I usually go to the nail salon near my work in LA but I didn't have time and decided to give this place a try. I asked for Sunny and she did my nails. I got the gel x and they lasted over 4 weeks! The previous salon I used to go to my acrylics or gel x would only last 1.5 weeks and then start lifting. Ive called and they have been closed on non holiday days earlier than the time online. I do love the hospitality in the times I been here before but the quality of service is good once you have gone in. Call and make a reservation, as this place got busy. I opted for the 2nd option on the menu for both pedicure/manicure. Total was $65 - $64 for the service and $1 for credit card processing. I've been coming to hug nails for a little over a year now, and each time I go I always leave happy. It's a small hole in the wall nail place, and could be easily missed, but I truly believe they should be more recognized as they're super sanitary and friendly. Their pricing for a pedicure is honestly the best I've seen for the basic one. It comes with a 5 min massage, and they exfoliate you and they have a nice touch of adding lemon or orange to the exfoliation process. Sunny and her team are always so kind. Sadly, I would not recommend this place EVER. I had been in a couple of times for a gel manicure because it's close to work. I had felt like the technicians were a little heavy handed when filing off gel polish but I was in a pinch. Last week, the technician almost filed right through my nail bed with the electric drill. When I pulled back in pain and showed the damage to another technician, she agreed it had been filed way too much, almost to the point of bleeding through. I asked for the other technician to complete my service and was charged full price for the manicure. I love love love this nail salon! They do SUCH a great job here. Very thorough. I bartend 3/4 days a week, and my gel manicure has lasted for over 2 weeks with no chips or peeling. That has never ever happened to me before because we hand wash all of our glassware and it generally destroys my hands and nails. My gel pedi looks completely perfect except for natural grow out. I travel from Long Beach every two weeks just to get my nails done at Hug Nails in Brea. I love this place, it's very clean, the staff are all very nice, and I love that their services always have an extra special touch, like flowers in their trays, the use of herbal scents, adding mint to their scrubs. The pedicures are more like spa treatments then just a regular pedicure. Sunny is amazingly talented, I love how creative she is and how much attention she gives to details. She takes her time and makes sure you love your nails plus she's super sweet and very focused on cleanliness and making sure all the equipment is properly sterilized. Sunny T is very skilled in applying acrylic, she is the manager and I believe she should have remedy the matter by fixing the acrylic, which would have taken her a couple of seconds in the end she did, but the situation gets worse. When I called Sunny T to get some help she proceeded to tend to her client. By this point I felt unseen, unheard and a little taken aback that no urgency was provided. I had been there for 3 hours, missed picking my daughter up from school. I called out to Sunny T, and I asked for her help again. The client that Sunny T was tending to was a Caucasian female. The Caucasian woman told me to chill out and said, I had been bullying them since she got there. I slightly raised my voice and asked the women to stop talking to me. I was having a bad experience and her engaging in the matter with no resolution would make matters worse. Guess what? Things were escalated Sunny T called the Brea Police Department on me, Sunny T handed the phone to the Caucasian women and she talked to the police. Not once did I get out of my seat, or do anything to have the police called on me by the way I am a Black Woman I feel like this should mentioned to bring perspective to this horrible experience and story. The Caucasian woman kept antagonizing me in front of the staff and other clients. I asked her with my voice raised to stop talking to me several times. The police arrived as the Caucasian women was leaving, she flagged the police down and spoke with them. Please bear in mind that I am still in the nail salon, and Sunny T is fixing the acrylic on my pinky toe by this time. If I posed as a threat, why would I still be in the nail salon, moreover why would Sunny T still provide any service. I was kind, very patient throughout this process and that didn't help. Sunny T spoke with officer and then him and I spoke. Even the officer said, you don't appear to be angry and I wasn't angry. I just wanted to receive good service for the money and time spent that's it. The officer was very cool about the matter, I understood and heard. However let's understand that this matter could've played out differently and more importantly it is scary how oblivious people such as Sunny T and that Caucasian women can be to call the police on me especially during the challenging times we are living in with injustice and racism. I am thankful the officer was calm and understanding, because this situation could've turned out differently. African American people get killed by police everyday in our bed, being pulled over etc. read more

I've been going to this nail salon for almost a year now! Sunny always does dip on my nails and she is amazing at designs! And I love the rest of the girls who do my pedis too! They are always friendly, professional, and do a fantastic job. In response to another woman's 1-star review: I went in today and was unfortunately involved in an incident with this customer. I observed this woman berate Sunny and the staff for the two hours I was there. I finally had enough and told her to chill out because she was being unnecessarily rude. So much so that she made a staff member cry and that is just not ok. It escalated quickly when the woman proceeded to verbally threaten me and raise her voice. The police were called because this woman would not calm down. She then proceeded to talk bad about the staff and myself for the remainder of my service. The police arrived as I was leaving so I don't know what happened after that. All I can say is Sunny and the staff were so calm and professional throughout the entire ordeal and strived to fix this lady's ridiculous complaints even after the police were called. I went here the first time and experience was decent ... why did I come a second time I couldn't even get hot water to soak my feet in. i was forced to get a premium pedicure when I only wanted basic. All while nail tech was lazy as if she didn't wanna be there. Owner was rude and basically told me I could leave for no reason at all I basically felt she didn't want my business because I was BLACK! All I asked was can I please get a pedicure with hot water and couldn't be accommodated and had to be embarrassed because now I look like I'm causing problems cause I can't get the bare minimum. Not to mention when she was doing my pedicure they kept laughing while she was working. I don't like the disrespect, and if it was joke that was meant to be funny let everybody here it. I LITERALLY walked out with my nails/fingers looking like this! I am so disappointed that I want to cry. It looks worse than when I went in! They didn't even make sure my nails were dry before I walked out and my cuticles are worse than before! I think my 4 year old daughter does a better job. Whatever oil they used for the 'massage' got all over my car because they didn't wipe it off of my arms. I even had the paraffin wax still on my hands as I was leaving. First pro is that this place is very close to home! The ladies there are very friendly and least to say accommodating. I called and asked if they would take me in, I had no appt and was seen right away. The older sweet lady did an amazing job at my pedicure. I got the $32 pedicure that comes with all kinds of good stuff. Being that my feet are swollen and just tired, it really hit the spot. Then I decided I wanted a manicure with gel. A nice young lady did my manicure and she did an amazing job as well! My cuticles are super clean and my natural nails are looking sharp!
