I found this place by default because La Saj is closed on Mondays and for that I am grateful. I walked in and the chairs were on the tables it was desolate and a sign read " due to staffing shortages carry out only". Not going to lie the first thought that went through my head was " I wonder how often they go through their food, am I going to get poor quality". Then I met the guy at the register and the phone rang for carry out 2x and I knew I should give it a go. I'm happy I did. First the young man taking my order was super kind. The menu was GIANT but I kind of knew I wanted a gallaba so he pointed me in the right direction. I got one chicken gallaba meal with lentil soup. The dinner was plenty for two people - I also ate it for lunch the next day too! I loved their garlic. I used the left over on some chicken and baked it - OMG life changer - dooooo it. Terrible service. 0 integrity or customer appreciation. The owner was unbelievably rude. We had over $100 worth of food delivered, even tipped the driver generously, and they forgot the bread. We called and they said they would have someone come back and drop it off. After an hour of no one coming and not hearing from them, we call back and the owner refuses to send anyone. No call, no explanation. Just refuses. He also refuses to give any kind of credit for the inconvenience. Have you ever eaten hummus or garlic without bread? The owner was so rude. I've never been impressed with any of the Middle Eastern/Lebanese food on the east side. I've never been impressed with really any place I've tried on the east side. Some great Italian joints, the Bobcat Bonnies at Partridge Creek is the best one I've tried out of the four locations I've been to; but aside from that, nothings ever really moved me when it comes to dining out in Macomb County. That all changed when I found Sam's. Great food, great salads. Their chicken is amazing. Their prices are great and everyone who works there's very friendly. Love love LOVE this place! I read a LOT about it on a local Facebook restaurant group I follow & couldn't wait to try it out, which I finally did & it did NOT disappoint! The owner's wife was super friendly & personable. They have an extensive menu, which I always enjoy seeing at a middle eastern establishment. I got their chicken cream chop & let me just say I got FOUR meals out of it. It comes with a side salad, which is enough to feed four people. Their fattoush dressing is delish, live their rice & the chicken was seasoned just right & not dry at all. And let's not forget about the side of garlic sauce, which is my ultimate favorite! For the price, definitely worth every cent, especially considering you get more than one meal out of it. Looking forward to going back & trying something else real soon! read more

Scary place employee my husband dealt with an owner both Albert showed anger issues. Unbelievable they're bullying tactics ordered six sandwiches four were incorrect because we stated only meat, onions and sauce and two of the sandwiches. The owner insisted we needed to pay again it was our fault because we didn't say no tomatoes and no pickles OK we paid again got two more sandwiches then lost his mind because two of the beef sandwiches were supposed to be chicken after all sudden Don and my husband left for the second time the owner proceeded to call him and applied that we wanted something for free when in fact, you messed up the order and we paid for it twice read more

I have been coming here since 2018. Sadly during pandemic in 2020, me and my company had to move to Ohio, and this place was constantly mentioned between me and my coworkers because we would come here so often during the week when we were based locally. I moved back to Michigan in 2022 and this was one of the first places I visited, even though I am no longer local. I made the 45 minute drive to experience it one more time. Truthfully I wasn't sure it was still in business after pandemic, but I was happy to see they were! And not only that, but the food tasted exactly the same even after pandemic changed a lot of restaurants quality for the worst, Sam's stayed the same. Incredible. If I could give this place a 10 star rating I would. Amazing deboned chicken lunch special. Great portion sizes. Amazing rice and hummus. Their salads greens taste fresh. This was my first visit here, upon the recommendation of one of my Yelp friends. She was right, this is a nice restaurant. Okay, first off, I am not conversant in many non-American cuisines. I know the Mexican fare pretty well, but I tend to like traditional American entrees the most. I am not a sushi kind of guy (I tried it once), but I am a meat eater. Having visited foreign countries in my earlier days, I can venture into new menus without much hesitation. So here I am, in a Mediterranean restaurant and I'm not sure what to order. I ended up selecting a lunch plate with chicken and beef (although I cannot recall the name). It had traditionally prepared meat, grilled and spiced, along with grilled carrots, onions and green peppers. A garlic sauce was provided upon request and the whole meal was fantastic! The restaurant wasn't all that busy in the early afternoon. Service started out pretty well, but perhaps my server had finished her shift, because I had to flag town a kitchen staffer to get the check when it was time to go. Other than that, I found the restaurant to be cozy enough to be warm and inviting. Located back in a little strip mall on the north-west corner of 19 Mile and Garfield, from my recollection, access to their parking lot is available from Garfield, but not from 19 Mile Road. 2018-12-12. Sam's Kabob House is a local Middle Eastern restaurant offering Lebanese fare. Located in the Plaza behind Earnie's on the northwest corner of Garfield and 19 MIle Rd, there is plenty of free parking. When we arrived, there was a line at the counter, so we seated ourselves (hope they don't mind!). Shortly after, we were greeted by Nancy, our server There really is a Sam to Sam's Kabob; in fact, there are two! Today we met Sam Jr. the head chef, and his cousin Nancy who was our server. Both were very friendly and personable. Inside the place is bigger than its front acreage leads on. There is a room off on the side that encroaches behind the adjoining business. When you enter, you're greeted with murals in a brightly lit space. Seating consists of both tables and booths. As you move further inside, the supplemental dining area dims but still adorns the landscape murals. Only table seating is available here, but that's a plus. With the flexibility in seating arrangement, the supplemental dining area is sequestered enough to host a relatively large family gathering (24 people easy). I'm pretty sure the place wasn't designed this way on purpose, but as I said earlier, both Sam and Nancy are very personable and I'm sure they would accommodate if planned ahead of time. The menu is Mediterranean, with predominantly Middle Eastern dishes. Lunch specials are $ while dinner entrées run $$. On the card today, the Mixed Kafta Plate, and the Lamb Galaba, both from the lunch specials. For our sides we had the lentil soup and the Fatoush salad. Like all Middle Eastern restaurants we were provided with complementary Toum and Pita. Toum (whipped garlic spread). This is one of those dishes that is always relatively fresh as it's made with the process of emulsification. The trick here is to find that right balance of Garlic flavor while keeping the texture light, airy, and smooth. They did a very good job here. The garlic was strong enough to note its presence and was not so sharp as to bite you. Buttery smooth, one of the best I've had. 4,5 stars. Pita bread. These were definitely not fresh baked as they did not arrive piping hot. To me, fresh baked is a staple for Pita. A little disappointing, but something that can be remedied even if they don't have the oven to make their own. 2 stars. Lentil soup. This was more runny than I'm accustomed to, which resulted in much more mild flavors. More lentils would better suit my taste. 2 stars. Fatoush. Your traditional Fatoush made the right way! Complete with pita chips and without any wilted greens, it looked nice and fresh. Heavy citrus flavors, but that's expected with lemon juice as the primary ingredient in the dressing. 4 stars. Beef Kafta. The kaftas were a little in the small side, but appropriate given it's a lunch portion with a reduced price. The meat was well grilled and juicy. Parsley flavours are light, but still no slouch overall. 4,5 stars. Chicken Kafta. So I have to confess that I'm usually not a fan of chicken Kafta. In fact, I wasn't even going to order the mixed plate, but did so all for the sake of this review. But I'm glad I did. While his kafta wasn't as juicy as the beef, it was still juicy and moist. The flavor and consistency is the best I've had. Great job here! 5 stars. Lamb Galaba. Galaba is mixed vegetables sautéed. Both vegetables and proteins were strips here. The vegetables were not over cooked and the lamb was not gamey. A little heavy on the salt and light on the protein to vegetable ratio. 2,5 stars. Rice. I have yet to find a place that uses butter in for this dish, and Sam's Kabob is no different offering a "healthier" starch. They also used plain long grain rice over that of the more flavorful and aromatic Basmati long grain which I'm accustomed to. 2 stars. Overall, Sam's Kabob has its highs and lows for my taste in Middle Eastern foods. Like all reviews, they're partial to the small sample of the entire menu. The Galaba, pita, and Lentil Soup may not have shone brightly for my tastes, but the Fatoush, the Toum, and the Kafta did. Enough so that I would return, especially since I still have yet to try the Kabobs, which I will definitely do when I come for dinner. Beyond the food, I'm a fan. The atmosphere is family casual and the service is another example of the comforts of home. With good food and good people you can't go wrong. 3,5 stars for the food rounded up to 4 stars because of the staff and atmosphere. We order carry out from here a few times a month we love the food and they have nice portions. The deboned chicken special is our favorite, it comes with chicken, rice, hummus, and a soup or salad. Another favorite is the chick shawarma sandwich and the garlic sauce is the best, we usually order extra! I stopped in for lunch, the restaurant is buried in a strip mall that has four other restaurants located there. I went in and sat in a booth, the inside is much larger than one would think. I ordered a chicken shawarma and a side of hummus. I wouldn't have ordered the hummus had I known that they also serve, for a lack of better term, garlic paste. What I like to call garlic paste is the single greatest thing in middle eastern cuisine. Now grant it, if you are going to kiss someone or going to the dentist later, garlic paste is not a good idea but this stuff is out of this world. I got a little side tracked. The chicken shawarma and hummus were both really good. The cost for two sandwiches and hummus came to $13. Awesome price and I have a new place to eat. read more

Best shawarma in the area. You get a large portion of food for a fair price and it is delicious. In my opinion it is the best around. The chicken and beef shawarma are both tender and seasoned perfectly. Neither meat was dry. My chicken shawarma sandwich was really good too.
