Honestly, this is one of two doctors in my entire life I would not recommend. I had…read morebladder/urethral pain like a UTI but I also have interstitial cystitis. After taking antibiotics, nothing was getting better so I figured it probably is a IC flare and not a UTI. I was able to make an appointment quickly. The front desk staff etc were very friendly. But, when this doctor walked in, it was "what can I do for you?" No hi, or what brings you in today. I told her about the IC to which she replied "I don't really believe in that diagnosis". I knew right there that the visit was done. When I questioned why I treatments worked many years ago when I was diagnosed by a urogynecologist, I basically got crickets. I just kept getting told you're fine. You're feeling fine, you're fine. Ummm no, I'm not fine. Just because I feel ok today is one thing but I felt like crap the last week and a half and in pain. So a cery short visit got me no where except less money in the checking account due to a copay. I got no answers, just kept being told I don't have to worry about anything, that in fine. Mind you, I gave a urine sample she told me we do not have to culture because I'm fine. If I have UTI type symptoms, you think they'd tear it, right?! Well, I wasn't fine the next day. After a couple more days I went to urgent care. Met an amazing doctor who was so informative. They did all sorts of testing to rule out other diagnosis plus they did a urine culture to see specifically what strain of bacteria it might be, if so. Three days later, the culture came back. Turns out I had a very bad infection of a highly resistant to antibiotics bacterial strain. So the urgent care doctor at that time prescribed me the correct antibiotics for that strain. They did not want to give me antibiotics until the actual culture came back, which makes sense. I am pissed because I could have already been treated for a UTI a week ago if this urologist would test my urine instead risking my life because the infection could have gone to my kidneys or made me septic. I do not recommend this doctor at all. Clearly she cannot do her job.

I truly don't have enough words to express my gratitude for Dr. Shashoua. He literally saved my…read morelife and has continued to go above and beyond for what has been a very complicated and emotional journey with stage 4 endometriosis and infertility. I first met Dr. Shashoua after a failed embryo transfer that left me septic, internally bleeding, and in critical condition. I was so sick that I didn't fully understand what was happening -- I was truly dying. Dr. Shashoua stepped in with the urgency, skill, and calm confidence that only an exceptional surgeon can bring. He performed the emergency operation that saved my life, and I will forever be grateful. After stabilizing me, he did something that shows how deeply he cares about his patients: he referred me to a far better fertility doctor because he knew I needed more specialized and attentive care than I had previously received. That referral changed everything for my fertility journey. A few months later, he performed my endometriosis excision surgery and removed my tubes. These were major, life-altering procedures, and he approached every decision with precision, empathy, and extraordinary expertise. I now see him regularly to monitor and manage my endometriosis and infertility, and he continues to provide the highest level of care. What sets him apart is how closely he works hand-in-hand with my fertility doctor, ensuring that every aspect of my treatment is coordinated. My case is extremely complex and often overwhelming, but he has never once made me feel like a burden. He treats me with compassion, respect, and true dedication. If you have endometriosis, fertility challenges, pelvic pain, or any complicated gynecologic or urologic condition, Dr. Shashoua is the doctor you want in your corner. He is an extraordinary surgeon, an exceptional physician, and someone who genuinely cares about his patients' lives and futures. I owe him mine.

I had been diagnosed with Low T in 2005 by my doctor. Unfortunately he ran other clinics in Europe…read moreand he closed up here in the US to focus on his medical research across the pond. Disappointed by this I had to find a doctor that would recognize that Low T in a person at 24 yrs old was a legitimate concern. I looked and looked and looked.....6 years I looked. Every blood test the doctor or endocrinologist would say "Your T levels are in the normal range." Yes, test levels in the 250 range are normal I suppose.... for a 100 yr old man. Nobody wanted to help, there was this weird stigma about prescribing testosterone either as a gel (Testim) or as an injection. Finally after moving back to Chicagoland I found mens health. I called to find out the hours, they were open that day, they accepted walk-ins and my insurance! I came in, filled out their paperwork, and was seen within a couple minutes of turning in my paperwork. The doctors were very caring and really did understand the frustrations I was having in finding people to take the low t seriously. They drew my blood and explained they would have it tested to see if I qualified for testosterone therapy. The following day I received a call and I came to the office. My levels were 268 and they said that I certainly qualified for treatment and they got started right away by explaining to me the treatment protocols they could offer for low t and the often associated ED. I walked out feeling like I had finally found the place I had been looking for. Since that day I have been back every week since August or September of 2012 when I walked in the first time. Today the office has expanded its services and they now have an in house chiropractor who is just as good as any of the other medical staff at fielding your complaints and addressing them with adjustments and recommendations for stretching or physical therapy you may need. You can bring anything up to them and they will do what they can. They have given me diet plans to follow to help get the best out of the protocols as well as treated my back problems with elctro stimulation and dry needling trigger points in my lower back. They offer so much more than just Hormone therapy. I look to this office as my primary care group for one reason and one reason only... They go to great lengths to take care of their patients and address any health issue you bring up to them with a great sense of professionalism and take what you say seriously. If they cannot provide the care you need, trust that they will find someone who can. Your health and well being is their top priority.

She has some medications prescribed for her from her doc but they both are out of date. She perceives they both could help in some way to reduce significant pain. She had a procedure eight days earlier. She wants to take one of the medications they have prescribed for her a couple of years ago but she wants doctor's approval. She thinks either one might help her here and now in the moment. She calls the doctor/clinic. They are supposed to have a doctor on call 24/7. She describes her situation. I'm teary-eyed as I listen. It's not a direct connect with a doctor on call. It's, you know, a third person who is merely an operator. This person assures She will get the information to the dr. on call immediately. After thirty minutes, we don't hear anything. She gambles takes one of the medications. Fast-forward to when we are both awake at 8:00 a.m. A lot has happened in those five hours but no phone call from supposedly the doc on call. But taking one of those medications she thought would help has helped somewhat. We call again. The person answering said within a couple of seconds of my wife identifying herself, "I see your call from earlier, someone will be calling you back very soon. They will call you back shortly." A whole hour goes by. Like just after 9. Finally getting a call back from the person who was responding to her 3:00 a.m. call. Rolling my eyes. Seriously. The caller listens compassionately to my wife (and then to me expressing deep disappointment in this delay) and says she will get the message to my wife's doctor and she hopes he doctor will get back to her within an hour. Four hours later. We don't get a call from her doc. It's the person we talked to after 9 a.m.

They had internal delays, one person not talking with the other. Each time I called in to check there was no progress and it felt like I was starting all over again. Their call service was extremely rude and there was no accountability. I ended up not getting the medication in time for my trip, which required me to make alternative plans. Upon returning, they sent me a letter and terminated their "relationship" with me. I would strongly recommend taking a look around at alternatives and finding an office that values patient care and takes responsibility for the role and impact they have on peoples lives.
