This is our first time to Mykonos and calling them up to make a reservation for 3 ppl was extremely easy. From talking on the phone, I could tell this is a family-owned business and they pry on giving great customer service. Walking in, we were immediately greeted to our table. There were other patrons and I could sense that these are probably local, life-long customers. So from that point, I get a sense of camaraderie with the owners and patrons. Seated down, we were offered pita bread with tzatziki sauce along with chick pea salad. I had ordered the beef and lamb gyro with rice as my side and a small Greek salad. They gyro itself was fine, and my only comment is I wish the pita bread was softer. My son got the pastitsio which is almost kind of like lasagna. He didn't enjoy that all too much and felt it was too creamy. My wife got the Athenian tilapia with mushrooms and rice, along with a chicken lemon soup. She enjoyed her dish and commented on how temperature hot that is...which is a good thing. All in all, I would give it 3 strong stars based on this visit as I was expecting more from my gyro and the same for my son with his entree. We had dinner with my kids 2nd grade teacher (and we are friends long after she taught them) and picked Mykonos since it is near her home. It is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. There is table and booth seating. Upon seating, we were given pita bread and tzatziki sauce and chickpea salad to start our meal. We started with scordalia, a potato dip with pita bread which was delish. Our entrees were tasty and good portion size. Staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. There are exceptions to this, however Mykonos in Smithtown checks the box on the awesome scale, and has great service to match. Fresh coming from a recent Greece trip, my Mediterranean juices were flowing. I really wanted to keep that train moving. Greek food in general should offer quality, simple ingredients without the garbage additives, delicious food. And that's what I keep craving, and that's what this place delivers. Really nice menu. Great options top down. Traditional and beyond. I LOVE the fact I can get Branzino here. It's almost always my go to when I do Greek however I do gravitate towards the meats of course. Recently, I got the grilled chicken over Greek salad and a side order of hummus. As always, the food was fresh delicious and exactly what the doctor ordered! Located in a strip mall, Mykonos Greek restaurant is a small but cozy restaurant. We're greeted by the hostess and seated at a booth. The menu has lots of Greek items that I'm craving. First time here and I have plans this weekend, I'd love to try the Skordalia but garlic is not an option at this time. I tried the Halloumi cheese and falafel as a starter instead. Mykonos Greek restaurant gives plenty of pita bread to start with your meal. They're a little skimpy with the Tzatziki sauce which is like Duck sauce to Greeks, I want to be drowning in it! The falafel plate was great, it needs hummus or some Tzatziki... The gyro platter I ordered was terrific. The gyro meat was juicy and cooked perfectly. The same with the meat sampler. One thing we noticed, the Greek salads were plain? The little use of feta and no dill makes no sense. The Branzino we ordered was just that, the entire fish. It's a fish found in the Mediterranean, something that my Italian grandmother and Greek grandmother mastered. It's served with bones and all so be careful when you order. Located in large shopping center, next to New JBBQ , it was small but nicely decorated and comfortable. Real Greek hospitality was the important factor and the food was authentic. When I can get a glass of Retsina wine I know I'm in a real Greek venue! Started with delish Hummus w/Pita and requested Pepperchinis which they graciously provided. The Greek salad was nicely prepard and a good portion. Also got Spanikopita which was also delish... for mains, I was attracted to the whole Branzino...Perfectly cooked and absolutly delish!! Bon had the Lamb Chops also very good... Friends had Shish kebob with Chicken and Pork and the special Fish dish....Too full for dessert but we got the Rice Pudding...an appropriate and fine conclusion to a very good meal.! read more

Holy huge portions for lunch. While most places skimp on the amount of chicken- I would say this place gave more than one could really eat. Mykonos is a delicious Greek restaurant in Smithtown. They have both eat in and take out. The portions are huge and the food is always fresh and delicious. If you choose to eat in, the restaurant is decorated beautifully. The specials they have are great deals including soup salad and an entree. Greek salads are delicious. My only suggestion is get the dressing on the side because sometimes they put a little too much on. But that is my opinion. My favorites include moussaka and the chicken lemonda special. My husband and I recently moved to Smithtown, and we have been enjoying trying all the different restaurants. Mykonos was a great find! I think it might become a weekly spot. Even though it's located in a strip mall, it's very warm and cozy inside. The staff is wonderful, obviously family, and they are friendly and so kind. The food is amazing and authentic. Their homemade stuffed grape leaves are served warm, and their Greek meatballs are some of the best I've ever had. If you enjoy Greek food, you have to give this restaurant a visit. Great family atmosphere Greek restaurant. We had the mixed grill- not sure what it is called but ton of food for two and excellent. The octopus was the most tender I have ever had and so was the calamari. I am not a huge fan of stuffed grape leaves, but these were excellent. I will order them again. In addition, we had Greek meatballs, Greek sausage, souvlaki, gyro, fried zucchini, and the Greek salad was great. Desert was a Greek semolina pudding. It was delicious. Coffee was good. Hubbie and I were in the area and decided to stop for lunch. I suggested Greek and began to research reviews via Yelp. Mykonos popped up with favorable reviews, especially the one written by YELP FRIEND Doug W. We both ordered the Large Greek salad topped with grilled chicken for $13.49. Even though we came with an appetite there was no way we were finishing this lunch salad. Take a look at the photo, extra large bowl filled with salad , feta cheese, 2 grape leaves, olives, large grilled chicken cutlet and pita bread. I believe this was the best greek salad I've had so far and I'm thankful to be able to enjoy the second half for tomorrow's lunch. Yey!! Family owned restaurant is small, clean and decorated nicely. The staff is beyond personable and helpful. Servers were telling us what we should try in the future. Suggested I would enjoy their white fish entrees and very popular pea soup. Mykonos is ok but there are better Greek restaurants in the area. I was not a fan of their lemon soup and their gyros are smaller than other local places. Mykonos is the closest Greek place to my home but we drive further to go to other places. Would eat again if given to me but wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

Kinda disappointed. My Greek family has been supporting this restaurant for many years and we occasionally do take out. One of our favorite dishes is the salad with grilled salmon. For years, the dish used to be served with a full fish fillet on top; however, I was shocked to discover that only a "sliver" of a fish is now served. We have been long-suffering and gracious to this place over the years, despite the fact they have occasionally forgot parts of our order. The staff have also been rude on several occasions. After opening my dish tonight and discovering an entire aluminum tin of lettuce and what appeared to be a morsel of a fish, we likely will not return. read more

A coworker of mine raved about the Greek salad at Mykonos, and so a group of us decided to call ahead for lunch and pick them up on a weekday around 12pm. When we arrived, the two people at the counter had our salads packed up and ready to go, there were a decent amount of lunch goers at the tables. Everyone had given us large bills so the staff was kind enough to have us pay each salad separately to ensure everyone got their own change, thanks for your patience! The salad was HEFTY, I mean, they did not skimp out on the chicken in any way. The chicken was grilled to the right crisp and was very juicy, the feta cheese was fresh as were the tomatoes and the olives. The homemade dressing really complemented all the flavors in the salad, the lettuce was crisp and we all had a very refreshed feeling afterwards. The four of us made significant damage to each of our salads but we each did have a little extra to spare. I devoured the little I had left later that night and it was just as delicious the second time around. The banana pepper was a refreshing touch to the salad too. I look forward to ordering again soon, next time I'd love to try their souvlaki. read more

Went there yesterday with a friend, I ordered the gyro and so did they. I counted 5 measly strips of meat and barely any veg inside this super tiny gyro! My friend who asked for no veg got 8 pieces of meat. What heck!? ... This isn't one of those high priced city restaurants in Manhattan that serve you a "dinner" that's as big as a saucer for a coffee cup. Whether you want a Lamb Gyro, Chicken Gyro, Spanakopita, Fresh Greek Salad, Tzatziki, Humus dip,Fried Zucchini, etc, Mykonos does it ALL exactly right. Never had a single bad meal there, which is saying alot in 15 years of patronage. CONS: Wish it was open 24 hours/7days. :) SUMMARY: This is where you want to go for Greek food if you're anywhere in the neighborhood. A short drive from SmithHaven Mall as well. You will not find fresher ingredients. Everything is full of flavor and just perfect. I could not change a thing to improve the food here.
