I, being like most customers, know the titles but don't always remember the author's first and last names. Before, I close the door on this review, there were a lot of books on discount or sale. Check out the big blue balloons hovering over the book tables for value finds.

The machine scanned the QR code first, glitched, and called for assistance. The attendant was rude, stayed on her phone while helping me, and acted annoyed. I was told I needed to cover the QR code with my hand while scanning -- something that should really be explained or fixed by the store. Poor customer service and a frustrating checkout process. I've been to plenty of Hudson News locations over the years, and there's nothing special about this one except that it sells Seattle and Washington-themed souvenirs because it's in Seattle, Washington. There was a solid assortment of knick knacks and apparel, in addition to whatever snacks, books, and travel accessories you might expect to find at an airport shop. There were a couple stands of magnets, keychains, pens, and the like, with a buy-3-get-1-free deal on the magnets and keychains. This was a little confusing, and I overheard another customer arguing with the sales clerk about how many items she had to buy to get the freebie. I didn't hear the outcome, but the answer was three, with the fourth free. The deal also only applied to magnets and keychains and not the pens on the same rack. I learned all this when I checked out with my two magnets and one pen. I decided I didn't need any more Space Needle magnets than I already had in hand. I did also buy a larger decorative Space Needle souvenir, one of those shakeable plastic dealies with water and colorful confetti inside. I may not love souvenir junk, but this was a fun family trip, and I wanted my kids to take home a few tangible mementos. It was easy to get these at Hudson News.

Kind of a long story as to how I became a customer, but I'm glad I did. I started using Biblesoft in 1998 and found it very user friendly. Not a huge fan of One Touch, but it worked. Since their demise I reinstalled version 5.0 and it works like brand new. Over the years, I used Biblesoft and LOGOS, but LOGOS can be complicated to operate and I noticed some comments about the cost. LOGOS is VERY expensive. I recently got a notice that there is a "gap" in my collection and offers to fill it with various "ultimate collections." The offers START at $1015.86 (after a 60% discount). Some of their other collections are as much as $14,522 (AFTER a 60% discount is applied). Yeah, I passed on all of the offers.

I have been a Biblesoft user for many years. I loved the One Touch upgrade when it came out, but…read morenow with a new computer, I can not authorize it as they are permanently closed. I did find this workaround online. When loading One Touch, it will ask "continue running script", answer "No", and then hit Alt+f4. Sometimes you need to press Alt+F4 more than once; it should work on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
