I was surprised to see that they have a large fridge selection of ready made meal-prepped food that alot of people were grabbing. The bowl was a build-your-own bowl at the counter style. My favorite ingredient was the eggplant salad--so flavorful and satisfying. The chicken kabob and gyro felt a bit dry. However overall very healthy-feeling meal and you get a hummus for the road. I visited the new Hummus Fit location, having been to others in the past. While the service is great, the portions are generous, and the space is beautifully maintained, I was really disappointed by the lack of plant-based protein options. They initially offered one when they first opened, but now there's nothing--which feels misleading for a place called Hummus Fit. For a restaurant promoting healthy eating, it's a major drawback. I'd still recommend it to those who don't mind, but it's frustrating that they no longer offer a plant-based protein option for those who want it. read more

A star above my last review of Hmmm Hummus in Holbrook. I did get there on the late side but they didn't run out of any toppings, sides that I wanted. Either great food inventory control or it was a slow Night. Ordered A bulgar rice bowl with steak gyro, double eggplant salad & Dolmades ( stuffed grape leaves) & Falafel with extra tzatziki sauce & hot red pepper hummus. Rice was very tasty & not glutinous. Dolmades (2 as a side) were a bit crunchy in texture & nothing to write home about, but the marinade was good. Falafel was as in last review crunchy outside & soft inside. Could use more spices as they were a bit bland. They were also cold. ( it was a take-away order) Eggplant salad was the star of the whole meal. Perfectly spiced & marinated for my palate without losing the eggplant flavor. Steak gyro was really just a beef gyro not a traditional flank steak meat. Hummus was creamy & fresh, but the peppers weren't hot. ( could be my taste buds) Staff was friendly, venue was very clean. Parking is plentiful. read more

This place offers SO much! They're definitely a healthy Mediterranean style or chipotle and they load up your dishes! You can get 2-3 meals out of one order. We were never at this restaurant so we had a lot of questions. The gentleman was so eager to share the types of foods, choices, seasonings it made us feel super welcomed. We tried the grilled shrimp on a rice bowl. We chose the bulgar grain and it was delish. We also had the eggplant salad and the green beans. I had the spinach feta spread as a small garnish and I loved it! Best of all was the friendly and knowledgeable staff - he seemed like the owner as he cared that we had a great experience. Wanted to try something different for dinner. It's basically a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. I enjoyed my rice bowl, and price was on point. Steak was very greasy. My husband had a steak gyro, again greasy. But a little expensive considering the portion size. Nothing worth going back for, I'd rather go to an authentic Greek restaurant. About time there's a casual place with fresh flavorful food within 15 mins of the house! Read a lot of chatter about Hummus on Facebook and decided to give it a try with hubby, who's a vegetarian. Think Chipoltle goes Mediterranean. Your choice of pita. brown rice or salad, fill it with chicken, chicken kebab, falafel, gyro meat etc., then the best part...all types of different toppings: tabbouleh, snazzy chick-peas, tomatoes and cucumber mix, feta cheese, then top it with different yogurt sauces, tahini, etc. You get a choice of hummus, although at that point I'm not sure what you do with it. Everything is super fresh. Lots of vegetarian options. Looks like most everything is homemade. Location super clean. Staff very sweet and attentive. 2 giant wraps were under $20. Located in the center next to Aldi on Jericho in Selden. Hummus needs to come to Stony brook and let to 40,000 students and hospital workers enjoy this great food too. read more

OK I stopped here to get takeout for dinner at work! I got a mixed green salad with steak Gyro chickpeas baba ghanouj and feta cheese on top! It all taste great,...the steak gyro meat very tender and tasty perfect for my taste but may be a little salty for some. I also got a free order of falafel thanks to the yelp check in app,... I found the falafel very dry and not as good as others I have tried. Also the tahini was bitter tasting which surprised me! I also got the roasted garlic hummus which was plain hummus with what looked like jarred minced garlic spooned on top of it I will def go back again! read more

I got a pita sandwich with chicken kebab, cucumbers and tomatoes, sumac onions and feta...tzaziki sauce on the side. Fiancé got a rice bowl with same chicken, green beans (get these trust me), sumac onions, lettuce and mixed olives w balsamic dressing. Portions were large, and reasonable. Super delicious. You also get a choice of hummus. We got chocolate (you need this trust me) and classic. It's a great place...brand new and sparkingly clean. Give them a try. We will def be back. read more

They handled a large lunch order of 11 but could not accommodate sides on the side due to the size of the order. Food was fresh and tasty. Everyone's order was correct. the Selden one is definitely as great as the Holbrook one. I stopped by to get lunch the other day and I was more than satisfied with the friendly service and delicious food. All the food is healthy and delicious. If you want to stay healthy and eat delicious food, this is the place you MUST go to. Went there last weekend (the one in Suffolk county Selden/Farmingville by the 7/11 and dollar store) and ordered a rice bowl with spinach leaves, feta, and beef. Ended up with severe food poisoning. My doctor thinks it was either from the spinach leaves, or them leaving products (feta etc) out too long. It was a miserable experience. I've eaten there a few times before that and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately with how sick I was (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headache etc) for over 48 hours--I just can't bring myself to eat there again anytime soon. read more

This place is absolutely one of my favorite places to get takeout from. They have plenty of options for vegans/vegetarians and it is basically like a chipotle setup where you can build your own bowl, salad, etc. but for Mediterranean food. I had written how great this place is... except, ironically, for their hummus. They're now using a different machine and it's no longer bland, it's very well seasoned. So now they truly earn the five stars. The food is excellent, from the falafels to their meats to the dolmas, and on and on. You get plenty of food, with plenty of choices. I have been a customer of Hummus since 2018 and will start with the positive: the staff are friendly, kind, and super nice... however their quality of food has drastically declined. My boyfriend and I have gotten sick countless times off of the pre packaged meals and recently my boyfriend found the hot food bar food spoiled as well. When I reached out on Instagram about my order of 10 meals with half of them spoiled, the manager was responsive and concerned, however did state that "Due to weather changes and transportation of meals this seems to happen due to the heat/ cold - and it's something we are aware of and have been working to make better - it is very unusual for it to happen this early in the season" which says to me they are aware meals are spoiling and yet continue to transport meals in an ineffective way. When they delivered to a local gym (which they no longer do...) I have walked past the truck unloading to see the trucks are not refrigerated trucks.... so anyway, the manager then gave me a generous code to purchase meals which there were only a few I could even stomach after being sick off many. I have even had visible mold on meals DAYS before the stamped expiration date - which BTW, only Selden seems to even do these dates as Holbrook doesn't even label their meals with expiration dates. I've had a meal have visible mold on it 5 days before the expiration date and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they're making up those dates at this point. All of this to say I now use a different meal prep service and have stopped purchasing food from them, however yesterday I was in a nearby store and decided to pick up their protein cookie dough as a snack. Turns out nothing coming out of this place can be trusted as I've been terribly sick since with horrible stomach pains and other signs of clear food poisoning/ingesting mold of some sort. I have waited awhile to write this review because I respect the hard work and thriving reputation this small business has created, however their clear efforts to cut corners at the expense of giving customers food poisoning is completely unacceptable- this coming from someone whose co-workers would joke I needed a sponsorship by Hummus because I was such a loyal customer and now I can not even stomach their food. read more
