DO NOT GO HERE, avoid at all costs!…read more Absolutely horrible experience, ruined my wedding ring and so rude and unprofessional. Do not risk bringing your jewelry here, they will ruin it and take no responsibility, it's clear they don't know what they're doing. Brought my wedding ring in for a loose main prong, received it back weeks later with the prong even looser than when I brought it to them, with two stones completely missing which were perfectly fine before, and a huge black resin burn on the main diamond. Not only did they not fix what they were supposed to, they sent my ring back mangled. I have no idea how or why this would happen and how they wouldn't notice this before returning it to me. They also apparently don't take photos or videos of rings before and after repair for documentation, which is wildly unprofessional and is basically jewelry repair 101. Thankfully I took my own photos as evidence, as we're suing the company for the cost to repair the damage they did. They also don't do the repairs in store, which they weren't transparent about, and send it out to god knows where, so be further warned that it's a massively sketchy and unprofessional operation. On top of having no skills as a jeweler, their customer service is atrocious and they treat customers like garbage once they have your money. When I called to discuss my concerns with the state of my ring, the old woman working was immediately defensive, insulting, rude, and accused me of lying and swore at me. Not sure what I would gain by lying about their botched job, I just wanted the situation rectified. She also admitted they don't do repairs in house and don't take pictures or document what is damaged and what they fixed, insanely unprofessional and a scam of a business. They should be ashamed of how they damage pieces that mean the world to people, and then treat and talk to customers horribly. Save soo much time, frustration and heartbreak and go to a business with actual skill and integrity and who treats their customers as they deserve. Edited to address business comments below: Ma'am, I did not swear at you, and have the recorded call as proof of your unprofessionalism and rudeness. You did offer to 'fix' the damage, but who in their right mind would trust you with their jewelry for a second time to fix the issues you carelessly caused, after you sent back my ring with the original issue not fixed, and more damage added on top of it, that you didn't even notice? Insane. For you to say 'I did not want this done', is wild, I shouldn't have to bring my ring back to repair burns you left while not even fixing my issue. Potential customers, do you really want to put your trust and jewelry in the hands of unknown 'contractors'? Very sketchy. Even if my mom was happy with past, non complex, jobs you did, it doesn't mean this one wasn't a total disaster that you did not take accountability for. Everyone, save the headache and lawyer fees and go to someone sane and professional!

I want to do a tax grievance so I called them to have an appraisal done that I really can't afford and after talking with Mike we agreed I don't need to have one done. It's only going to be up to the local committee whether or not they agree but the one I already paid for when I bought my home less than a year ago is sufficient. But I love this guy! I got his information after talking with Terry Marks, a local Margaretville appraiser. Like most appraisers she gets her orders from the main office in Kingston. She too returned my call in hours. No question that if I end up needing a formal appraisal done I'm going with these folks.

We had 4 different brokers do CMA , spoke to an appraiser, and even zillow compare had our home at a 35k difference. When we brought all of this up they said it doesn't matter what a realtor says or zillow that doesn't determine price.... Well they are using the same MLS sold listings you are and they know the market that's how they make money. We have to pay for another appraisal now and we are just because we know they are wrong. No RE lawyer or Builder or Broker should ever use this company, and I truly hope my bank never does again.

In conversation with 2 real estate agents about the situation without ever mentioning his name, they knew we were talking about Rich Ranieri and were told that he allegedly has a reputation of declaring issues that need repair so that he can reinspect at additional cost to the seller and sometimes upon his return finds another issue requiring repair work and a 3rd inspection at additional cost. Buying and selling your home is a stressful enough process and often time-sensitive and he is not only doing a disservice to the buyer and seller but also to the banks he represents. Implore your banks to use reputable appraisers. In the end, the buyer decided to change banks and their appraiser came in $30,000 higher than Ranieri's with no stipulations. Happy to say, after much unnecessary delay, the deal went through. I would stay away from this guy.
