevated takes on some classic dishes, and the food is of reasonable quality, which is surprisingly not common for a harborside restaurant. (French Dip: C) - The broth is the star of the dish as it imparts significant flavor in the sandwich to make it incredibly juicy. Otherwise, I felt that the sandwich could benefit from a better char on both the beef and onions to add smokiness to the dish. The duck fat fries are nicely seasoned and pairs well with their spicy aioli, however the duck flavor did not come through. -- Food: E Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: +1 Overall: +2 B Insta/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

These friends had each been divorced for many years and found each other...literally as next door neighbors about ten years ago. They decided it was important to them at this point to make their partnership legal and so they had a lovely wedding ceremony at City Hall and were married by the mayor of Jersey City. The reception was later held at this beautiful historic manse. Fortunately even though Covid was still in our midst things were not as bad then as they are now; the rooms were spacious and had enough room to practice appropriate social distancing. The architectural details abounded in this place. It seems to be a hidden jewel amidst the astonishing number of modern high rises that are popping up throughout Jersey City which is seeing a renaissance of sorts. It's a perfect venue for weddings, parties, music recitals and whatever you might need to rent a pretty space for. You can bring in your own caterers and bartenders as our friends did for this wedding. You are a Path subway line away from lower Manhattan. Suddenly there are quite a few reasons to venture out of Manhattan and over to Jersey City to experience. Who woulda thunk?

From the moment we pulled up, the frustrations piled on. Expensive valet service that charged every single time you left the property (even for quick drop-offs), with no attached parking available. Instead they directed guests to a whole foods parking deck several blocks away! No bellhop or luggage assistance whatsoever; we had to drag our own bags inside and wrestle them onto the elevator like we were staying at a budget motel. Even the Westin in Jersey City offers basic bellhop service. For a Hyatt? Embarrassing!! The hotel itself smelled nice upon entry, but that was one of the few positives. We had booked a suite months in advance for our wedding weekend and were given one of the lowest floors. The suite was spacious with decent views, but it felt dated and poorly maintained; the door ID reader malfunctioned repeatedly. When we tried to call the front desk for help, there was no direct line. Picking up the phone made it ring as if we were calling from outside the hotel. Even cheap motels have direct front desk lines. This is completely unacceptable for a supposed upscale property.. Checking in and out felt utterly corporate and indifferent. Zero acknowledgment that we were there for our wedding .. no congratulations, no special touches, nothing. It was clear they didn't care about our business. The restaurant was decent with nice views, but that's not enough to salvage the stay.. We left with no intention of ever returning. The location next to the path station to nyc is convenient, but it can't make up for the lack of parking, outrageous valet fees, absent bellhop, broken amenities, nonexistent customer service, and overall laziness. We paid good money expecting hyatt reputed quality and hospitality. Instead, we got a 1 n done corporate flop that felt understaffed and poorly managed from top to bottom. It's a real shame they recently "renovated" this place as the execution clearly didn't match the hype. And if that wasn't bad enough, their response to our prior review on TripAdvisor from their so-called Jerrod Nicholson was a generic, robotic AI-generated template full of corporate buzzwords. Lol. It was so obviously AI-written that it was immediately detectable, lazy, impersonal, and further proof of the incompetence plaguing this property. They couldnt even bother to have a real human sign their name properly at the end. For a brand that claims to "strive to make milestone celebrations memorable," this level of detachment and automation is embarrassing for them, especially after a wedding stay. I gave them a 2 star there but due to their poor response I'll decrease to a 1 star. Hyatt regency Jersey city needs to do better. This place is resting entirely on its brand name and location while delivering subpar service. Save your money and your special occasion, and def look elsewhere.
