She trusted him quickly and laughed a lot. When we left she said 'I loved it!' Can't wait to go back. Shower facilities were excellent. They have a machine that fast dries your swim suit. We are obviously not competitive swimmers, but the technology available there is impressive. Even as an outsider, I can understand the benefits of having video monitors to replay your stroke and compare it to that of other swimmers while your coach talks you through it. I don't know of any other swim facilities like this in Montgomery County, MD.

I didn't want to seem rude and make people self conscious by taking pictures with them in it, specially when in bathing suits and lots of young children. With that said, this outdoor pool is beautiful! The parking space is ample. So many places to park. The surrounding area is covered by trees and other outdoor activities including a baseball diamond/field and a very nice skate park. Upon entering, there is a small fee to get in daily. I believe residents receive discount to and there are passes available. As soon as we entered the swimming area, I was really impressed! Plenty of spaces to sit. In the shade, sun, a bit further away, many options. There is a shallow pool with lots of fun activities and slides for the young kids. That pool is 1FT deep and it's perfect for families. There's another pool with a basketball game another cool slide and zip tie pool plunge. On the far right there's an area with the long, tall slides ! These are new and look so fun. A bit further behind is a lap pool with diving boards. Unfortunately we came on a day with poor air quality and they had to close early. But we did enjoy 2 hours worth of swimming. There is an additional indoor pool and we were encouraged to swim there. We decided to go home. There's a confession stand that we didn't get to try and I haven't seen the fitness center yet. I honestly can't wait to come back, best pool in the area. Not too packed, big, fun, plenty to do. Loved !

There were no chairs available -- that's on us, we should have come at opening, but it was wildly overcrowded and then another camp with even younger children arrived. My kids are young teen/tween age and excellent swimmers but it's more crowded than a Great Wolf Lodge on a holiday with a lot less supervision. I felt awful for the lifeguards. We'll likely come back on a weekend because the facilities are great but the amount of children vs adults/older teens is honestly hard to imagine and felt very stressful.

We had been coming to Goldfish Swim School in Gaithersburg for about two years with both of our daughters. There are definitely positive things about this school: a warm pool, a bright and kid-friendly environment, and some instructors who are kind and patient. My children truly loved the water and looked forward to their lessons. However, our experience as a family ended on a very disappointing note. My younger daughter is a playful, energetic six-year-old. She loves to splash, move, and interact with people in the water. Instead of speaking with me about any concerns (I was present at every class), the management decided to remove her from the program, describing her behavior as "aggressive" toward an adult instructor. As a parent and as someone who watched every lesson, I strongly disagree with this interpretation. What I saw was normal, emotional child behavior that could have been redirected by a more experienced teacher. No one approached me during class, no one asked to talk, and there was no warning or attempt to work together. The first and only conversation was an email informing me that she would no longer be allowed to attend. This decision was made right before Thanksgiving, turning what should have been a peaceful family holiday into a very stressful and emotional situation for us. I had to sit down with my six-year-old and explain why she suddenly couldn't go back to the place she loved. Since I cannot take my children to different schools and schedules, I ultimately had to withdraw both of my daughters, including the older one who had no behavioral issues at all. In the end, the school lost two long-term students and a loyal family not because we didn't value swimming, but because of how the situation was handled and how little effort was made to find a solution. I believe this program may work well for very calm, highly focused children who easily follow instructions and don't get too excited or distracted. But if your child is more spirited, emotional, playful, has trouble with concentration, or needs a more flexible teaching style, I would strongly recommend you observe a class carefully and ask specific questions about how they handle different types of behavior, how they communicate with parents, and what steps they take before excluding a child. My hope is that the school will learn from this experience, invest in more training for staff, and improve communication with families. Children deserve understanding, not exclusion -- and parents deserve to be part of the conversation before such drastic decisions are made.

The pool size is smaller, as are the class sizes and this helps with comfort level. The staff are exceptional, and the trainers are attentive to each child, though I do wish they would communicate updates to the parents more frequently. As for the location itself, it is very clean and well kept. The waiting area has lots of toys, tables, activity items for kids while they wait for class to start. There are benches for parents to sit and observe the class sessions. The locker room is large, spacious, and again well kept and clean. There are plenty of showers. I do wish they had one more bathing suite dryer though. If you are the parent of a young child in the Montgomery Village area I highly recommended Safesplash. There are a few areas that need improvement, some of which I listed (more bathing suite dryers, more communication post class with instructors), but I am happy to give this business five stars!

You can't bring in water bottles with water in them. No jewelry or even an Apple Watch on the slides. I forgot my phone in the car, and was only allowed to get it when the manager escorted me. The workers were nice enough about enforcement, but it all got a little tiring after awhile. This is a municipal park, not DisneyWorld. Chill. As for the park itself, it's fine. A big (not particularly deep) pool, surrounded by 3 slides (one for tykes, another for under 7, and the grandaddy of them all, which is towering). There was plenty of space for sitting and umbrellas. The bathrooms are clean, the pool and slides are well maintained and there are lifeguards everywhere. The water is ice cold, and there are vending machines. Outside food is allowed (maybe this is just due to covid, there was a grille but it was closed), but don't get cute trying to sneak in liquor because they do search your bags thoroughly. I get the sense the city really cares about this facility and treats it accordingly. But check beforehand. Weekends are for city residents ONLY. Nobody from outside MoCo is allowed in, and they will check your ID to confirm. For some reason, I was only charged $6 (the city rate) instead of $11 (I like in Silver Spring) so that admittedly influenced my rating. I might have been a but harsher (because rules) had I paid full cost. My kids (ages 9 and 12) got a bit bored after awhile, but for the price, this isn't a bad way to blow an afternoon.

I'd like to thank to my instructor, Sydney, and the SwimBox team for helping me build comfort and confidence in the water while making it fun. While most local swim schools focus primarily on children learners, SwimBox caters to all adults at every skill level. The sessions are one-on-one, giving self-conscious adult learners privacy and allowing the instructor to focus on the learner. And as opposed to the 30 minute lessons that many swim schools offer, SwimBox sessions are 45 minutes, giving the instructor plenty of time to introduce a lesson and work with the learner to sharpen newly acquired skills.
