I need Afrin before I fly, because I have problems with my ears. The Afrin helps with pressure issues and can help prevent my eardrums breaking. (I have had multiple surgeries, so this doesn't happen to everyone .) I could not find a bottle anywhere in my house. I normally leave it in the plane bag. I didn't think that Hudson News would have it, but they did! At the absolutely ridiculous price of $16.99 for a tiny bottle. However, protecting my ears was worth it. And there's no alternative to Afrin, alas. There's self checkout. Smh. First Shake Shack, now this. It's appalling. We need more jobs, not less. They had one employee just standing in the middle of the store. I'm really tired of corporate greed and profits over people. Hudson news JFK AIRPORT TERMINAL 4 room 2420 Jamaica, NY This was a quick stop in search of a 16 oz bottle of water. I know! I know! I'm picky .. really was being lazy! I had liquid IV that I wanted to mix with the water and didn't want to do any further calculations. It proved to be a bit difficult to find a 16 oz bottle, tho. In the airport, the majority of them were 20 oz or more. I finally did find one in the Hudson convenience store. Of course, I didn't get out of there with just the bottle of water, lol. The check out line was quite long so I opted to use the self check out option. I've never experienced anything so ridiculous in my life! Not only did I have to do the work myself (yes, my choice) but I basically had to write a damn essay by answering about 15 questions that pertained to NOTHING about my transaction. It took more time than necessary for a simple transaction for 3 bottled drinks. If the store wants to collect data... it should not be doing so in an airport setting where people are pressed for time and already have little to no patience as it is! The store was fine! Well stocked and ready for business.... But the sales processing needs an overhaul! Until that happens, I'd suggest a different store. read more

Changing planes here in Terminal 4, I noticed that my sunglasses at broken. I stopped in at this Hudson and picked out a decent new pair. Several styles and the price was reasonable at $15 for one. I did have to check a couple to find a pair that was not only a style and color I wanted, but also wasn't scratched. The first two that I picked up were. As well, a great selection of retail priced magazines and candies and drinks. Everything you need for the flight that you're expecting to not get from the airline. Prices are high, but no higher than any similar shop in the airport. read more

I bought some KN95 masks from this Hudson News in Terminal 4 for $5 each. There's a markup, but not a big one. You can buy them in bulk on Amazon for about $3 each, so I'd say $5 for a single item, at an airport, isn't bad. That's also less than the vending machines in the terminal--they sell them for $7 each. The masks are great. They form a tight seal and have a metal nose bridge piece. They are warm, but very easy to breathe through pressure-wise. I assume they're effective. read more

Hudson is one of the main newsagents selling beverages and travel essentials in Terminal 4 of NY's JFK airport, it is pretty much one of the only options - they know that so the pricing here is extortionate, with items costing around a third more than what they would in NYC, possibly even more and those are prices which already were pretty high. The selection of beverages seemed to be pretty small - they didn't sell iced tea or even have space for it which was pretty surprising. They did have a few stock boxes/cages in the way which I didn't like either, and the staff were average at best. The extra star is only for providing essentials which you pretty much would find it hard to find elsewhere in JFK Terminal 4 so the store is needed for sure, but what is needed is Hudson to make a large degree of improvements. 2* read more

This is the short and not very interessant story of how i came to buy something on Hudson News. You can tell yourself that you 'll never use this kind of shop, sometimes we don't have the choice. I needed to take a beverage but mainly a lip balm and i have to say, for this last produce, this kiosk sort of save my life. Surprisingly it wasn't so expensive. I have chosen an ice tea, with a better price than a bottle of water. In the pharmacy radius, only one type of lip but i was so happy to find one. Also this little store have a lots of magazines and fast food like sandwichs and candy if needed. There was 1 register open and 20 people waiting to pay. Another clerk opened and said nothing. People were waiting on line for a while and she just started taking customers that were in front of her in no order and taking no consideration for the line or that people are trying to catch a flight. I was trying to but a bag a trail mix, sticker was $9.99, unreasonably high but I wanted something for the plane. She rang me up and it came up at $13.99. When I pointed it out the VISIBLY SIGHED AND ROLLED HER FUCKIN EYES!!! Seriously?!?!? You're ass raping people as it is, I ask for a little lube and I become the asshole?!!! Very well stocked selection of magazines and newspapers. Ok candy and gum selection. I do wish the bottled drink selection was larger. There were several registers and even with the long lines, I was able to check out in under 5 minutes. I stopped to get a neck pillow and the sign advertises neck pillows for $16.99. There was a regular looking one and a memory foam one. I decided to try the memory foam and went up to purchase it and the clerk said it was $40 without ringing it in. We went back and forth that it is advertised as $16.99 and they are saying $40, but the price isn't listed anywhere. There is no sign and no price on the actual neck pillow. As a customer it should be honored as $16.99. The customer service here is terrible and they laughed as I pointed out the incorrect price. Horrible. read more

Not a great terminal for food or anything else. A bottle of Dasani water was $2.89. There's not a lot of food choices either at Terminal 4. McDonald's the main stay and there's Peet's. Hubby bought a tuna sandwich and the bread(roll) was dry and not good tasting. I could've made a better tuna filling at home. Tax is 8.87% on top of your overly priced items. read more

The good things about Hudson News are: they're every where, can grab an overpriced snack when in an emergency, and seem to be always open. This location was clean and well stocked, had a variety of snacks, drinks, and reading materials to choose from. The employee there was courteous and helpful when I couldn't reach one of the snacks located beyond my reach. read more
