My husband and I were in the area tonight and figured we'd grab a quick dinner to go. I looked ahead to see what restaurants there were and some options for us. The first restaurant that popped up was Leila's Lebanese kitchen and it had a 5 star rating! I didn't bother to keep looking, and told my husband we're getting Mediterranean food! All of the reviews praise the food, as well as the service. My husband is super picky and hard to please when it comes to garlic spread on chicken shawarma sandwiches. I ordered 5 chicken shawarma pita sandwiches, a slim chicken shawarma, and tzatziki sauce with pita over the phone for a carry out and was told about 25 minutes, which is completely normal. We arrived much sooner than we anticipated, but upon arrival we were greeted with a smile, told our order was on the grill, and offered some cups for tea/water/pop which was very nice. The homemade tea was delicious! The food was ready shortly after and my husband couldn't wait to get home to try one of the shawarmas. He devoured the sandwich on the way home, praising the garlic spread! I had the slim shawarma and it's delicious! The pita is nicely toasted to give it a little texture, the chicken has great flavor and is not at all dry, the garlic spread is not a pungent garlic flavor or gritty texture, but a nice creamy spread with great flavor! The tzatziki has such great flavor, I couldn't stop eating it. We are so thrilled this place is close to home, as we've certainly found a new favorite restaurant!! read more

Ordered lamb Giro was not lamb no flavor very small portion. The lemon rice soup was just OK at best garlic sauce tasted like out of a can.

Nice cozy family restaurant tucked away. I ordered takeout and everything was well packed. Food was delicious with good portions. Chicken shawarma is my usual metric when trying a new restaurant. Chicken was grilled but still juicy, and garlic sauce was creamy. Comes with side salad and pita. Will come again to try other items. read more

Just had a late dinner at Leila's. Server was sweet and attentive but food was terrible!! My husband had the lamb gyro and a Greek salad. He said it had no flavor and doubted it was lamb. The salad was beautiful to look at but dressing, again, had no flavor and was a shade of purple not seen before in any middle eastern restaurant. I had a cup of lemon rice soup that had no lemon flavor whatsoever. I also ordered a side of stuffed grape leaves that was underwhelming as well. They were tough and undercoooked- the rice was still hard. Sad. There are so many middle eastern choices in our area they will have to do better to survive. read more

The side salad was bland, the baba ghannoj was ok but watery, and the even garlic spread was bland. And when I order a side of pita bread, I don't want an entire bag of bread that hasn't been cut or baked - I can buy a bag of huge pitas at the store. Leila's was great! I was in the mood for an original gyro and they didn't disappoint. It was so tasty, the lamb was delicious, the tzatziki sauce was on pointe. My wife had the chicken shawarma and she loved it. We also had the Lebanese salad and it was just what I had hoped it would be. We also had the hummus and it was very good. Just one guy's opinion, but truthfully, I would never go back here. My wife and I ordered the kebab combo platter. You would assume by calling it a platter it would more than enough for two people. as it turns out it was ONLY enough for one person. Spent $40.00 dollars on a meal that was extremely unsatisfying. By labeling it a platter is false advertising. There is a reason why restaurants label there food combos and platter. Combos for one individual and platter for more than one person. Hell The average person would automatically assume a platter would feed two people. First time here, in response to a coupon in the weekly newspaper. The owner is very warm and friendly. As another person mentioned, we received our drinks for free on our first visit. They have a minted iced tea that is very tasty. We really enjoyed the lentil soup and tabbouli. The chicken Shawarma entrée was very generous, and not dried out as we've had at some other restaurants. Grape leaves were nicely done, and tender. The restaurant is small, and you order at the counter. They bring the food to you, but collecting your flatware and drinks is self service. Entrées include soup or salad. If you want hummus or garlic spread, you need to purchase it separately. One odd point is that the hummus costs $4.99, while the garlic spread is five dollars. Pita is the thin rounds, not the puffy ovenfresh type. It was warm and moist, better than most who serve skinny pitas. read more

The service was great, the bread hot and fresh, and the food fabulous. I highly recommend the Awarmeh Fettah appetizer. It's a rich, chickpea based dish with tender lamb, a yogurt sauce, and crunchy toasted bread crumbs. All together it's warm, rich, and perfect by itself or with more fresh bread.
