It's very clear how much the staff knows, and how deeply they care about every single dog that walks through their doors. Over the past few months, this is the fourth daycare we've tried for our dog. The first one we chose to leave. The next two either wouldn't accept her or ultimately asked her not to return. Our dog is an over 80-lb American Bully, and she truly doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. We started daycare and boarding when she was about 8 months old. At nearly 50 lbs already, she was placed with the large dogs. In this large group play, the challenge wasn't aggression; it was that she was young, playful, and didn't always understand when another dog didn't want to engage. Two facilities told us they couldn't keep her in group play because other dogs would become reactive when she missed social cues and it wasn't safe for them or the dogs. After the second rejection, we reached out to friends and were highly encouraged to try Pet-U-Cation. We were told upfront that the training and care are exceptional, but as a small business with limited overhead and office staff, communication can sometimes require patience (which has also been our experience). Her evaluation went great. After two day-training sessions, she became a regular at daycare, and she absolutely loves it! The growth we've seen in her socialization and ability to read other dogs has been incredible. It's also reinforced the training we're doing at home and helping her overall learning and development (consistency really is key). We love that there is no more coming home from daycare with newly acquired bad habits.

The doctor was absolutely wonderful during our first two visits--personable, knowledgeable, thorough, and willing to answer all of my questions. He left me feeling confident in my decision to bring my kitten here. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff and technicians was very different. When I scheduled my kitten's pre-operative appointment for a spay, I requested an estimate approximately 1.5 weeks in advance. Despite being told it would be sent, I had to follow up multiple times and didn't receive it until 7 PM the night before the appointment. I was also not informed that my kitten would not be seen by the doctor or that she would be taken to the back for testing without me present. I have no issue with office policies, but clients should be informed of these expectations beforehand. What concerned me most was the lack of communication and education after the appointment. Despite this being a pre-operative visit, no one discussed surgery preparation, fasting instructions, recovery expectations, or what to expect after the procedure. When I asked questions, I was repeatedly directed between the front desk and the technicians without receiving clear answers. After receiving a quote of approximately $1,200 for the spay procedure, I became concerned--not because of the cost itself, but because premium pricing should come with premium communication and follow-through. My final frustration involved obtaining my kitten's medical records. I requested all results from the appointment but did not receive the ECG report. After multiple phone calls over several days, I was given conflicting explanations ranging from "we're busy" to "the doctor must review it first" to "we aren't allowed to send it." The doctor was excellent, but the lack of organization, communication, and consistency from the support staff ultimately led us to seek care elsewhere. It's disappointing because the doctor made such a positive impression, but support staff play a significant role in the overall client experience.

I have 3 dogs, 2 of whom have separation anxiety, i.e. they get destructive and injure themselves if panic sets in because no human is present. My expected sitter for an out-of-town business trip cancelled at the last minute and I was having some pretty serious separation anxiety myself. Having cared for a long list of rescue dogs with baggage, I have worked with LOTS of different sorts of dogcare providers and have accumulated strong opinions about what optimal care looks like and how best to meet my current dogs' needs. Bonnie was incredible from start to finish, exuding a gentle but steady, grounded energy that immediately put me and my fur kids at ease. I've never experienced such a calm, easy departure or seen the dogs be unequivocally nonchalant about my arrival back home as I did on this trip. The dogs were like "oh cool, you're home now." I was ecstatic. My dogs don't hesitate to bark and carry on if I leave them with an unattentive sitter for a mere two hours. That I could be gone for 3 1/2 days -- my first ever prolonged absence from one anxious dog and the first overnight trip in 5 years for the others -- leaving them with someone they had just met (not my intention, but the reality nonetheless) and get such fabulous results is truly a testament to her skill and suitability for this type of work. Bonnie asked me how often I wanted to hear from her (3 to 4x/day!) and that's exactly what I got, text messages at key moments throughout the day. When I needed to call her, she immediately picked-up. She didn't scoff at all about my request that she bless the dogs before bed and let me talk to them on the phone. She is the sort who will follow detailed instructions to the letter, but is fully competent to take action and make decisions on her own. She is keenly observant and clearly cherishes her contact with animals in her care. A bonus: she is committed to relief work in Haiti, and this business helps fund that work. She will be my go-to choice for all future trips. So glad I found her!

Their adoption fees are cash only and they do not do vet or reference checks on potential adopters. Do not adopt an animal from this rescue, they should be shut down. Their Facebook reviews show experiences way worse than mine.

I brought my 3 year old cat Gracie in for her 1 year rabies vaccination and wellness check. Gracie had asthma which was well under control with medication and she was very healthy as the vets report card showed after the appointment. The vet who saw Gracie was Sharon Stemley who had never dealt with Gracie before but she suggested that Gracie get the feline distemper vaccine as well, which I was hesitant about because of her compromised immune system from the asthma, even though it was under control. The vet reassured me that it would be ok to give her both at the same time but Gracie became very ill just a few days later. I rushed her back to the vet and Dr. Cris tried to save her, which I really did appreciate, even though my husband and I were getting irritated that he kept trying to find every other possible excuse as to why Gracie was in such critical condition, when she was perfectly healthy before the vaccines. I knew in my gut it was from the vaccines being given to her at the same time and not separated by a few weeks like a vet tech and other veterinarian I have spoken to for a second opinion both agreed was not safe to do in Gracie's case. It overwhelmed her immune system and more than likely resulted in her death. Sykesville Veterinary Clinic refused to take accountability and compensate me for thier vets mistake. I spent the last $450 in my savings trying to save her and when I notified them Gracie had passed they gave me their condolences which I do appreciate but I couldn't even cremate her privately to keep her ashes because I had no money left to do so. I have MS and I'm disabled so money is always tight because my husband is the only one working. All they offered me was a communal cremation ($90) and they would spread her ashes in some grove somewhere. Yeah there's no way I would ever agree to that, Gracie was the light of my life, my baby. I was absolutely heartbroken and felt so disrespected and taken advantage of. It seems they care more about money than you and your precious pet. Luckily I was able to privately cremate Gracie today and keep her ashes, thanks to some of my amazing family and friends who came together to help us be able to afford it. Please be weary of getting your pets vaccinated, especially when they are already immune compromised. I hope this will help save someone else's pet from the same fate. I will never be returning to this place and absolutely refuse to bring my other cat here.

Now I have moved close to her and was expecting the same kindness and friendliness I remembered. I don't know who the woman was occupying Dr. Colwell's body. No introduction. Never spoke my dog's name as she attended to this shaking ball of fur. The tech who was holding her in a grip (parents aren't allowed to hold their kids) never petted, nor comforted nor spoke Gabby's name either. I asked a question about Gabby's nose and Dr. dismissed me and said we're dealing with her stomach. What? So I should pay for another appointment so I can ask a nose question? Another Tech came back with an estimate almost $550. RU kidding me? Whittled it down to $400 as they dickered with me about what Gabby needed. Wanted to give her unnecessary heart worm test, among other things, and didn't want to accept that she is on heartworm meds year round. When I attempted to tell the Dr. about how much i appreciated what she had done for me those years ago, she cut me off MID-WORD and left the room. Everything was cold, cold, cold. Do you see this little dog here? Her name is GABBY. I have had many dogs all my adult life. I have seen vets in three different states...some good, some not so good. I have never experienced the coldness, rudeness, and downright disrespect displayed by this woman. I should have taken my little one and WALKED OUT. Instead I'm out $400! for one of the worst experiences I have endured at a veterinary office. There is a part of me that wants to report her to the Board, that's how bad it was. But I understand I am just a lone voice. Her reviews are good. I never post reviews. But in this case, I was compelled.

Somehow the wife found Loinhart and she convinced me to come to interview Linda, the owner with her. When Linda told me she's been training dogs for over 25 years, I asked her how much, she swiped my credit card and I left the dog with her. I picked the dog up 10 weeks later. He learned 10 words. And he learned them well! Now the dog is 20 months old and is unbelievably and extremely well behaved. I attribute Leo the dog's manners and attention and calmness and even his health to the 10 weeks that he spent being trained there. If you want a really well behaved dog I highly recommend this lady. She has some funny rules like don't come inside her facility until you're called but if you listen to her, she won't disappoint you. Now 20 months later, the older the dog gets the better he behaves. It's unbelievable how the 10 words he knows takes care of every situation that the dog gets into that needs correcting. Tell her Yasmin's husband recommended her.
