BUT Circular's clothing and jewelry are so beyond just "better" than what you usually find in Anchorage. I really think it would be my go-to store if I still lived in Seattle or San Diego. It helps that the owner and employees are class acts- knowledgeable and never snotty. Ex: I ordered about 5 dresses from Revolve.com for Christmas parties this season, and none of them worked. I walked into Circular and within a few minutes had 3 excellent options, all of which were less expensive than the dresses I had ordered online. I'm so grateful Anchorage has this wonderful shop.

We showed up about 15m before they closed on a Friday night. Walked in, about 4 women on staff. No one greeted us. Walked around trying to comprehend what we were looking at for about 5 minutes. I knew they were closing soon so I went up to a tall lady with curly hair and asked her to explain to me what was native and what wasn't . We wanted to buy local it was like I was bugging her. She was condescending, just bad... I can dish it out too lady. So the backhand comments start, then she walked away and started talking bad about us to another lady. I truely don't understand when retail shops hire people with zero customer service habits. Spent 60.00 on some crap and left. Yup, we are tourists, but people like that lady took money out of the mouths of local artist that probably deserve a lot better. Side note before we left i made it clear we came to spend money to a blonde (very nice lady and possibly a native lady) both did a fantastic job and tried to break down what all the local artist items were but by that time it was closing time. They asked us to come back today at 10am but unfortunately our flight leaves at that time. Or we would have come back and bought 1k plus of gifts for our family. It's your business, do as you please. But when out of towners come and want to support local I'd imagine it's your bread and butter? Best of luck . So I went there around maybe start of summer 2025, And I was getting my first skateboard with my…read moregrandparents , I'm new to all of this but the staff helped me out so good they asked me what I wanted to do like tricks or just cruise. In picked the regular skateboard and they showed me the boards there was so much options I picked a GX board and a custom shake junt green grip tape. Then when we were setting the board up they gave me the best options because I had no budget, so they got me the best trucks, wheels, everything. And at checkout they gave me free stickers, the nice guy that helped me was a blonde dude with a beanie I don't remember his name I just know he was nice. I also came a month or 2 later to get a helmet and pads after I fractured my left arm trying to Ollie a 4 stair, and the staff was very helpful trying to see which helmet I like and if it was comfortable. And they even invited me to the skate day event that was coming up.I can now do a varial flip, Ollie, nollie, boardslide, noseslide, and I'm working on a kickflip front feeble Ollie 180 revert out.
