Refreshing to have a new Mediterranean restaurant in the area and I highly recommend trying this place out! Hummus Republic offers a large assortment of greens, base ingredients (rice, couscous, warm garbanzo beans), sauces, and toppings that you can choose from to be served in a bowl, pita or wrap. EVERYTHING was fresh and flavorful, from the entire bowl combo down to each individually selected ingredient. There's a lot to choose from, but the menu is easy to follow and the staff are kind and patient. We chose the chicken shawarma bowl, added a mix of warm garbanzos with couscous, spinach, three dlifferent hummus- feta hummus, Kalamata olive and traditional hummus, along with a variety of toppings - dolmades, artichokes, onions, olives, cucumber. Topped it off with 2 dressings - Grandma's hot sauce (so good!) and lemon & olive oil. The combo we chose tasted great, especially the chicken and hummus. We were in Stony Creek bike riding, so this was a good opportunity to try them out as they are not that far away from the park. We went almost at the closing time, but the staff was super friendly and apologetic for longer waiting due to them being short staffed that evening. We both had bowls with couscous and warm chickpeas plus some greens, mine had falafel, and hubby got chicken shawarma and lemon chicken. We also tried different kinds of hummus and spreads. Both bowls were good and fresh. The falafel was not the best I've had, but in combination with all other items, it was good. I really enjoyed the two tahini sauces, both delicious. They were out of the shitake mushroom that I really wanted to try. Hubby said the lemon chicken was far superior than the shawarma, and he wished he had just that one. The only thing I wish is that they would give you more hummus/spreads. It's really just a tiny scoop. Also, the printed menu lists the veggies and sauces are unlimited, but I guess they changed their mind as there were labels on the glass that 5 toppings are the max and 2 sauces. That is a bummer. Another thing I've noticed is that the bowls have much more food than the wraps. They are really skimpy on the toppings for the wraps. Overall, nice and fresh food but a little expensive for what you get. The entire place was super clean. read more

The food was good and the restaurant was very clean. Unfortunately, the portions weren't very large at all on my wrap. I paid $13 and was still hungry after. And I really didn't feel welcome inside here at all. All of the staff just looked very unhappy like they did not want to be there. No one greeted me and no one told me to have a nice day. They all just sat silent the entire time I was inside the restaurant. It was pretty uncomfortable.. Everything was incredible! So fresh. I ordered the falafel bowl, lentil soup, and love that they have poppis! The staff was incredible and very well knowledgeable about ingredients.
