Charcuterie and a sweet, chilled red wine
    Kara P.

I had a great first visit here for a solo date night. Chris took good care of me. He went to great lengths to help me find a delicious chilled red wine which I sampled along the way. The mini charcuterie I enjoyed was quite tasty. The vibe is quaint with a little patio attached to make indoor or outdoor seating an option. I'll have to go back soon to try an actual meal.

Intimate space with a great selection of wines and bites. Loved the bolognese and the birthday flight.

The husband brought me here for a nice quiet evening out, and we had a lovely time! It's a cute little place right off North Monroe, with an extensive wine menu and a greatly knowledgeable wait staff to help you make choices if you are unsure what you'd like. The place is very modern with a nice, romantic "date night" air. On our first night we tried the basic board and the "gimme juice"option, where the sommelier will bring you a glass based on some preferences you provide for a set price while their neon "juice" sign is lit. My husband and I are both pescetarian, so we gave the apple and brie panini a try and were more than happy with the choice. Definitely give it a try, did not disappoint!

I found this place for my 21st birthday. It was so beautiful and perfect. I chose the southern cheeseboard and it was deliciously paired with the sour cherry jam and orchard pond honey. I had the moscato in the picture posted below. 100% recommend. Waitress was so sweet and kind.

I was excited to try this place out, though I only had time to stop by for a glass of wine. I'll be back to try the food soon. I signed up for the wine club and can't wait to come in for a wine tasting or class hosted by the sommeliers. Apparently all of the staff is sommelier trained! This does not seem to be a location to go for a cheap glass of wine. Instead you'll want to savoir the experience, with wines by the glass ranging from $9 to $16 and wines by the bottle priced from $45 to $375, with most being priced under $100. I'm glad they have plenty of outdoor seating, because I'd love to stop by for a socially-distanced happy hour, weather permitting. Their website has a calendar of events and details about their wine club, which was incredibly easy to sign up for. Wine club memberships start at just $35 per month for 2 bottles. Can't wait to try their selections!

Last night my sister, BIL, hubby & I finally tried Hummingbird Wine Bar. Kinda nondescript from the outside but once inside - or on the deck outside - it was light, airy & just fresh! I loved the decor! We sat outside & the evening was delightful adding to the overall impression we got from this venue. The wine list is extensive, they have a few beer choices, cocktails & Greek sodas (lemon, grapefruit & we forgot the last choice). They also offer several cheese boards, a few paninis & there is a different pasta every Friday evening according to our server, Marque (who is also a sommelier). The pasta for the evening was beet gnocchi (my BIL ordered & it was yummy), we had 1 cheese board between us & my husband got one for himself while my sister & I each ordered a panini but swapped a half to try them both (apple & Green Hill Double Cream & Chorizo /Manchego). All very good!!! Hats off to the chef! Tho I didn't need to use the bathroom, my sister thought the women's bathroom was pretty cool! I think she said they had frog and/or cricket sounds playing in there! We will be back for sure! Ask for Marque (pronounced 'mark') - he's great, too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Loved how they served wine and the whole staff was very kind and everything they recommended was amazing. If the Light is On...you can get their surprise wine and we had about three different kinds. So good! A little pricey but worth it for the experience. Beautiful outside seating area and the whole vibe was a refreshing addition to MidTown.

Amazing spot with adorable ambience, excellent wine and knowledgeable staff. But do not underestimate how delicious their food is too. The special entrees are quite special, we had lobster gnocchi last night and side salad with freshest fruit and a seriously flavorful strawberry vinaigrette. They also have rotating creative flavors of from scratch ice cream and sorbets- perfect for a summer night. Highly recommend!

This place is one of the very best restaurants I have experienced in my eastern travels. Check out…read morethe inventiveness of the menu and know that the chef delivers on each dish: beautifully presented with complex flavorings. All six dishes we got were great. If I have to name only one, it's the escargot! At first, I was nonplussed about the lack of cocktails, but got over that as soon our awesome waiter -- I think his name was Mark -- brought a tasty Japanese pale ale.

Imagine this: you decide to try out a wine bar for their charcuterie! You arrive and the storefront…read morelooks like a ABC store. "Okay, you think, maybe this is a hole in the wall." You sit down with a dear friend and order their charcuterie board. $28 dollars for a two-person meat and cheese board. You wait in anticipation for your charcuterie to arrive while sipping on a $7 dollar bottle of sparkling water (which you learn later sells online for $1-$4). After not too long (thankfully), your waiter brings you the worst charcuterie board in Tallahassee. You need a numbered list to describe how bad it is. 1. There is barely any food on the board. 5 types of cheese, 3 types of meat, two types of crackers, three fruits, and olives. Sounds like a lot, right? Nope. Everything resembles remnants of cheese, meat, olives, and fruit leftovers salvaged from the can. 2. Each cheese offering is 3-4 "elementary school pizza party" slices, where about three of the slices equated to a single slice on a regular charcuterie board. You barely get enough cheese between two people to form an opinion on the cheese's taste, let alone be able to use the cheese knife provided to you. 3. When asking about the minuscule amount of cheese (just in case there was a hiccup in the kitchen), the waiter tells you that everything is measured out by weight. Also proceeds to tell you a story that other guests have also asked why there is so little cheese as a humorous anecdote. Also tells you about the best cheeses that are not on your board. 4. You receive similar tiny amounts of meat, crackers, and fruit, including one (n=1) bruised and small sliced strawberry, eight to ten (n=8-10) grapes on a stem, and two (n=2) wafer-thin slices of apple (both of which are dipped into the olives' juices contained in the plastic black condiment cup). 5. The crackers are not homemade. There're not enough crackers for the little bit of cheese you do get. One of the two cracker types is fried and tastes a bit like old oil. 6. All meats are fatty deli-type meats. Awful. 7. One of your cheeses and one of your meats are spicy with no warning or offered substitutes. 8. Your 8-10 grapes are noticeably squishy, bruised, and old-looking. When asked about them, the waiter tells you they look that way because they are "vine-ripened Tempranillo grapes." You (as in I) have had fresh Tempranillo grapes before. These are not Tempranillo grapes--they look like red grapes from your local grocery store. TLDR: Terrible charcuterie board for ants that costs you $28. You shamefully have to pay by QR code and leave hungry. If you want a delightful charcuterie experience, visit Hummingbird Wine Bar or Bar 1903. Both places have delicious charcuterie boards with larger portions and great prices.

As I looked out the window while gathering my belongings at the end of class, I discovered The Bar at Betton. I noticed nicely dressed individuals looking like they were enjoying some cocktails, wine and brews with their pals. I immediately texted my gfs and told them that we must try it out for our next girls night out. With that said, the following Saturday evening, we did! The parking was easy to handle. As we approached The Bar at Betton, I noticed indoor and outdoor seating areas, high tops, etc. The music was lightly playing in the background while sounds of conservation between friends were heard. A great gathering spot! I liked it so far. We walked in the doors, looked for a spot at the bar to sit (to the left) and was greeted immediately, WaY to GO Bar Staff! We ordered a few drinks - I tried a specialty cocktail named, "Champs-Elyssee" - it was a great ! Then, we talked with the bartender a bit and went about enjoying our girls night out. I snapped a photo of the menu because each dish that was served to other customers looked really good. Moistened my palate and smelt good too! Before leaving, we visited the restrooms which are located outside of the building. I thought that was neat too. Clean and stocked. Always a good thing! Anywho - I am glad I got to try The Bar at Betton out. I will be back and can't wait to try out the food sometime.
