Moved to Palm Desert couple years ago but I haven't had much success with finding a Dr. who actually listens and isnt just checking off a list or running patients thru like an assembly line. I recently found Dr. Nasr and loved his specialty in Endocrinology. He was a godsend for me, I was very pleased and impressed with Dr Nasr we had a complete 1st visit consult, very thorough and not rushed. As women we often feel unheard but Dr Nasr was very attentive, listened and asked follow up questions assuring me he was listening and making sure I was comfortable with his treatment plan while he explained it. I recommended him to my husband, we usually have different physicians but he agreed since he knew how pleased I was with him. This Dr has been the worst one I've ever seen. I never write reviews but this Dr needs to stop practicing. He doesn't believe in his patients and doesn't support them. If you ask them to do one thing for you like a prior authorization, "you're causing the office stress" is what he told me. And he said "if you're upset, go find another Dr" he questions your diagnosis when he can easily look at records. He really did upset me and let me leave with a very elevated BP. Knowing I have a new baby at home. He is very rude and disrespectful. And his MA Eva has no manners. She hates her job. The office is very unsanitary. They just spray Lysol to clean. The whole place is a disgrace. read more

General care. Excellent. Very good. Whenever I need help, Dr. Nasr is there. He's very patient and doesn't give you 15 minutes and say goodbye. Some sessions have lasted close to an hour. He never hesitates to get me a referral. Work with him, show some personality and it will be returned to your fullest expectation. read more

Was going back through my old reviews and realized I'd given Dr. Nasr a 5 star. That was after the first visit. After a few more visits, he ended up telling me my thyroid nodule was almost certainly cancerous and that he wouldn't see me again unless I agreed to the surgery ASAP. I switched my care to UCSD, got a second opinion, and was told the nodule was non-urgent. I eventually had the surgery, without panic, at a time convenient for me and found an endocrinologist to provide care in the mean time. The nodule was benign. No cancer. To this day, this doctor is my testimony about why you NEED second opinions. read more

Rude, rude, rude! If he was even moderately intelligent and coherent or even moderately up to date on the treatment of diabetes, it may be tolerable to put up with his rudeness. However, all he's good for is refilling your prescriptions and God forbid if you need any medical expertise. I asked for a cardio referral to a state where i have a second home and spend the summers, and you would have thought I asked him to do something illegal! After calling me crazy, I told him to stop talking to me like that and told him he has bad bedside manners and then told him he would no longer be my doctor. Stay away from this quack!! read more

I was quite surprised by the low reviews Dr. Nasr's office received. I went to him for a medical condition that requires the expertise of an endocrinologist. Upon entering the office, I was met by 2 ladies at the window. They were very helpful, kind, and fully of smiles. After filling out paperwork, I was called to the back and a another sweet and gently speaking medical assistant took my vitals and I answered a few questions. Shortly after, Dr. Nasr came in. Me was very kind. He was very attentive to my concerns about my condition and family history. We went through a slew of sympthoms. He looked over my records, talked to me about adverse reactions with other medications, and pretty much a game plan to get me into recession and keep me there. We joked and laughed a bit and then he got me some information to read up on and a prescription to help me regain some normalcy. I'm very thankful for Dr. Nasr. I appreciate his time, his knowledge, and his help. read more

What a TERRIBLE office and staff! Upon walking into the office for my 1:50 appointment time today, I enter into the dark (as in no lights on in the entire waiting area) and walk to the desk where I see the receptionist (also the intake nurse) sucking on a lollipop. I said, "Hello" and let her know I was there for an appointment. She eventually must not want me filling out paper work at her counter because she comes out to the waiting area and turns on some lights. 2:17p.m. I am taken into an exam room. The intake nurse (remember the receptionist?) takes my pulse the old fashioned way...count, count, count, for 60 seconds. She then gets a few background questions out of the way and says the doctor will be in. Sure enough, a few minutes later Dr. Nasr did come in. He let me know his name but made no attempt to shake my hand, or exchange ANY type of pleasantries. He sat in his chair and began reading my file. Then he looked up and questioned if I was there for a metabolic issue, to which I said no. I then told him several problems that I am having with iron levels, vitamin deficiencies, etc (all things that endocrinologists cover) and he looked at me and boomed, "Why would you think I am the doctor YOU need?". He did not want to hear that I had been referred or that I had common complaints that people seek an endocrinologist for. He told me to go find a different doctor. I am shocked by this doctor's rudeness and close mindedness. He actually did me a favor refusing to see me, as if this is how he is upon meeting someone new, I am sure his bedside manners do not get any better. The only consolation is that he assured me he would not be charging me for today's visit when I let him know I did not want to be charged for my time in his office. Thanks Dr. Nasr for an hour lost in your office, feeling like somehow I am a bad person for following my primary care physician's recommendation of seeing an endocrinologist, and now having the pleasure to sit on a real endocrinologist's wait list for an appointment. read more

I don't care about doctors personalities, I don't need bedside manner or handholding. But I do need competence and open mindedness. In my opinion, Dr Nasr has neither - he doesn't keep up with recent research/studies, e.g., he isn't up to date on testosterone's relation to cardiovascular disease and prostate cancer in men, or the many research studies that have been done on this in the last decade. He told me he couldn't help because "it's complicated". Before he asked what I wanted he told me he couldn't do this or that, none of which I had asked for. E.g., he assumed I had come in for hormone replacement therapy. I suppose if you have a cookie cutter case that is simple and the solution is long established, he might be OK, but this isn't the thoughtful, knowledgeable and well informed type of care that we generally look for in a physician, is it? read more

lol....I read some of the reviews and I totally agree,he is very rude and has no compassion. He has a big Harvard chip on his shoulder. it's funny how a person can have the finest education or status and be so pompous and rude . Yes he is a good Doctor and knows his profession,other than that,he has a personality of a door knob. As far as treating my medical conditions, I will continue seeing him. Great caring knowlegable doctor whom listens and spends a good amount of time getting to know you and your health backround and concerns. The staff was very professional and helpful . Would highly recommend . Dr Nasr called himself to give me my blood test results and recommendations. read more

One star is being generous in rating Dr. Nasr. My first experience with Dr. Nasr was over a year ago. Although I wasn't thrilled with him at that time, I dealt with it. At that time he told me "if you just need a doctor to fill your prescriptions, I can be that doctor." I thought that was odd at the time...a doctor that just wants to fill prescriptions and never want to test me or see me?!? I decided to take the initiative and make an appointment to see him. After all, it had been over a year and he was still filling my prescriptions without having seen me all this time. The first available appointment was a month and a half away. When I arrived, the front office never greeted me when I walked in. I signed in and took a seat. I sat...and sat....and sat. I listened to the two front office staff chat with each other and talk on the phone to their family. After 25 minutes, I kindly walked up to the desk to ask them if they needed anything from me. The staff then began getting my file ready. One positive thing I can say is once I was processed at the front desk, I was in the patient room shortly thereafter (10 minutes). After spending 10 minutes with the nurse taking pulse, going over medications, she said the doctor will be in soon. She left the door open in which I could overhear Dr. Nasr talk to the office staff about the patient he just finished up with and he said "she is too complex and needs to see someone else." He then went into his office and a minute later emerges and enters my room. He said a quick hello and sat at the little desk flipping through papers the nurse had left. He then proceeds to ask about my history. I am dumbfounded because this was the second or third time seeing him and I had previously discussed all of this with him then. After a few minutes of questioning me, my wife spoke up saying "he has seen you before." He says "oh" and turns to look at the laptop (as if finally looking at my file). He then starts In with more questions he should know the answers to. I told him my primary doctor and cancer specialist had recently medically disabled me. He FLIPPED OUT when I told him this and he began yelling at me "I dont believe it" and that he "is disappointed with my primary doctor" and called my cancer specialist a "feel-good doctor." He proceeded to yell at myself and my wife and call me a cheat. I never asked to be diagnosed disabled from my other doctors...they did it on their own...and this guy is calling me a cheat like I am trying to pull a fast one. He refused to read into my file or check me out and told me he would no longer see me. I was in shock! I just waited 45 minutes to be yelled at for 5 minutes by Dr. Nasr! I requested my money back and left in disbelief. I would not refer my worst enemy to this guy. He should not be in practice!! read more

My 86 year old mother, an insulin dependent diabetic for almost 50 years, asked Dr. Nasr for a prescription so she could test herself 4 times a day instead of 3. Just once more before bed, because her blood sugar had become quite unstable. The incredibly rude and loud mouthed Dr. Nasr told her NO, medicare wouldn't like that. I gladly took my mother to another Dr. and they said of course you can test your before bed, and were disgusted that Nasr gave her any problem. I hear his son is just as bad. read more

Dr. Nasr is a great and caring doctor with a great staff.

Dr. Nasr has taken care of my father, my late husband and me for many years. He takes a real interest in a patient's health problems and shows true expertise in treating them. His office staff follows through and I never have to worry about getting a prescription filled or sent to the right pharmacy. He calls back personally, even after work hours, to relay the results of a test we have had. Caring and concern are the bywords of Dr. Nasr and his whole office. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more
