I could not swim any laps but I did my best going wall to wall in the main pool. They are also shooting 2 spouts of water out across the pool now. The kid's love it. But, they have a complete fitness gym, pilates and yoga studios, aerobics classes, spin classes, aquatic classes, personal trainers, and more. Our yoga community is very supportive, so I am always encouraged to go to class even when it's cold out or raining, etc. I am a "senior" & so there is something there for people of all ages. We have a 85-year old who regularly comes to yoga with the rest of us. But, the kids can play basketball or tennis, work-out in the gym, or swim in the pool.

A forgettable Y, old and run down and needs a major facelift. Definitely one of the less enjoyable YMCAs I've used and despite how old and run-down it is, it's also busy so you will have to wait for certain things on certain days at certain times more than you would in the average YMCA location. And some of the other members are not so friendly. A good parking lot though, and nobody bothers you in it if you're hanging out in it for awhile.

The outdoor pool area consisted of - Large pool section that went from 3+ feet to 5 feet - 13 foot area with a diving board - Lazy river - 2 water slides About 40% of the area where you can sit is shaded (either trees or a canopy). I can tell that people came early to snag those spots. It's a very nice and well maintained facility. One thing to be aware of is that there is no re-entry. So make sure you bring everything from the car you need the first time. There is plenty of parking. Overall we had a great time and next time we will go closer to the time they open to get a shady spot.

I exchanged multiple emails to get her enrolled, and while I was asked to sign forms, none of them clearly stated that I would be automatically charged for future months. I was surprised and frustrated to see a charge for January, a month I never intended to sign up for. I was also disappointed in the "Mom and Me" class itself. The class included older children and the activities were not developmentally appropriate for an infant. The session essentially became unstructured water exposure time--something I can provide on my own without paying for formal lessons. We have tried another class at a swim school elsewhere (swimkids) when I was visiting my parents and the quality and structure were significantly better. I am extremely upset about the misleading auto‑enroll practice. After I raised concerns, a staff member named Michelle called me and referenced documents I had signed, yet none of those documents explicitly state that I was agreeing to automatic renewal. As a consumer, I believed I was paying for a single month of classes in December--not entering into an ongoing subscription. The language used is ambiguous at best and feels intentionally unclear. Between the lack of transparency in your billing practices and the underwhelming class experience, I am very disappointed. I will be sharing my experience with other parents so they can make informed decisions before enrolling their children.

Water is warm enough so there is no need to acclimate to colder temperatures. Lessons are in small groups. My only issue is the upkeep of the facility. The locker room perpetually has ceiling tiles missing. Sometimes the toilets don't flush, sometimes there is no hot water in the shower. The locker rooms are very sparse with only one bench and some hooks. In theory, this space has SO much potential. With a small investment, this facility could be very busy. They would need to make only a few mainly cosmetic enhancements to make this place really successful and attractive to people who like the convenience of an indoor full size pool for swimming and exercising, as well.

The pool area is pretty big, so you can have space to yourself even with classes and trainings going on. I had a very unpleasant experience at this LA Fitness location recently that left me feeling…read moreembarrassed and singled out by the manager Stacy. I drove about 30 minutes out of my way that morning to attend a yoga class with Kasturi, which was wonderful and absolutely the highlight of my visit. Unfortunately, the experience I had at the front desk before the class was the opposite. I brought my sister with me as a guest as I've done since 2022. My membership allows me to bring guests, and I've done so before without any issues. However, the manager, Stacy, immediately accused us of sharing a membership. This was not true and was honestly embarrassing to be accused of in front of other people. My sister was asked to sign a liability waiver, which is completely understandable. She simply asked to read the waiver before signing it. When she asked if it could be printed so she could read it more easily, she was told that wasn't possible. When I tried to take a photo of the waiver on the screen so we could read it, I was accused of taking a picture of the staff and was told I needed to leave the gym. I've never had an experience like this at any other location since starting my membership years ago. At one point the manager became visibly angry, slamming items on the desk and aggressively pushing the check-in machine toward my sister. She was extremely aggressive and rude. I was also asked to prove that I hadn't taken photos of staff by showing my phone, which I did. Nothing inappropriate was found. The entire interaction was loud, confrontational, and very uncomfortable. I've been a member of LA Fitness for years and have never experienced anything like this at any location. I've never encountered such a lack of professionalism and display of aggression from a staff member before. Again, the yoga class with Kasturi was great and worth the drive, but the front desk interaction made the start of the visit extremely stressful and embarrassing. I hope management looks into how situations like this are handled in the future, because members shouldn't feel accused or publicly embarrassed when simply trying to check in with a guest.

I visited the Aspen Hill location as a guest of my sister, who has been a long-time LA Fitness…read moremember, and unfortunately had a very negative experience with the manager, Stacy. From the moment we approached the desk, we were immediately accused of sharing a membership, which was completely untrue. The interaction felt confrontational right away. When I was asked to sign a guest waiver, I simply requested to read it before signing and asked if it could be printed. I was told it could not be printed. When we tried to take a photo of the waiver on the screen so I could read it more carefully, Stacy accused us of taking a picture of her and escalated the situation further. She demanded to see my sister's phone, including her recently deleted photos, despite there being no photo of her taken. I tried to assure her that "No one wanted a picture of her on their phone" but she still insisted to see my sister's personal photo archives. Once my sister showed Stacy her photo long, both recent and deleted that's was when she was finally able to move past accusing my sister of taking her photo. The exchange became loud and tense, and items were being slammed on the desk during the interaction. It felt hostile and unnecessarily aggressive for what should have been a routine guest check-in. The yoga class itself was wonderful and worth the drive, but the front desk experience was embarrassing and uncomfortable enough that it overshadowed the visit. I hope management takes steps to ensure guests and members are treated with professionalism and respect.
