My husband went to Hudson Regional Hospital's Cath Lab to have a procedure done today. I am writing this review because I was so impressed with their department. The nurses, especially Cindy, Melissa, Michelle and Zoey were excellent and Richard was awesome too. There were a few more people who took care of him and every one of them was great. I would definitely not have any reservations using them again. They were very professional and caring, The facility was immaculate and state of the art. My husband received excellent care there. The only draw back was having to check in through the emergency room department where it took long to register and we had to sit there with sick people a bit longer than we would have liked but that doesn't take away from the excellent care he received. read more

This place is an absolute joke. Irresponsible, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and downright negligent. I went here for a relatively benign issue, but it required treatment. I shared with the nurses and doctor that I have pre-existing conditions, along with what medications my specialists say I cannot take due to such. The doctor here insisted on giving me medication that I told him I could not take. I was met with sarcasm, and was asked if "my Google searches know more than his medical training." I reminded him that I work with one of the top cardiologists in the tri-state area who says I cannot take what he was trying to administer and he scoffed. After being told it would be fine by countless nurses and staff, I relented, figuring they knew what they were doing. I trusted them, which was a huge mistake. After being administered the medication, I had such a bad medical reaction that I had to be admitted to this hell hole. The nurses and doctors were mortified as I they tried to get me back under control. I went in for a benign issue and ended up being hospitalized because of their doctors and nurses. Terrifying. I went to the hospital back in December, and they were able to take me back quickly, but that's probably because of the blizzard we just had. I told the doctor I felt like my head was going to explode and all my ailments, and he literally had no compassion. The worst bedside manner I have ever been forced to deal with. I was left alone to suffer for over an hour with barely anyone checking on me. I've now been charged with a 1300 bill because they charge over 1k for a COVID test! On top of that, I have been in an argument with billing for almost 3 months now because they told me I would get 10% off if I paid in full, and I have yet to receive that money back. I had Foot Surgery done by Dr. Bernstein at Hudson Regional on Feb 27th, from the moment I walked in I was treated well and everything explained. Everyone from registration to the pre-op staff and wonderful nurses were great! It takes lots of patients to work with worried patients ( Like me) and be professional and caring. The type of care of I received was quality. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor are all patient, kind, and attentive. The hospital room is clean and the nurses check on you periodically. My only concern was I was recommended to go to another doctor within the hospital that I would have to set an appointment to see. On June 17, 2024 I was TARGETED, ACCOSTED & ATTACKED at Hudson Regional Hospital. Under Threat, Duress and Coercion I was targeted by two individuals (1) a white female, dark hair, pale skin complexion, thin, wearing a dark grey suit and white shirt used fraud and coercion in which she fraudulently claimed to be a treating provider with Accurate NeuroMonitoring Company hired by surgeon Dr. Gbolahan O. Okubadejo (Note: Dr. Okubadejo preformed BAD surgeries and was mentioned in the NY Post) to monitor me during scheduled surgery at Hudson Regional Hospital. (2) a white male, dark brown hair, wearing a white tee shirt, light grey color jeans, baseball cap he spoke with a Albanian or Russian accent whom fraudulently claimed he was the anesthesiologist for my scheduled surgery at Hudson Regional Hospital. The white male was talking to me in an extremely aggressive tone and manner, he then went behind me while I was on the hospital bed stretcher. I was in extreme I felt FEAR and strong BELIEVED I was in danger and feared for my life. I believed he was going to choke me from the back as he hovered behind me!! I was in extreme pain awaiting back surgery. The white female wearing the dark grey color suit pulled out a document (It looked like a typed up Microsoft word document) under FRAUD, COERCION & THREAT she informed me the document(s) is from Accurate NeuroMonitoring Company I am required to sign it!! If I don't sign the document she presented to me... She would NOT allow me to have surgery. I wasn't allowed to read the document(s) she kneel down as she held the documents in HER hands forcing me to sign the document. The white male yelled at me as he stood behind me in a threaten manner, to sign the DAM document. UNDER DRUESS, THREAT, FRAUD AND COERCION I WAS FORCED TO SIGN THE MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT... As I went to put the date on the letter she was holding in her hands, she quickly snatched the letter toward herself, so a date was never placed onto the letter... (Note: I signed the letter not in my original signature because I wanted to recognize the document I was THREATEN, COERCION & FORCED TO SIGN). I requested copies of the document to which I NEVER received!!! I was then taken into the operating room at Hudson Regional Hospital on June 17, 2024 in which the white male attacked me!!!!!!!! I was hit in the face with the oxygen mask my head snap back. I pulled myself forward grabbing my face, he took me by my shoulders and slammed my back HARD onto the operating room bed.... Update: It was carbon monoxide exposure. GO. FIGURE. We had an oven that had a busted combustion engine. We didn't know until we got replacement smoke/CO alarms (one digital that also detected gas leaks [prior history] and CO) when I put some soup on the stove and then the alarm went off but displayed "0." I called the manufacturer, and a replacement one was sent, but I still called PSE&G to inspect for a gas and CO leak. The oven, when turned on (which I use and sit on a chair in front of, (so I can cook my meals in spite of my leg weakness) very frequently) was leaking up to 140PPM into the ambient air upon reading with the wand. The PSEG tech, as well as my hematology-oncology physician, told me that the safe limit indoors is ZERO. No oven should be giving off that much, and it was found to be the most likely cause of my symptoms. As soon as the oven was replaced, I've begun to slowly improve but am left with some deficits that I still fight with each day. For example, I still walk with a cane or walker because I cannot walk more than 500 to 1,000 feet on my own without being a bit unstable from residual weakness. My memory is still poor here and there. All this time-- all symptoms, from the neurological to the hematological (anemias, etc.) to the respiratory and cardiac-- could've been stopped sooner if they JUST. DREW. AN. ARTERIAL. BLOOD. GAS. FOR. CARBOXYHEMOGLOBIN. I am appalled and traumatized. I was already in therapy with PTSD from unrelated issues, but now it got worse. Thanks, HRH! You're the best! (NOT). If they can't diagnose a simple carbon monoxide exposure and get a patient into hyperbaric oxygen as quickly as possible (HRH has a wound care center with hyperbaric oxygen chambers-- THE treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning), but instead blame it on "weight" and unfounded allegations of "Munchausen's by Proxy," they wouldn't be able to help you with a simple inner ear infection or a subarachnoid hemorrhage. The sad thing is that these things often get swept under the rug. All said and done, GO ELSEWHERE. Jersey City Medical and Christ Hospital, EVEN PALISADES, are more acceptable. This place needs to focus more on its patients as opposed to its public repute via lavish banquets and fun fairs (attached). Hudson County's Premier Hospital, folks. This is the best we have? What a shame. Dr. Kifaieh, if you truly do care about your community, then REPLACE YOUR E.D. DIRECTOR (ALEXANDER SARENAC) AND DR. VALERIA KLESHCHELSKAYA. They serve more of a liability than a help in building up your hospital and serving your community. Be prepared to hear from me again. I have written to the State Board of Medical Examiners. To the powers that be at Hudson Regional hospital, I would like to take this time to tell you of my incredibly wonderful experience in your emergency room. I think I fell off the planet and landed on another planet with the amount of care and concern I was extended during my visit.The receptionist was quick to sign me in and she was very adept with fast typing and well versed in all the correct questions she was required to ask to get me into the staff. She expressed concern for my condition and was so very hospitable. I was led to a bed with a curtain and then the Magical Dr. Michael Ohms appeared and led me to another room given my vast medical history or my age. He had a lovely student with him and conducted his examination and questioning of me within 15 minutes of my arrival. I was in disbelief as I have waited hours to get a room in my other hospital, never mind seeing a Dr. He focused on my medical history and made a plan. He was clear and concise and understandable in a reassuring tone. He ordered a cat scan and assured me that they were going to find out exactly what was going on. He would visit me through the night to give me updates of where we stood. Apparently there had been a large amount of trauma that had occurred that evening and CT scans results were being held back for at least 3 hours. He never seemed frazzled with a whole hospital of ill people awaiting reports in order to treat them. He made me comfortable during that time and afforded me iv to rehydrate my elderly body with possible kidney stones. When results did come through he was quick with the answers that I did indeed have a kidney stone of large proportions stuck in a duct. He ordered my prescriptions and expedited me on my way to go home to be more comfortable. Your next magical creature was Donnie from Ct Scan. Well he could have his own variety show on television. He is the most personable tech I have ever run into in my vast medical history. He has a way of making people feel like they are his old friends and kept me smiling and laughing with his banter. I literally would drive from Boston to see him over any other radiologist as I have never met anyone like him and how advanced his knowledge was. He even took his own time to get a nice warm blanket for little ole me who was freezing. Who really does that? Wait Donnie. Please tell him hello. Well It doesn't end there. You are blessed to have the sweet, smart, angelic , smart, friendly nurse extraordinaire Miss Iryna A who took care of me so well you would think I gave birth to her at one point and No this is not her mother. She took care of me the whole time . Yes she brought blankets, yes she checked on me. Yes she cared what was going on and how anxiety ridden I was in a completely new environment away from home. She had a full department to take care of and yet I felt like I was a celebrity or the Queen of England herself for how much she doted on me and my husband who was so worried. She has a calming manner and quick and thoughtful way in answering our questions and putting us both at ease. I highly recommend a raise or acknowledgement of this treasure of a nurse in your department. Not once did I see her frazzled or a frown on her face.  You all must be so proud to run this hospital like a machine with human quality and kindness. I was terrified when I had to seek help out of my comfort zone and yet when I left I wish you were built next to my house back in Boston of which I measure healthcare. Today, my husband needed to go to the emergency room after taking a fall. The facility was spotless. The receptionist was helpful and supportive, and even got us an ice pack for my husband's swelling hand. I was surprised they still worked with paper for a few forms. After getting into the actual examination room, the staff was efficient and attentive. The attending physician, Dr. Sadeghi, was clear and concise, and his manner was calming. He evaluated the situation and sent my husband up for an X-ray immediately. When the X-ray revealed a dislocation, he manually re-aligned the bone, splinted, and stitched the wound. The entire staff was very professional and showed their dedication by compassionately answering all our questions. read more

My husband went in for a Coronary Catscan. Karla was his nurse. She was amazing! For this test, your heart rate has to be a a certain number and she was very educated on the process. She was kind and knowledgeable and it was a pleasant experience because of her. If you are going to have this test done make sure Karla is the nurse on duty that day! read more

I had an excellent experience at Hudson Regional for my emergency surgery. Dr. F, Umi, and Mamta in the ER were phenomenal, thorough and caring, ensuring I was comfortable. Radiology techs were very gentle, compassionate, and solicitous. My surgeon, Dr. R, his PA Tony, and Dr. Lee the anesthesiologist were amazing! Tracy in PACU was so caring and so on top of my care. Went to walk-in Emergency w my 90 year old mom for acute abdominal pain . No one assisted us to the ER libby w any kind of help - wheelchair etc . The registration staff gathered all her billing information and then had to repeat all the info in paper form . NOT one medical person ever looked at my mom to triage, ask a question or do vitals . There were 2 people ahead of us - one who had been waiting 2 HOURS . At that point we left and went to another hospital where we were greeted at the ER entrance w a wheelchair , a registrar asked 2 simple questions and then immediately assessed by a nurse . What happened to my mom , and the 2 people who were still waiting when we left is purely CRIMINAL. Unfortunately for profit hospitals are getting into and making healthcare even more of a business . Absolutely everyone I interacted with from the registrar to the nurses and anesthesiologist were pleasant and warm yet professional. They took 3 hours to perform a 45-minute surgery, because, in the words of the surgeon, 'they couldn't find the right equipment'. And their visitation protocols are all over the place. The admin Leila was very arrogant about letting visitors to the room and cared more about flaunting her authority than letting the patient have a pleasant post-op experience. Oh and the communication - not two people in the hospital gave the same information. The ER is just as bad and it took us a whole day after the initial diagnosis to just book a room. My problem with Hudson Regional is the scheduling depts. I'd been there once before for a chem stress test- which went well with my amazing cardiologist. And the staff that cared for me prior to test was awesome. It took several phone calls to my Dr.s office to finally get someone to tell me where to go, when and what to do. Now on this Monday I have another heart test. Tara did call me on Thursday with what to do prior to test- no food drink after 12 pm Sunday. What meds to take etc. but not where or time of test. Today someone named Africa called and told me driver would pick me up at 8:30 am Monday but no time for test or where and she did not leave her number or extension! I've called the very nice operator 4 times so far and once this morning leaving msgs everywhere for a return call. It is now 4:15 pm Friday and still no call. Is this anyway to treat patients? The answer is NO. I'm trying to get in touch with a complaint dept - apparently there isn't one- surprise surprise. Or the CEO Nizar Kiafeh. Possibly the worst of the worst hospitals in the state of New Jersey, even beating out East Orange, Clara Mass st. Mary's, and Elizabeth, and Bayoone I recently visited their emergency room because I had pain from cancer. Nobody knew why I was sitting in a room for a while or what my problem was never asked me a question hours later the doctor came in ordered a CT scan and bloodwork. I waited hours for the doctor to tell me they don't have anybody to read the CT scan. Why would you do that? If you knew you had no body to help me stay away from this place. It's just a place to go and die in, they should be ashamed of themselves. The state of New Jersey should be involved with shutting down this place. read more

I was at Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus,NJ today, Aug 28. I a from Flemington NJ but my daughter was having surgery today at this hospital. I was never at this hospital before, but I have to say that I was truly amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff was. She was having catheter surgery performed by an interventional radiologist and both he and the group that were in the operating room were terrific as far as I was told by my adult daughter. I witnessed them while in the recovery room. They were very attentive and kind to her and from the time we were in the recovery room,until the time we left 4 or 5 hours later, they did an outstanding job. This has been quite possibly the worst hospital stay I've seen, including dramatic scenes you see in television shows. Went to the ER on a Tuesday after being advised from a doctor to immediately go due to lab results taken at a doctors office. Not only did no one explain anything while in the ER they pushed plenty of drugs without telling us what the medication was. When we inquired what was being given it was brushed off and we weren't given an answer. Fast forward to Thursday and we have been admitted to the hospital and have seen a doctor TWICE. Getting diagnosed with something new that requires daily maintenance and the doctor hasn't answered any questions and when I ask to see the doctor we're told he only works in the morning and he never comes to the room to answer said questions. On top of all of this he then prescribes two medications and when we get the prescriptions there's 5. Two of which are for blood pressure and cholesterol which we were told all labs were normal (so why were these prescribed?) once again ask the doctor for an explanation at 2pm and we're told the doctor will come at 7am the next day. If we were to get discharged today we have no clue how to manage this diagnosis and ultimately will end up back at a hospital. I sincerely hope these nurses are getting paid like doctors because they are the ones keeping this hospital afloat. I applaud the nurses for working in conditions that are from the 60s as there is no technology in this hospital. Everything has hand written on random papers and I guess input into a computer when a nurse gets to (which is likely to not happen as they are clearly understaffed). When asked to provide the lab results physically to us they said they cannot release this for at least 72 hours. My 4 year old niece who plays doctor has better communication and bedside manner then this horrific place. It's dirty, stuck in the 60s technology wise, and they should be ashamed to even call it a hospital. I would go as far to say it should be shut down if this is the level of care they are giving. If we were in a life or death situation that seconds or minutes made a difference I would be willing to bet the outcome would be catastrophic. If there were negative stars I would give it. Only leaving review to say my piece above as they don't even deserve one star. Adding an update: it's been over two weeks since our initial visit to the ER and being admitted. We just got the records in the mail and let me tell you. The hand written envelope sealed with packing tape really validates my review above. All the positive reviews you're reading are clearly fabricated because this hospital is absolutely pathetic and the owner, CEO, CFO etc. should be ashamed of themselves. My review for Hudson Regional Hospital. I stayed at this hospital from May 24th to the 26th 2022. There are so many issues with this hospital it's unbelievable. This Hospital is understaffed which I kept hearing from every employee. Old AC that was not working. the maintenance man had to bring pliers and a screwdriver to turn on the AC. I was moved to another room but again that ac was old as well but working better then first room. Meals were sent to me with out asking me what I can & Cannot eat. Never received my Dinner on the 25th after I circled the food that I wanted for the 25th. my surgeon wrapped my leg told me I was going to be provided with ice for the swelling. Over an hour passes I had to ask for the ice. I feel like I had to be on top of every one to get the proper care. But I was heavily medicated the whole time I was there. The hospital reports that due to covid restrictions You're only allowed to have a family member there for up to a half an hour after that they would have to leave. They refuse to allow you a patient advocate and will not document complaints. On the last day of my discharge Telma did allow my wife to stay with me so she could help me get ready to go. . But I wish I had that support the whole time I was there. . I was also told that I was going to have an MRI done in 45mins. but i was waiting for several hours. when i was taken for the mri The transport person was using my stretcher that I was in to move objects that was in his way, instead of just moving any objects out of the way. Before moving the stretcher. When we arrive to the MRI. The tech told the transport that they had another patient and i should not have been brought down. So the transport took me back to my room. Hours later i finally had my MRI done. But when the nurse name Maria was taking me back to my room she was on her cell phone having a personal conversation & moving my stretcher at the same time, while she was pulling the stretcher the whole stretcher was going side ways bumping into walls, doors. Finally she realize that she needed both hands to keep the stretcher straight. she tells the person on the phone that she needs to call them back. She also forgot her keycard to operate the elevator. Around 12 midnight I asked for my pain meds, she puts my pain med in the Ivy. I ask my nurse why don't you have the flush that comes with my pain meds? She told me that I really don't need it. So I asked her, why did every other nurse use the flush then? She looked at me & said it's ok I'll bring the flush if that's what you want. This is just one out of many issues & complaints I've provided to the patient Advocate name Telma. The quality of care there is horrible and neglectful. My mother went there in extreme pain due to a broken ankle that they would diagnose 5 hours later. Took 4 hours to see an actual doctor that spent 2 minutes with her to order a simple ankle X-ray that any NP or PA could've ordered. finally at hour 5 they take her to X-ray and determine her ankle is broken. 5 hours of a broken ankle and no pain medication Which sounds like malpractice to me. They charge exorbitant charges. I went there on 06/28 for my daughters nasal xray as prescribed by my doctor for my daughter as she got hurt while playing. The bill just for the nasal xray charges came out to be $541 and that too this is negotiated rate with United Health Care. This is apart from their doctors fee of $140 and my doctors fee. OK, so the billboard on Route 3 West always says, "7 minute wait t the ER" and so on. So, when I needed my fractured finger x-rayed on a quiet Sunday evening, I went there.Quiet, lovely place; an hour later I had gotten X-rays and was sitting all alone waiting and waiting. No offer for anything comfort-wise. When I asked, I was told the xray techs were backed up 2-3 hours the whole day. 2-3 hours! No one cared to mention that upon my admission! I literally signed my life away and walked out--no X-rays OR results the next day when they called to followup. I wrapped my own broken finger back up when I left. Nice place, but absolutely no consideration for a basic piece of information like the huge delay with X-rays. read more

I fell pretty bad on my head and was rushed over here last night. I didn't really want stitches or staples but after they took an MRI and confirmed all was well I was injected with lidocaine and stapled, now I have to go to a doctor in two days and also get them out in a week which is a major bummer. So grateful for the speedy response for what happened, I was bleeding like crazy. The results took FOREVER To come back I almost walked out without signing discharge papers, but i waited. If I could give this place no stars I could. I am currently a post-operational patient here and having the worst experience of my life. Nurse wait time is terrible. They don't communicate among each other and have given me the wrong information twice. PLEASE, if you value your health and your healthcare do NOT come to this hospital. HRH is holding the elderly against there will, to collect insurance money. This hospital has my mother now for almost a year. They will not discharge her, nor give her a copy of her medical records. To get the services she needs. Hudson Regional Hospital would not allow the state to intervene, and help her get the services she needs. THE STATE NOR ANY STATE AGENCY CAN HELP STOP THE ABUSE of these elderly patients. The hospital will make sure , these patient do not have access to their medical records. This way they cannot be transferred, to facilities where they need to be. These low income patients will have to be forced to stay at this hospital locked in a room. not even allowed to walk around. The hospital payed extra money to have a guard at my mother's door. Who is 68 years old because she wants to walk around. they will put elderly through this extreme mental anguish. suffering and crying. Just to not have to submit a referral. I am still in court fighting, for my mom to be able to access her medical records. Which is everybody's legal, right. except at this private hospital. Hudson regional Hospital knows can nobody help their patients. therefore, this hospital is getting away with murder Knowing the state is not going to pay for a lawyer to help a patient. These poor lonely, elderly people, are forced to endure this horrifying treatment. Most of them give up, and payed with there lives. Last year, my mother played wiffleball. This year she cannot change a PuLLUP. 11 months later, I am going through the court system still just trying to get her medical records meanwhile, her state appointed case manager also has been waiting for a year for the hospital to submit a referral.
