One free kids meal per adult grill meal on Tuesdays. The food tasted good. The sauces were diverse and great. The service was okay, but the whole experience was fun. I liked the build-your-own concept BUT.... At the end of the day, it's still just a Chinese buffet with more control over the ingredients. For $17.99 per adult, it may just be worth it to try once. So, I honestly think this place isn't good, but edible. The step-son wanted to go here for his birthday... HOWEVER- the staff work hard to keep service and food in order. I watched as they worked hard as a team. Place was pretty clean considering how quickly it can get dirty. They were half full of patrons. I followed one recipe and made my own. I only had 30 minutes for lunch, so I didn't have time to get a 2nd bowl. I can't comment on the food since I was the one who put it together. I must say it was delicious. Loved the variety of proteins, starches, and fresh veggies. It was all done so the veggies are cooked, but still have a good crispness. They give suggestions on the sauces depending on what you feel like having sweet, mild, hot, or in-between. The bowls are on the small side compared to other Mongolian places I've been to. But you can go back for 2nds or make 2 bowls. The line for bowl making can get backed up during lunch. They were short stuffed for lunch, which is probably why I didn't get a straw with my drink and it took a while to get the bill. I'll be going back when I have the time to enjoy it better. read more

I think this place is pretty cool. I like the concept. It is similar to a buffet but instead of it being completely self serve it is completely a Mongolian grill instead of a normal Chinese buffet where it's mostly stuff you just grab and take straight to the table. So you grab whatever ingredients you want, take it to the people at the grill, and wait for them to cook it for you. It is also an all-you-can eat place. They do have some extra options on the menu as well that aren't part of the Mongolian grill, like appetizers and desserts. The buffet area where you get your ingredients was kind of messy, but not horrible. I think they could just do a bit better of a job with making sure it looks nice. I got two bowls. My first bowl was a bit of a shot in the dark because I didn't really know what I was doing, or what flavors/ ingredients I was actually in the mood for. It wasn't bad, but I didn't build the best plate. There were things I tried and didn't end up eating. My second plate was a ton better! I had a better idea of what was happening and what everything tasted like, and what they might all taste like together in one plate. I also tried a different sauce and I think that made a huge difference. The first time around, I went with one of the spicier sauce options. I liked it, but I don't think it worked woh what I had. The second time I actually decided to go milder with the peanut sauce, and I loved it! The service was nice. Our waitress was good about explaining how everything worked, and the cooks at the grill were positive and friendly. I thought that was especially cool because it looked like it was super hot back there, but they still had such an awesome and welcoming attitude. Probably getting a whole star for that! read more

I had to come back for more delicious food!!! This time during the dinner hour and our server was really attentive. This is fun and helps you learn the chemistry of Asian cooking. You can experiment and find out through discovery which foods and spices go together. They are very organized. If you know what you're doing, you can experiment with different combinations. The better you are at picking good combinations, the better your food will taste. A mistake we made was putting too much on out plates the first time through. Next time we go, I'm going to put just a little and try several different combinations and see how different foods and sauce go with each other. I think I will read some Asian recipes first. I've been to several differently Mongolian grills. In all of them, they had dry meat. There must be a reason. Maybe it stays fresh better or cooks faster. It would be pretty bad if all your vegetables were done and the meat was still underdone. There must be a reason since they all seem to use dry meat. It tastes good with the right sauces. I'm looking forward to future visits. It's not just getting a good meal but fun. It's a chance for us to be creative and learn without all the chopping and clean up. We can become better cooks by developing an instinct for what goes well together. Actually, Hu Hot makes it easy for you. They have a chart that suggests mixtures ranging from mild to hot. Why don't we have one of these in Cali? We decided on the lunch buffet for 10.99...You get exactly what you want, and if you feel like trying another flavor or combination plate, then you do it again! At first, the idea of helping yourself to a do it yourself Mongolian food bar was different. You walk up to the bar, check out their variety of noodles/frozen meats/fresh veggies/gazillion sauces...It's like, "huh! Ok, let's try this..." So I filled my 2 bowls, one with noodles, meats...the other veggies. I was a little concerned how my food combination would come out. I knew the most important part of this was the flavor of the sauce. I wish I can just take my pinky finger and swipe a little taste of each of the sauces, but you can't - it would be contaminating. So, having faith in their Thai signature sauce, I doused my bowls about 5 times! Then, you hand off your bowls to the cooks and wait 3-5 min to watch your meal being cooked on front of you on their large, round grill...quite cool. It turned out awesome, I must say...They do offer menu options, but if a buffet is offered, I go that route. I did, however, order their Khan's chocolate layer cake from the menu. Great place for family or groups. Our high school robotics team from KCMO was visiting Tulsa for a tournament recently and we decided to return to HuHot after a great experience previous travels. Misty and the staff did not fail to accommodate a group of 30+ hungry high schoolers with grace and a smile. Not only did staff treat us like stars but the selection is huge and fresh and plentiful! The food looked and tasted great and was cooked just right by their crew of grill chefs. Everyone builds their own entree and choses the seasoning and level of the heat. The price is so reasonable. We truly enjoyed our experience here! It was the perfect venue for our soccer team after a game. The girls were able to have healthy options that replenished their bodies after some hard games. They were also able to support the allergies within our group. I loved that each girl was able to create her own unique bowl and go back for more when she was ready! If I could give this place zero stars I would. There is a city of Tulsa mask mandate and I just watched an entire family walk in with no mask and it wasn't enforced by the employees. Another man in front of us with a "Proud Boy" t-shirt also did not have a mask on (imagine that). The food was also sub par. The meat wasn't great quality. Dry chicken and beef. It's a great concept but they are definitely not complying with cdc code regulations. They have a sign that says masks $1.25. Weird. Also it is buffet and everyone is crowded up around you while you can grab the utensils with bare hands if you want. We love Hu-hot. The only time I absolutely refused to eat my meal was when my husband got our food to go and thought ihe saw guacamole at an Asian restaurant. He put a great big glob of Wasabi right in the middle of everything. I didn't get to eat my food at all because I had mixed it in with everything. I was so upset. I like Wasabi but not that much. If you like hot & spicy you read the directions for the correct sauces and you do the opposite if you prefer mild sauces. Who says you have to have more than one kind of sauce? HuHot is predictably good...I like the selection and the speed of getting your bowl loaded with dual lines...and the grill is huge! The sauces are good and you don't have to put 15 scoops on to get some flavor. The meats are frozen as are most places and the food is literally endless unlike Genghis and some of the other chain mongoliam grills. I like that you can get a nice salad to accompany your meal and this keeps you from tanking up on high calorie goodness...dang! If anything, I wish they would offer brown rice in addition to the plain Jane, middle-America white steamed. There is a movie theater in the same center as this HuHot so I decided to catch a movie but first eat dinner at HuHot. New in town, I never knew of this chain but being called a grill I expected to spend some money. Fine. when I walked in it looked like a buffet. The greeter nor the waitress seemed interested in answering any of my questions before I was marched to my table and handed the menu. I was annoyed at the menu. I don't mind spending money on a good buffet even if it is expensive. But HuHot takes the cake in charging additional for appetizers (and they are not cheap) and that made me lose interest in further having my pockets picked. Now I had o sit and observe how others were getting their food and how they walked over to the grill to get it stirred and cooked. The food was not bad but not impressive either. the servers that day could have been better. I have had several experiences with this type of dining across the country, but this was my wife's first Mongolian BBQ experience and she loved it! I did, too! Our server/waitress, Courtney, was very attentive nice and helpful, especially when they were a little short staffed and a busy time of day. The food was really fresh and a nice variety of ingredients to choose from. The sauces were all delicious! The staff did a great job of trying to keep the counters clean and bins well stocked. Only three cooks were working the grill but managed to keep up with the customers and seemed to be having fun, especially Zachary, who was so polite and courteous with a wonderful sense of humor and great attitude. My wife and I ate here last night. This is one of those guilty pleasure restaurants that we go to every so often. The staff is always friendly and granted, though you make your own bowl and watch them cook it on the big steel wok, they do provide coaching from time to time and I don't know that I have ever had a bad bowl of food. Even when I may have gone a little too hot on the spices. And be advised, their definition of hot is probably not the definition of hot do you think it might be. It's hot! I've been going to Mongolian BBQ places for so long I have my system down and any deviation from it will throw off my flavors, so 2 bowls for me, every time.
