Nice and clean, it's a buffet so no need to overload on your first trip through the line. You fill your bowl with everything you want, be sure to add plenty of the liquid seasonings. I recommend at least 6 spoonfuls. Be sure to leave a tip for the cooks and ring the gong, they like that! read more

My adult family of 4 decided to try HuHot because my husband and I are on the keto/carnivore diet. When we arrived we were greeted by Amanda, our amazing server. My daughter told her that we have never been there before so wasn't sure how it worked. She took the time to explained everything to us. Plastics gloves were at the start of the buffet and everything was nicely stocked. Amanda said to start with two bowls. One bowl for meat and one for veggies. We noticed that other people just piled it all in one bowl. They had the normal carb stuff,rice, 2 -3 different type of carb noodles, but they also had zoodles. The proteins were eggs, shrimp, pollack, imitation crab, regular and spicy kielbasa, ham, steak, chicken and breaded chicken. The next station was the veggies, cabbage, onions, green peppers, celery, bean sprouts, broccoli, mushrooms, fruit items. The last station was the sauces. There was a lot of sauces!!! Amanda recommended that you add 5-8 ladles of sauces to one of your bowls. My daughter, who got noodles her first trip did not add enough sauces to her bowl so the chef told her that she needed to add more because her noodles would burn up on the grill. You take your stuff to the grill and they ask you if you have any food allergies because they cook many bowls at one time. Once you give the food to the chef, it takes 3 minutes from start to finish for your food to be done. They hand you the food, and at the end of the bar is a station where you can add sunflower seeds, peanuts, red pepper, sesame seeds, chow mein noodles, and sweet chili sauce. We all loved it!! White steamed rice is brought to the table to compliment the meal and I gotta tell you going up twice filled me up for lunch and come dinner time I was still full! If you've been to Genghis Grill then I doubt you'll like HuHot. The style is the same, but the taste and quality of the food is not. I do give them points for having friendly service, but it just doesn't cut it if the food isn't good. I liked that we had a choice of soup or salad with our meal, but the hot and sour soup I had was over seasoned with pepper that I couldn't stop choking with each sip. I love hot and sour soup and just wanted to taste the flavor, but it was spicy to the point of being unedible/drinkable. I'm not sure what's different about the sauces between Genghis and HuHot, but there is definitely a difference between the taste. My food was dried out and I used 5 ladles of sauce. At Genghis, you only need 1 small cup of sauce and that ties in your whole meal. We didn't know that it was all you can eat, but even when we found out, we really didn't want a second round. I would recommend going to Genghis if you're looking to eat this type of food. Much better quality for the price. read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill... We stopped in on a Saturday night a couple of nights ago after a long drive back from Edmond UCO. This place was at the family's request and I admit I enjoy the novelty of eating here as well. We've been here a dozen times or so and for they offer it's been a decent experience the majority of the time. If you've never been there, here's the spill... Get seated, order drinks and extras then proceed to the islands to prepare a bowl for your liking. A wide variety of noodles, rice, meats, vegetables fruit etc are available to be cooked on the grill. You pick out what you like and then place it in the bowl. Once your meats and veggies have been selected you can then proceed to the sauce island where you can choose from about 20 different sauces and juices to flavor you proteins and fiber with. There are recipes to follow for different known flavors, but the shear combination of sauces can lead to an endless number of flavor possibilities. From there you get in a semicircular line that surrounds the grill of about three to five cooks who take your dish and lay it out on the donut shaped flat top grill. Like pieces of a pie they walk around the grill stirring, chopping and whooping loudly when a small gong is struck to signify they have received a tip. They continue to churn the food you've presented until reaches a safe temperature and is fully cooked and ready to eat, it is then scraped off the grill into a clean dish and handed over to its creator. I have found on our visits that they cater to folks with food allergies and will actually "rope off" a section of the grill and scrub it down to the metal to eliminate the possibility of cross contamination as dishes are usually cooked within inches of one another. One of these people in the line is fine, but two of them at the same time can bring things to a screeching halt as we found out one night. This is what I created for review. * Ice tea no sugar. I asked for lemon and never received it. * Yakisoba noodles, sausage slices, beef slices, carrot slivers, bean sprouts, sliced onions, tomato slices, potato chunks, cilantro, three ladles of Kahn's revenge, a ladle of garlic and soy sauce each and two ladles of lime juice. Busy night here at the HuHot Grill, cooks were gamey and kept the line moving. A young lady spent a great deal of time wiping down the bar top where the food is placed while you wait. I must say that this is a place that is not for hardcore germaphobes, as you use the islands your mind could wander and envision the countless hands have touched the same utensils you have used and who knows where their hands were last? They do however, do a really good job keeping things cleaned up as this island type bar can easily get destroyed by those who are sloppy and inconsiderate of others behind them as they dig through the cornucopia of meats, noodles and vegetables while they load their bowls to the brim. The sign says take one bowl and I always take two. I'll put meats, noodles and sauces in one and vegetables and juices in the other. Not to get more on each pass through the line it just helps keeps me from trying pile on everything into a little bowl that's going to allow me to make a mess while I'm trying to make it to the grill. Can't say the food has ever been bad and I always get my spicy food fix as the Khan's Revenge sauce is no joke. If the food doesn't taste how you want, it's no their fault...There is a sign at the end of the bar where you pick up your food and it says this. My 5 star rating is because of our amazing waitress Kristen! She off the bat told us it was her first night taking orders and being on the floor and she was amazing!! The food was honestly not mine or my families favorite but the service outshined! The grill and area around it is filthy. About 1/3 of the veggies were wilted &/or looked unappetizing. The mushrooms were absolutely disgusting & past their due date- smelled horrible. Seafood smelled awful & like it was left out all day (which it probably was). The sauces area was a disaster- sauces all over the floor, counter and ladles. I got some that dropped on my boots & shirt. We politely told the wait staff about it all but they didn't seem to care much. They were polite but very busy. Never got a straw for drinks or a refill. Our appetizer was very over cooked and Asian salads had wilted lettuce & mushy oranges on top with crushed up Ramen noodles. Very unappetizing. I had high hopes from friends recommendations- also the line to cook food was ridiculously long. Okay ! It was Tuesday- kids eat free- blame that idk but server disappeared every time!!! The line was ridiculous, and to be training a cook on a busy freaking night, heck no! So there was no shrimp or crab meat, the steak was sliced so thin and it's frozen strips- yuck, that was constantly empty. Tiny bowl to put all your veggies in, so I had 2 bowls going. Ate here last night, taking advantage of the "kids eat free" promotion. Our expectations were pretty low, given that it's a chain. Walked in (two adults, two small kids) to a mostly-empty restaurant, and awkwardly waited several minutes in front of the host stand while the waitstaff had a protracted conversation about where to seat us. Weird. General condition of the restaurant seems dingy, with sticky tables, dirty floors, and unkempt buffet surfaces. Food was fine, and the staff was generally friendly, but the service was lousy - Our drinks stayed largely empty, and on the second refill my iced tea was replaced with water. Whatever. Pretty sure the median age for the entire staff is 19. They seemed far more interested in socializing with each other than cleaning or tending to the guests. And honestly, there are way better places to spend $13.99/person on real Asian food. read more

We used to eat there a lot pre-pandemic. So we were so excited to see that we could have it delivered through ubereats. Tonight, we placed an order and when it got to us, all of it was wrong. One stir fry came half full with all of the incorrect items. Two came with mussels which only one should have due to allergies. We were missing an entire item. We paid over $100 to have this delivered tonight and didn't get to eat any of it because it was all wrong. We called about the mixup and Josh "the manager" said it was all Uber's fault. All Uber does is deliver it... They didn't prepare or pack the food. He said it wasn't his fault that our order was wrong. He didn't apologize, offer to make it right... nothing. Just put it off on the driver which fulfilled his part. We eat out frequently, but will never eat there again...in person or otherwise. The quality of the food is not amazing and service is mediocre, but for $13 you get unlimited bowls and a decent selection of veggies and sauces. Couple of complaints: Meat selection is severely lacking... the quality of the meat is pretty subpar in comparison to places like Genghis Grill and if you want anything besides beef/chicken/pork/sausage/crab, you are out of luck. Don't expect to find much seafood here. Service was also mediocre. Despite the place being nearly empty during dinner time, our waitress was nowhere to be found during most of our dinner, rarely coming by to check in our meal or refill or water. To pay the bill, we had to ask one of the busboys to go fetch her from her hiding place in the kitchen. On a different note, I do appreciate being able to get unlimited bowls for $13. No longer do you have to stack a single bowl of veggies and meats sky-high to get your money's worth. The selection of sauces is quite extensive and there are enough basic sauces to help you construct a bowl the distinctive flavor you want. TL;DR - quality is meh, variety is meh, service is meh, but quantity is good for price point. read more

Yesterday when dining at HuHot in Tulsa, we had a pretty crappy experience. There appeared to be no hostess to seat anyone and we had to wait for a waitress to see us and seat us. After getting to our table, we made our way to the bowls to start building our plates. Once we got there, it was pretty bare. There was no chicken, beef or pork in the chilled protein section. And if that wasn't bad enough, several of the veggies were also barren. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to bring any ingredients out to the bar for the large line of folks who were waiting. Once we were able to sit down, we were informed that there was no rice available either. Our server Amy was very apologetic but you could see that she was overwhelmed. Having spent time in Mongolia, and Hohot, I was hoping for some somewhat authentic Asian dishes, but it's just a stir fried noodle bar. For $8 at lunch, the unlimited food is worth it, but it's just a step above your typical chow mein. If the meat was fresh instead of frozen, and there were a few more types of noodles available, I would be happy to pay twice the price. On the plus side, the service is excellent, the guys working the grill are entertaining, and there is a good variety of their own concoction of sauces along with the basic Asian sauces. I have no complaints regarding the buffet grill. Sure it can get a bit messy, but that's just how it is. Try not to look at the floor near the or think to hard about where all the sludge they have scraped off the grill goes. Really it all tastes good, because you got to select what you want in it and what it should taste like. What's not so good? The salads seem sad. The Hot and Sour soup is pretty disgusting. Just a mediocre restaurant. It's a good value if you're wanting a lot of food and better quality than most buffet-style restaurants, and you want to stay in South Tulsa. Here raw meats, veggies, rice/noodles and sauces are chosen and placed in a bowl then cooked on a large Mongolian style grill while you wait for it to be cooked. I've been to other Mongolian style chain restaurants in town that offer a better selection of meats, veggies, sauces and also spices where a number is given and they bring you the bowl once finished. If I'm wanting this style fare I will drive a little and go to a Genghis Grill. read more

Had lunch here for the first time. This will be a review of comparisons. I have eaten at the other new Mongolian place in town a few times. Similar concepts but a few key differences. The places was clean, nice looking, semi standard looking restaurant with a grill operated by one or two cooks. Grab a bowl and go down the line. Meats, noodles, veggies, sauces, cook. The meats looked great, several options to choose from and the bar area was kept clean. Noodles were good as well. Veggies. Not so much. The bell peppers that I got has spots and visible blemishes on them, and these are already sliced. The bok choy was mostly stems. The tofu had a couple of good pieces in it, the rest looked like someone mashed it with a whisk. It looked like cottage cheese. I looked for raw eggs so I could have one cooked into my dish. No such luck. Went on to the sauces, they had plenty to choose from so that was good. Gave my selections to the cook who prepared them with a little flair. You have to wait for the food to be done vs them bringing it to you. No biggie as long as you don't mind standing and or feeling guilty about not tipping the cook. Sat down at the table. Silverware was put at the corner (there were 4 of us). We had 4 forks and 2 napkins. Ok.... Waitress came by halfway through the meal with refills. That was nice. You can go back and get seconds without having to pay a premium. It's included. I didn't need seconds. We asked for to-go cups for our drinks. They didn't have any. Booooooo. I'll chalk this one as a bad visit. I will give them a second shot. I doubt there will be raw eggs, but we will see if others things are improved. read more

Hu hot is a different but enjoyable restaurant. The price is decent for a never ending meal. the service is decent. The concept is great! Fill a bowl with noodles, veggies, and differemt sauces and bring it to the wok cooking circle where the cooks make your stir fry fresh while you wait. The recipe board suggest what sauces to use to achieve desired ethnic dishes. While we were dining, a family with nut allergies was there; which i would assume would be a disaster for them. The cooks took time to section off a part of the grill for the family, scrubbed the grill clean and rinsed it well and emaured they could enjoy a safe meal. Kudos to Hu Hot for teaching the team how to handle everyones like and need. As far as the food goes, you design your own diah, so how it taste is really up to you. Wait time is crazy with a couple of people in restaurant. Table was so sticky my arms stuck to it. The bowls had food stuck in them. The cook didn't cook the food long enough. The noodles were still hard and the meat was still raw. Plus seen the waitress wiping down tables with the same rag. Didn't see her use any spray or bucket in between tables. I was so grossed out. The Hu Hot here in Tulsa is unfortunately not as good as its competitor, Genghis Grill. The unlimited bowl is the best feature of this restaurant. If you're really hungry, Hu Hot gets an edge. Unfortunately, the kudos stop there. The selection of meats, vegetables, and sauces is very good. However, the meat was quite dry and appeared to have been frozen for too long. The team on the flat-top did a great job, and were entertaining in their presentation and process. The wait staff was not as attentive as one would expect or desire. It appears that the policy is not to provide sweetener to patrons that order iced tea unless it is specifically requested. When we did ask for it, the waiter said "sure" and brought it approximately 10 minutes later. We were already half-way through our meal by that time. Very disappointing. The perception appears to be that all you can eat offsets the need to take great care of the patrons. Everything about this restaurant would have been better if the wait staff had been more customer service focused. read more

This restaurant "could' be good. The food was great with options and cooking. Most Mongolian grill get a little cross contamination of sauces as they move foods around the grill but this grill keeps the meals separated. The problem is the service. We waited a while to get seat with the restaurant almost vacant. Employees just looked at us. The cook was slow and even walked in the back with my meal on the grill for some time...the food was fine (grill must have been down low)...it just seemed very disinterested. I asked for water and the waiters asked if I wanted lemon which I said yes. Then brought me water without the lemon. Took forever to get check...then they walked away and I guess forgot. Before getting my food I went to the restroom and while in there I saw a roach!!! I probably should have left but took the chance and stayed to eat anyway. It was not a pleasant experience. You throw your food into bowls, drown them in sauces and oils then take them to the cooks to warm them up?? While waiting to have my over priced meal warmed up, the cooks blurted out that a couple burners went out on their flat top grill. No wonder my food was under cooked!! I'm shocked I didn't get sick!!
