P&J special w/ shrimp

P&J special with shrimp - so so good. I've had a few dishes here, but this one is definitely may favorite.

Spicy Miso Soup with Chicken

Service was great! Our server was kind and refilled our drinks quickly. This was my first time trying this place and honestly it was one of the best ramens I've had. The chicken was well seasoned and I've never had one like this anywhere else! Will be back again forsure

Food is always good here I love their ramen here so much. Seriously one of my favorite ramen in Tulsa. Hole in the wall vibes with great food. Price is great. The one thing I hadn't liked are the spring rolls and the peanut sauce, the sauce is just so thick and the lettuce taste chemically.

Such an underrated spot! The pho here is always perfect. Broth is not oily, but very full-bodied and flavorful. The portions are large. My whole family loves this place and any time I've brought folks here, they agree that it's great. We also love the potstickers and seaweed salad. I appreciate non-pork gyoza options, and this is one of the few places in town that offer them! Service is fast and friendly. They are always so kind and accommodating, especially with my kiddo. It feels pretty dicey, but don't let that keep you from coming in. It's a regular spot for my family!

I was skeptical about Pho & Japanese Sushi but it was actually pretty good. I loved the sashimi salad. This was the best sashimi salad in Tulsa area. The amount sashimi in the salad was abundant that I wished for more salad. The dressing was great, but for an $18 salad, the portion size was rather small. They could have given me more to make it worth the money. The tonkotsu kuro was delicious as well. I LOVED the pork bellies at Pho & Japanese Sushi, the BEST. They were charred on the surface and fatty on the inside. This was possible because the pork belly slices were THICK. The broth of their ramen could have been more flavorful. On this visit, the broth was a little light, definitely not the best to me. I looked through some pictures of their "pho" and decided not to try. I don't usually recommend before trying but from pictures alone, I would get the "pho" out instead. The restaurant is small and really not that fancy inside. The prices are very reasonable though. I would definitely come back for ramen because it was fairly cheap with delicious pork bellies and decent broth. The restaurant would need a little more work for me to yield the last star.

So good. So so good, me and my girlfriend have started going here once a week, highlights are the ramen, the fried sushi, the pho, and the green curry. Service is always great.

Excellent pho, actually the best broth I have ever had. Fast and friendly service, I will certainly be back.

Their website put in two orders instead of one

They won't call you if a mistake has happened. They'll literally force you to accept whatever. Don't order here. They'll never give you your money back.

Stuffed Jalapeños

Highly recommend the Tonkotsu ramen, pork or chicken with level 1 or 2 spice. I love eating at this place, my favorite Pho restaurants. The food is savory and unique. One of Tulsas hidden treasures for a Pho restaurant. The service is great, food comes out quick as you can hear your food being prepared nearby. Delicious!

Pho toppings

This place is decent. Clearly ran by a family that were all super nice. Pho was really good. Miso wasn't warm enough and had a lot of onions and not worth $3.50 but it was a super cold day. The restaurant wasn't really warm either but the pho was piping hot! Fire Dragon roll was my favorite with lots of crab on top. The sunset roll and crazy boy were pretty good just nothing over the top amazing.

So good! We shared several items: tempura shrimp roll, pork bahn-mi, and chicken pad Thai. All were 10 out of 10. Coming back here for sure.

Ask the Community - Pho & Japanese Sushi

When do they have their sushi happy hour?

(918) 574-2888

Did this place close & reopen? Still same owners? I know the sign has changed but the name has not.

The old owners sold their business but they kept all the recipes and everything, and they did a little remodeling inside

Located in downtown Tulsa, Kai Vietnamese Cuisine offers customers authentic Vietnamese food with a modern atmosphere. The restaurant is the only Vietnamese restaurant that offers a bar serving alcohol. The Vietnamese pho at Kai was delicious. The broth was savory and aromatic. The pho vegetables plate was bountiful. My favorite aspect of the soup was the pho noodles, just soft enough to maintain that springy texture that's so difficult to achieve. The fresh spring rolls were also excellent. Kai does not shy from giving customers jumbo size spring rolls. I also love the hot tea served at this restaurant which uses dried tea leaves. If there's a criticism with Kai, it would be the lack of variety of meats in their combination pho which only had 3 different meats, far fewer than what's standard for this dish.

After many years of…read morereturning, I am actually downgrading this once beloved restaurant based on my most recent visit in March 2026. Service was really slow on this particular visit. I had the Vietnamese combination pho as usual. The broth lacked flavors. The combination pho only had meatballs and rare beef. How's that even combination? The pho noodles were too soft. The rice papers used as the wraps for the fresh spring rolls were a little hard. I was not impressed with Viet Huong on this particular visit. This hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant used to be my favorite restaurant in Tulsa. That time has gone. Maybe, next visit will write a different story. I came back just to make sure my review was accurate. I tried both Bun Bo Hue (my favorite Vietnamese soup) and the Vietnamese pho. The pho broth was the same (mildly flavorful) but the noodles were more firm than last time. The Bun Bo Hue was comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa, but I would say none of them are exceptional. Good luck finding a Vietnamese restaurant that serves exceptional Bun Bo Hue in Tulsa like Pho Cuong in Oklahoma City.

I've eaten the Vietnamese pho at this restaurant several times along with a few other entrees. The pho bowl of this restaurant is too small making it difficult to fit all the pho vegetables inside, especially when they fill the small bowl almost to the rim. The best feature of the pho was the meats which are my favorite of all the Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa. The broth was okay, and pho noodles were soft without much texture. They always seemed to be out of fresh spring rolls, making me to doubt whether they even have them anymore. Service was very slow at Mekong River. On weekdays, there's usually only server available whether the restaurant is busy or not. One other thing I really like about Mekong River is the pre-brewed hot tea, giving the tea that mild bitter taste.

The flavor seems different -- not as rich or deep as before. I also ordered the chicken rice, and it was very dry and lacked the flavor it used to have. Hoping they can improve and bring back the quality and speed they were once known for.

I am very partial to a place that offers my kids independence and treats them like humans, asking what they want even though they are 5 and 6. As soon as we walked in, he started to speak with us like we were long-time family and treated us as such the entire time. That was just the beginning.. The service was extremely quick and efficient. The owner was very great and attentive with us and made sure we didn't need anything, but also didn't hound us the entire meal. I sadly did not get a photo of any of the food, as soon as it hit our table, it was gone! The food was so good, we ordered the steak and meatball pho, the signature pho, pork bahn mi, and the chicken fried rice. My children absolutely destroyed the rice, my wife took out her steak and meatball pho, and I took out the bahn mi and the signature pho way faster than I would have usually liked because I couldn't stop. The servings were great and more than enough for the price. The flavor was FAR beyond what the price suggests. Out of all the places I have been for bahn mi and pho throughout my travels around the world, this is one of my favorites. We drove over 45 minutes to get there, and just to try the food solely from the looks and the reviews I read. DO NOT sleep on this place, they are far beyond your time and travels.
