Many of the 1 ratings on this page pertain to billing, Emergency Room experiences, and feelings of mistreatment. Our family member, several weeks ago, felt the imaging staff had no respect for her fragile body and curved spine. They knew what they needed to do, they had a long, busy, full night. The patient was a technical task needing solving. Some years ago, a doctor gave me his opinion from, as he said, "The view from 30,000 feet. " The view here from 30,000 feet is "Medical City". I do not know how many thousands of people "live" in this city from Janitors to food prep, nursing, brain surgeons and administrators. It is a complex place dealing with every aspect of human bodies, birth to preservation, and who is going to pay for these services and how. January, 2026 we learned, at a physical therapy center, the insurer of our family member withdrew Medicare Advantage coverage from them December 31, 2025. We scrambled. Elderly, on Medicare, we fell back on standard Medicare, but paid out of pocket for awhile. My heart goes out to people crushed between low pay and less than stellar medical insurance, and the medical institutions treating them, no matter the circumstances. We do not know what this hospitalization will ultimately cost our family. Care of our family member has been deep and wide. I think of thecduffering of my ancestors from falls, infections and the many diseases I get vaxed for. It is miraculous age. I see medications delivered at millionths of grams keeping a body functioning and relatively oit of pain. I am amazed. I see the teams assembled to work these medical miracles and I am amazed.

Nurses aside, the rest of the staff has question marks. Let's start with the gestapo ICE wannabes sitting in the emergency room that ask you what you are doing there and then tell you to go stand in line. They cannot hear a thing behind that stupid glass. Just cover your face like your heroes and get rid of the glass. The doctors all seem concerned on what happened on a test 5 years ago so much more so than a current test result. The high blood pressure from 5 years ago has already been addressed... as you can tell by the current readings. As a visitor, one day I walk in freely and go where I want, no questions asked. The next day a dude runs me down like he's a free safety to tell me he has to check me in and give me a designer paper bracelet to wear. If the free safety is correct, the day 1 staff should be fired for dereliction of duty. Why is it not possible to assume that anybody not in a hospital gown is a visitor? Why is the bracelet necessary? Somebody got paid to come up with this idea.

It's a lot to physically and mentally navigate the challenges of major surgery but the nurses and doctors made my entire experience pleasant, professional, and safe. There was never a time when I felt out of the loop as my recovery progressed and what tests and medicines were added to my daily routine. All the staff on the 17th Floor were amazing. Every RN, PCA, Doctor, support staff, and housekeeping were highly attentive to my needs. The only critique I would say is that sometimes I'd be missing an item or two of my meals. I was served breakfast, lunch, and dinner that was preordered via link to my phone. 90% of the time, my meals arrived with everything that I requested and the other times they were missing without explanation. Other than that, this is a 100 star hospital. I trust Banner University Medical for all my medical needs.

You should come to this hospital if:…read more1.You don't mind pressing the call button to go to the bathroom and having a nurse stroll in 20 minutes later and you've already wet your pants. 2. They don't change your sheets after your urine accident (see above) and all they do is put a paper pad barrier over it. And it doesn't matter that your blankets are moist. they'll have to do. 3. You have a visitor who is struggling to help you out of bed and nurse's aides pass by, see the struggle, and don't bother to ask if they can help. 4. You are served lunch, you don't eat it, and it sits there until 7:30 PM stinking up the place. 5. You ask if and when you will be discharged before lunch and each time you ask the nurses they look like deer in headlights . Only to find out from your doctor that she told the nurses at 11:00 am that you would be discharged. There is a lacadaisical atmosphere at this nurses station (inclusive rooms 12 05 to 1212 and others in that hallway.) Chit chatty, non attentive to patients. Perhaps looking at EKG screens or other monitoring tasks. certainly not responsive to patients needs. At one point, I called to speak to the hospital administrator and was told I had to speak to the CHARGE NURSE. The operator transferred the call to that same nurse's station and the person who answered told me she was a secretary and she didn't know who the charge nurse was. It's like Abbott and Costello here, the "who's on first" bit. Except that none of this is funny and this is supposedly a place where life and death decisions are made and people are supposed to be seriously performing their duties to give the patients a sense of confidence that they are receiving top quality care. This is not it.

The new ED runs so smoothly with all departments close by. X-rays and blood tests results are back quickly and a board in your private room indicates when they have all been completed and the Dr and nurses names along with test progress is updated quickly. I have had many experiences of other departments there, from neurology , to foot surgery consultations and I am presently experiencing appointments in the PT department. Every where I go I am greeted and cared for with loving care and expertise. There are no rushed appointments and in my experience they run on time. What a great experience every time I have an appointment. Phone staff are so on the ball calling to make appointments and are mindful and helpful of time constraints one may have. Liz.

The hospital experience was great and all the nurses were great. I didn't meet the surgeons but the anesthesia team was great. The only bad thing that I took a star off for was the food was soooooo bad. I mean like nearly inedible. When you're trying to recover and eat it's hard to when you can barely shove down the food. I'm not even very picky but I can't overstate how bad it is so order oatmeal and fruit and stuff that isn't going to be nasty. The aftercare was also great and they set all my appointments for me and it was so easy to stay on track. No complaints and every provider I saw was great.

We both had a great experience there! The wait time wasn't long, we were seen pretty quickly after we arrived. The whole process didn't take long at all! We both saw caring professionals who were able to give us a diagnosis, a care plan, and call in a scrip for us. It's always a little strange to need care in an unfamiliar area, but this was great! We both highly recommend Honor Health!

I will tell you that during this long stay, we interacted with dozens of different teams. And this was an overall good experience. From the security people, nurses, techs, doctors, cafe staff, and even the cleaning crew- we were treated respectfully and everyone communicated with us. And these doctors took the time to really explain what was happening. I know from stays at other hospitals that family is often left in the dark about how and what needs to be done, but they have all been very transparent and ensure we know what they know.

The RN assigned to us was somewhat polite, but when we asked for water for the patient, we were told we could get it ourselves rather than being assisted. I also did not observe the IV port being sanitized before medication was administered, and a green disinfecting cap was not placed on the IV afterward. In addition, the pads the patient was lying on had visible blood on them and were not changed. I ended up removing the soiled pad from underneath her myself. These are basic cleanliness and sanitation practices that are important in a hospital setting. The experience left me feeling like I had to closely watch the care being provided to make sure things were being done properly. I hope hospital leadership or patient relations reviews this feedback and reinforces proper care standards for future patients.

Had a poor experience. Only reason for 2 stars is the check in and reception process was efficient…read more After that the experience was poor. Went there on a Sunday afternoon at about 430. After getting checked in for a possible broken elbow, vitals were taken and MD examined. We were told the xray tech was in with someone and we would be next. We sat there for over an hour (I can't imagine one set of X-rays took an hour). X-rays were finally taken in less than 5 mins. Then after sitting another 30 mins, I asked how long it would be until someone could look at the xray. I was told "this is the part that takes a while" and that I "was lucky they were still on the day schedule because the night time wait time can be up to 4 hours." We waited about 20-30 mins then asked again how long it would be. They couldn't give me a TAT so we got up and left. We were there for over 2.5 hours to have 3 X-rays taken. And who knows how much longer it would have taken to have someone read the X-rays. I don't believe there were a large number of patients there at the time. The parking lot only had a few cars, waiting room was empty and the nurses desk outside the exam room had the same nurses/techs/MDs sitting there our entire wait. Their website says little to no wait. How healthcare should be. That was not my experience at all.

The facility runs like clockwork. Family members are kept informed as to patients surgery by a frequently updated detail board. This facility has one of the best chefs in town producing tasty hot meals. My husband's steak was tender cooked to perfection and hot. Helpful caring staff are there support and inform throughout the stay. We cannot speak highly enough of this experience. 10 star rating would be too few. Follow up once home was appreciated.

The one nurse, I didn't like her demeanor but I understand she was trying to help me as well as do her job, but I was laboring fast and could barely even move. It wasn't my first baby, I have had WAY better experiences elsewhere but I also have all my kids in a different state.. the maternity ward is significantly outdated , rooms ran down and super small. The food was nasty. Other than the one nurses demeanor the rest of the staff and nurses I had were very friendly. I had my son within barely a hour after arriving to the hospital so they weren't able to see what labs I had or hadn't had while I was pregnant, come to find out one test I should've had when I was pregnant wasn't order by the doctor so I had to get the test ran after my son was born and I had to stay a extra day due to waiting on getting the lab results back. I had no issues during the labor process itself, honestly one of my easiest, fastest labors but probably because I arrived at the hospital at 8 cm basically ready to already push. I would not want to deliver here again unless I absolutely had to.

I want to recognize someone that was extraordinary and went out of his way to help me. I will NEVER forget Mike Kenney-in security! I had just found out my father was having emergency surgery. I raced to the hospital. My dad was waiting in a room at the er. He was going to Pre Op. Mr. Kenney hustled me back to the room-and I was sad to see the bed was gone. He had been taken to pre op. Mr. Kenney could tell I was upset bc I didn't get to see my elderly dad before he went to emergency surgery. He quickly advised me the fastest way to see him. I know this doesn't seem like a lot-but I am forever grateful bc I got to spend time with him right before surgery. I was also there to support my mom who was very worried. If it weren't for Mike-I wouldn't have been there for my mom or got to hug my dad. I am forever grateful. He didn't have to go out of his way to help me. I saw the amazing Mike several days to follow. He is excellent at his job and truly cares about patients and their family! MIKE KENNEY-you deserve a million stars! I am forever grateful! I will say not all staff will fall in this category but unfortunately the one nurse on the 4th floor, Pavilion 2 orthopedic unit RUDE!!! There's no reason to come into work with an attitude when your patients and their family members are helping with their recovery. Thank goodness she wasn't his nurse just a rude one at the nurses station. They always say family is a part of a patients care and the only thing I inquired about was someone to come and clean a restroom because housekeeping wasn't there yesterday and he didn't want to sit on it. If you know you know how some meds will do you. But that nurse stood out the most for her rudeness. I get it, we're all stressed but don't be rude for an already stressful situation. But the other staff I found to be nice and accommodating and made sure I was comfortable knowing I was staying with my family member. Thank you to the staff that showed up to their jobs as professionals. What I've learned, you can't be a voice for the patient and leave the morning crew alone. Terrible!!! UPDATE: My family member wanted me to make sure to give a special thank you to Ms. Teresa in housekeeping, even she stated if the bathroom ever looks like that again to call her. She gave us her card with the number. Also there were a couple of male nurses John and I forget the really tall male nurse that helped him out of bed and the other male nurse that got me a warm blanket and checked vitals. This is the type of professionalism that we look for in nursing. So the nurses that took care of my family member on July 18th! Thank you. July 19th is when he started complaining about his care.

I arrived late because of something entirely out of my control, and I was so worried I wouldn't be able to get seen. Despite my stress the office staff were helpful and got me in anyways.
