This business operates a cat rescue called The Lions Den Cat Rescue. Their makeshift cattery houses many cats in small rooms and cages sharing food bowls and litter boxes that aren't clean. The cat we adopted had ear mites, ringworm, fleas, and a tapeworm infestation. He was even misgendered because he was never seen by their vet. Their adoption fees are cash only and they do not do vet or reference checks on potential adopters. Do not adopt an animal from this rescue, they should be shut down. I had such high hopes for this place. Owner seems very knowledgeable and professional from her posts on local social media sites. Our first two visits went well with our puppy. However, we made a Grooming appointment with a 3-4 week wait and was told we could drop off closer to 9am. We showed up at 8:45am and were told we had an 8am Grooming appointment and we were past our 15 minute grace period. Then proceeded to tell us we'd need to reschedule for an appointment available in 3 weeks. If your going to have such a strict policy, it should be noted on your website and you shouldn't tell the client "no worries about the exact time." read more

I can't speak to how they treat pets during daycare or boarding. The girls at the front desk seemed perfectly nice. I am frustrated with their 'screening process' for potential incoming dogs. I was very clear in my written intake and verbally, again, upon dropping off my dog, that he did NOT get along with young dogs (1.5 years and younger). I explained that he growls and lunges at them. They nodded, took him to the back for his evaluation, before he was approved to stay. I got a call about 15 minutes later saying that he "failed" his intake because he lunged at a puppy about a year old. I asked if the dog was OK, and it was. My dog didn't bite, but he definitely showed aggression. I'm angry on behalf of that puppy's owner, and for my wasted time. After all of the forms I filled out and the evaluation, other doggy daycares were full and I had to rearrange my plans to accommodate my dog. I called back to express my frustration. I never received any contact from the owner or manager. read more

Heather and Pinkies is absolutely amazing. I have never had a bad experience here and Heather has cared for my dogs for years. A lot of these reviews are people regurgitating another person's Facebook post and neither saw nor heard the incident. It is baffling to me that this is allowed on here. Upon arriving to pick my dog up (which was 2 hours past his promised time to be finished) I entered the establishment, wait for about 5 minutes for aomeone to acknowledge my presences, taking in the distinct smell of cat urine which I can only imagine is due to the excessive amounts of cats that have caged up all the time, finally an employee asked who I was picking up. I told her my dogs name and that I needed to speak to a manager, the girl said ok, walked away, came back and asked "how do you plan to pay?" I was a little taken aback because I hadn't even seen my dog to be sure his service was acceptable (this was a 2nd chance we gave to this establishment a chance after the first poor visit). I only wanted to understand why it took over 5 hours to groom my 13 year old senior yorkiepoo. His appointment was at 12pm, when called at 3pm to check on him I was told he was just getting started. So my senior dog has now been caged for over 3 hours in a hot, loud, stressful environment, #1. When I made the comment that I wouldn't pay until I spoke to a manager and young girl approached the desk with an attitude. I simply asked what was going on and why this service has taken over 5 hours when he was promised ready by 3:30pm? The owner then charges around the corner with my poor old man in her arms, squeezing him, stating if I don't pay it's theft of services, at this point I still have no explanation for my initial question that was asked, immediately was met with defense. I confronted the owner and she physically assaulted me, twice, at this point I'm angry and using choice words, I inform I'm calling the police. When the police arrive I'm told it's "their word against mine and if I just leave she won't press charges on me for assualt"... mind you I never put hands on any single person at this establishment, but the owner physically put her hands on me, twice. After frustration and realizing the police don't do anything to help any victim I took my dog and walked away. I was asked to never use their establishment again, don't worry I won't, but you shouldnt either. I could continue on about the conditions of this establishment. The disorganization, the free roaming animals, the offensive smell of cat urine as soon as you walk in the door. Not to mention, the unprofessional way this business is run. Do yourself a favor and use Barks & Bubbles right down the road... read more

My dog Champion goes to Pinkie's Play Place for regular grooming as well as boarding when we are on vacation. He is cared for well and the staff takes good care of Champion. His stays have been anywhere between two days to eight days and he comes home being himself. No altered behavior. My only suggestion is for the place to have a lock on the front door and let staff open it when someone is at the door. There are a lot of cats in the office area and what if one of them sneaks out when someone opens the door? The place is next to Rt. 108 and Rt. 32 with high traffic. I obsess over their open door policy as most other places I saw have locked gates everywhere, including the front office. Thanks. read more

My 16 month old Golden LOOOOVES going to Pinkie's. I bring him for half days a couple times a week. He started when he was about 5 months old. He also goes to the dog park. Any place (dog park or doggy daycare) has a certain amount of risk to the dogs and humans, because ... teeth. I've been very happy with how Pinkies supervises and manages the dogs. Occasionally my dog has been separated for being "humpy", and I appreciate that they have the safety of all dogs (and humans) in mind and do a great job of de-escalation. Heather has always been open to questions and providing guidance, and even spent some time with me explaining a training technique and gave me an extra lead she had. My dogs are quirky. They had issues with other places. One of our dogs has very bad separation anxiety and needs to have other people and animals around him. We now bring them in when we must be away from home for more than a few hours. We are frequent flyers and have never had anything other than great service from Heather and company. Everyone is friendly and truly loves taking care of the animals. We even have received email pictures/video of the dogs and caregivers when we have been on extended vacation. Our dogs get excited in the morning when they realize that they are going to Pinkie's.. The grooming is top notch. -- a note about that - we had previously been to a different groomer and it was not working out for them or our dog -- there has never been a problem here - dogs come back looking great without a reported problem!. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Heather and Pinkie's Play Place. My 2 yr old Chesapeake Bay Retriever hated having his nails trimmed and got to the point that we were unable to do it at the vet, even with a muzzle under sedation because he would buck and at 95 lbs it was just too dangerous. Our personal trainer recommended Heather. I drove over an hour each way, and it was so worth it! She knew exactly how to handle my boy. Heather completely understood how to manage the situation, and explained that we needed to do 3 nail trims with her and he'd be ready to go to a groomer closer to home. I did what she said, and each time she trimmed his nails in less than 5 minutes without a problem, and today I'm proud to say we went to a local groomer. He was a normal, well-adjusted, happy dog getting his nails trimmed! We owe all of this to Heather!!! I couldn't be happier! read more

My daughter took her puppy here for a basic haircut. She called prior and asked how much it would be, the Pinkie's Play Place employee said $30, when my daughter picked up her puppy the price had risen to $65 during checkout. Then the lady performing the credit card transaction had the nerve to ask for a tip. The prices online do not reflect what Pinkie's Play Place charge in person. Avoid this establishment for your pet care. The puppy's haircut was fine, it was the doubling of the price that was not. read more

We started taking our adopted puppy there for the free puppy play. After he turned 6 months, he was so addicted to going, we continued. The people who work there genuinely love dogs and you can tell when you drop off and pick up your pet. Out dog gets sooooo excited when he knows he is going to Pinkie's that he can't contain himself. It is good to get his energy scrubbed off in such a fun environment. Some days he comes home and immediately falls asleep! Love Pinkie's! read more

I've read mostly good things about Pinkies. We left our white labradoodle there all day Saturday and overnight till Sunday. She was healthy and happy and extremely dirty when we picked her up as it was rainy and wet out. I will definitely use them again. So, this establishment conducted themselves in a very unsavory and non professional manner when approached after I witnessed a child there screaming and slamming a dog to the ground... several times. I approached her about what I had just seen and her immediate reaction was to get in my face and scream profanities. When that proved to be ineffective or deter me from backing down, she took it to the next level and verbally attacked me in regards to my ethnicity. I was shocked that a small business owner would act in such a bigoted manner. She claims that animal control has cleared her but I wouldn't trust these people with any furbabies if I truly cared for their well being. As of yesterday, I have had numerous prank calls, Pinkies employees making fake profiles on FB, and even a random car show up at my home spewing hatred. They are obviously trying to intimidate me. Unfortunately, their tactics won't work. I don't know how they treat their clients within the compound walls but I know I would NEVER want them to put their hands on my furbabies after seeing how they handle them outside, in broad daylight. read more

This is my first experience with daycare for animals, and I am tickled that it works so well. The staff is very friendly, careful and caring, with an abundance of knowledge about dogs. I use Pinkie's once a week for half a day of play to get my house dog some companionship and activity besides the daily walks. She always comes back tired and played out (which is what I'm looking for!) and always eager to go back. I appreciate the staff comments about how she behaves around other dogs so I can learn what I can do myself at home. I have also boarded my dog there several times over the past eighteen months and found that the staff has been very accommodating and sweet to me and my dog. I'm extemely pleased to have this care available so close to home. read more
