    Three 3 Cups Chicken
    Tpl K.

We came right when the restaurant opened at 11am and were the first customers, but sadly, the food was a big letdown. The Three Cup Chicken was overly sweet, starchy, and had a strange color--honestly, it tasted worse than what we cook at home. The Pork Chop was so dry that even the kids didn't want to eat it. The Braised Pork had barely any flavor, and the portion was tiny--definitely not enough to go with a full bowl of rice. The Beef Noodles were disappointing too--the beef wasn't tender at all. The only dish we actually liked was the Salt and Pepper Chicken, which was nicely seasoned and crispy. Portions across the board were small, and for the price, it just wasn't worth it. Really disappointed overall--we won't be returning.

I love coming here so much. I was here last week and came back again this week with a different friend! When I enjoy the food, I definitely recommend it by taking as many friends as I can to it! Lol! Had the standard Honey walnut shrimp as I always do! I don't think I've ever eaten at this restaurant and not ordered this! But this time I got the Chef special pork belly with rice and loved it! I can't wait to try more of their offerings!

The food here is excellent and the people are very nice! We got calamari which was perfectly crispy and super flavorful. We got some wonton dish also as an appetizer that came with a delicious sauce that I put on everything throughout the meal. I had Singapore noodles for the first time as well and I didn't expect to like it as much as I did! And we also got sichuan lamb which was also super flavorful. Could've been spicier though in my opinion. Great place to come with lots of people! The server gave us scallion pancakes for free at the end which was really nice. Very affordable also for the amount of food you get!

Not the same food or experience I loved before - they definitely changed ownership. I came for lunch - they don't have lunch specials anymore. I could hear the hostess sneezing and coughing ... maybe subconsciously that affected my appetite. Very few customers. Ambience missing the upscale Taiwanese feel ... BASIL CHICKEN - $16.95 The server recommended this dish and it was pricey for something that tasted so plain. No love in the food. Dish was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't spicy at all - I told our server "medium spicy" but I think she misheard as "a little spicy"?? The dish had bell peppers, onions, basil, and chicken. The complimentary side of pickles was good though! Sorry I won't be back - too many other great options to choose from.

This place was alright - felt it was overhyped for me. Not run by Taiwanese folks and the minced pork rice (should be fattier & saucier) and beef noodle soup (it had northern style noodles) was alright. Good but not Taiwanese style my husband says. We also got the eggplant & kung pao chicken so we could have leftovers for later. Eggplant was pretty good - liked that there was some protein in there and tasty sauce. Kung pao was a bit greasy. I liked that that each of these dishes came with rice! Most places charge for rice these days. Can't speak to ambiance since we got take out. Service wise - food was ready when they said it'd be!

I wanted some authentic Chinese traditional food and this place didn't disappoint. The service was fast and waiter was really nice and attentive. It was a calm environment and I'll definitely be back.

This is a hidden gem if you're looking for a family owned restaurant where the staff remembers your order and name when you visit. The food is always fresh and the staff is super friendly! My go to has been the fried rice which is authentic and not that bland rice with mixed frozen veggies that you usually find at many restaurants. My family also enjoyed the beef with mixed vegetables, shrimp dishes, and the egg rolls. The only dish I didn't love was the sesame chicken because the batter seemed too hard. The portions here are large that can fill a football player's appetite and will give a standard person two good meals. Don't miss out if you want great food that won't have your pockets hurting when the check comes lol.

Stir Fried String Beans with Pork, Scallion Pancakes, and Spicy Chicken Sichuan Style
    Michelle H.

La Mei Zi is tucked away in the corner of Asian Square on Buford Highway, but I would definitely recommend not skipping out on this place! The servers were fairly attentive as well. They give you a cucumber salad to start off with and it was super delicious. I probably could have eaten several plates of it on my own. My friends and I ordered the Scallion Pancakes, Stir Fried String Beans with Pork, and Spicy Chicken Sichuan Style. The Scallion Pancakes were very thin, however, they were still good. I have also been trying to find a good string bean dish at different Asian restaurants in Atlanta and I think this restaurant has a really nice recipe for them! Lastly, while the Spicy Chicken Sichuan Style was delicious, I did not think it was spicy at all so I would ask for a higher spice level next time.

    Singapore noodles
    Yaminah M.

Let me tell you -- La Mei Zi absolutely understood the assignment. I had the Singapore noodles, and babyyyy... the way they were dusted with that curry-flavored seasoning? A whole revelation. Each bite was packed with flavor. And paired with a refreshing chrysanthemum tea? Chef's kiss. The food was delicious, the service was perfect -- attentive, kind, and efficient -- and when the check came? I had to blink twice. Incredible food at a price that made me want to order extra just because. 100 out of 100 -- highly recommend. Run, don't walk.

MRS says ...The Taiwanese salt and pepper basil chicken is always a crowd-pleaser. Though it's listed as an appetizer, we can never resist ordering at least two--plus an extra to take home. It's just that good! Beyond that, we also love their Three Cups Chicken, Celery and Bean Curd with Chicken, and Sichuan Spicy Chicken--which has a similar crispy, flavorful bite to the Taiwanese basil chicken but with an extra kick of heat. No matter what we order, the vegetables on the menu never disappoint. Every dish we've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. One visit is all it takes for the staff to remember you the next time you return, adding a warm and welcoming touch to the dining experience. If you're visiting on a chilly day, try to sit away from the entrance. Each time the door opens, a blast of cold air rushes in, and it can be quite the surprise!

Tried about ten different dishes. The lamb was my favorite by far but everything was good. The bill was surprisingly small.

Do they have a health rating? I like a clean food place!

I hear you!! This place is spotless. Can't remember if I looked at the rating but you will not be disappointed with the cleanliness or with the food.

    Vegan menu for this place?

    Not vegan

    Is there any highchair?

    Yes!

Do they still have the weekend lunch buffet?

They are not currently offering the weekend lunch buffet.

Are there Vegan options at this restaurant?

    Do you do to go?

Yes, I often order to go. Never had issues with my Uber eats orders and they have a very efficient and sanitary pick up station inside the restaurant.

Does this restaurant have outdoor seating? It is listed in the services offer, however I don't see anybody mention it or see any pictures.

i don't think so. we went today and there wasn't any, but it's december.

Do they charge for extra of rice if order like 2-3 entrees?

No. They will give you rice if you need it. They are super nice.

Do they have Halal menu? It came out on my halal food search on google. But I see pork being served here . Can somebody confirm?

They definitely serve pork. However, there are many chicken, seafood, veggie, etc. dishes on the menu.

Is the hot and sour soup vegetarian?

I personally don't know the answer however the staff has always been extremely courteous and professional. I encourage you to ask them and I'm sure they'll let you know.

    What are there buffet hours?

Sat-Sun, 11-3ish. Best to arrive before 12 or after 1.

    Do you have duck?

Me? No, I'm anatidaephobic. But I've seen duck on the menu here before. Yep... they're total duck smokers here.

Is the buffet only on Sunday?

Saturday and Sunday, from 11 until around 3.

Is there a secret menu for authentic Chinese food there that you don't serve to customers unless asked for?

I've never seen a physical separate menu, but if what I want isn't on the menu I just ask and they usually oblige.

Admittedly this location is in need of a DEEP clean and a major facelift. It's like stepping into a vintage time capsule. But hey, at least there's yummy food inside. Considering that, the prices do not really match the ambience at all in my opinion. However it seems they might have a big staff to support, especially those who make their dumplings and noodles from scratch. I'll pay a lil extra at a takeout spot for the food quality because it's certainly there. The staff has been pleasant enough, which is a nice plus. The pork buns are a great mouthful (I prefer steamed). Same for the soup dumplings. Unmatched in the texture of the dough. I've tried their hand-pulled noodles in a soup as well as a stir-fry and they certainly held their own. The noodle consistency is incredibly dreamy, so much so it has become a craving in my household. I don't like the beef they use as it can be a bit dry but the flavor is really nice. Nothing has been salty so far and the flavor profile is always robust. Numbing spice on deck. Again, the food is a hit. Where this place falls short is appearance and service. It just feels stuck in another century, and not in an endearing way. I ate here once, saw the condition of the restaurant and the health score, and settled on the blissful ignorance of takeout from thereon. The parking lot is rough and an eyesore. But honestly, it seems people overlook these things for the food. "People" being me....

When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket -- only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te'amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. Honestly, for around $40 per person, it felt like a very good value. My parents both thought it was worth the price. We left full and satisfied, and the service was always attentive whenever we needed something. Drinks: Mai Tai was actually pretty good, and this is coming from someone that typically sticks with a beer. Sapporo is available on draft! We had it changed to a clean one, but when we were handed the tablet to order, this was also covered in grease/oil. The bathrooms and sauce bar were clean, but at the table I was not satisfied. The server herself was very nice and explained the AYCE experience well. Ambiance: quiet music in the background, plenty of tables that could sit 4, 6, and 8.

Best dishes (the reasons to come) 1) Salt and pepper squid This one was excellent. Fried well, not greasy heavy, topped with plenty of fried garlic, plus cilantro and fresh cabbage to balance the richness. Super satisfying and well executed. 2) Dried chow fun with beef Also a standout. Great texture and temperature, well seasoned, and the ingredients felt evenly distributed instead of clumped or uneven. This dish was done right. 3) Eggplant in a small pot Served in a small pot that keeps it warm for a long time, which makes a big difference. There's a lot of sauce, but you can reduce how salty it tastes by how you scoop and serve it. Comforting and flavorful. If you ordered just these three, you'd already have a great meal. Other dishes (good, not amazing) Coconut shrimp The shrimp itself was cooked well, and I appreciated the broccoli on the side to balance the heaviness. The issue was the sauce: way too much. It got soggy fast and leaned too sweet and too salty. Next time, I'd ask for the sauce on the side so you can control it. We also tried a vegetable dish and a fish dish. Both were decent, but not particularly memorable. Tea They serve tea if you order it. The chrysanthemum tea was pretty good, and I liked that it was loose leaf. Atmosphere and service We went around 2:30 to 3:00 pm, so it wasn't crowded. The vibe felt very local and family friendly. It's an older building, but clean enough and inviting. Service was great, and it seemed even smoother if you have someone in your group who can speak Cantonese. Would I return? Yes. I'd come back, especially for the salt and pepper squid, dried chow fun with beef, and the eggplant pot.

If I ever return, I'll know to do better than expect the correct order and check everything before heading out. The crab rangoon was still flavorful but whatever dough they wrapped it with this time was so freaking tough that it cut the top of my mouth. My jaw should not get a workout from eating crab rangoon of all things. Another disappointment in the bag. But the beef entree we ordered was good, yet overshadowed by the other letdowns of the night's visit given that I can't really remember what exactly we ate. I'm going to remove another star for the unhygienic practices I witnessed that I was perhaps blissfully ignorant of my last time visiting. It's hard to look past a server comfortably coughing into their hand and proceeding to handle multiple patrons' plates and orders without as much of a squirt of sanitizer. I will say though they are quite dedicated to the customer. As I was sitting in the parking lot waiting 10-15min for my order to finish, someone clearly forgot their food and the same hacking server ran out to give it to them. Oh wait! Turns out that was actually our food being jostled around as he ran through the parking lot searching for the owner. I was watching the time and planned on returning but maybe I wasn't moving fast enough for this guy lol. He did all that just for the order to be wrong.... Damn bro. I prayed he didn't box the food. I guess we didn't come on a good day? I really don't know what happened but the entire experience was off. Based on the night's events, I don't know if I'll return. No pictures this time... Yes, the juices might wind-up on your face cuz you going down-down on it good like that, but who doesn't bask in wet, juicy glory like that, just wipe the collateral-damage off. Jjambong had the haemul (seafood) overflowing like the organ between my loins, but damn - what a bounty of seafood. Squid was also sitting up top like the jjambong bowls back in Korea. Broth was good, noodles were green - brb, throwing my glasses at the wall out of pure joy and disbelief at how damn good it was. Tangsuyuk? oh my word - just the right amount of crisp. Not so damn deep-fried like other places to the point of when you put it in your mouth, it scratches the skin off the roof of your mouth and cheek-walls like a blue-dolphin does (iiykyk). Just the perfect ratio of frying AND pork - I just rabidly shoved the whole piece in to my mouth, so damn good. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being top, I rate this place a 15, definitely coming back here, and you should too. Jinjja!

Being able to see into the kitchen while the food was being prepared added a sense of trust and transparency, which I appreciated. The service was very good. The staff checked on us regularly and brought what we needed quickly. Everyone was friendly and attentive. As for the food, I usually tend to be fairly generous in my ratings, but on the day I visited, the dishes were noticeably salty. The seafood noodle soup, jajangmyeon, and fried rice were all saltier than expected. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but this part was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still decent, and I hope the seasoning is more balanced on my next visit.

Prices have increased since my last visit (of course), but they're still quite reasonable. The service is exceptional! We always enjoy chatting with Jojo and Chloe when we're there. These two ladies are incredibly friendly and helpful. My parents visit so frequently that Jojo already knows their orders without them having to say a word lol. You never have to wait long; our orders come out one dish after another very quickly. Our go to orders: * Chow Quay Teow * Fish Fillet * Kari Fish Fillet * Salt & Pepper Squid * Hainanese Chicken + Chicken Rice!! * Salt & Pepper Tofu * Stir Fried Okra in Garlic TBH you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend.

We decided to try Mamak after our 1st option was BOOKED and busy for Cinco ... EXCELLENT choice. Since it was both our first time, we ordered an assortment of items including the puffs, spring rolls, egg noodles, roti and our entrees. My tofu and veggie dish was flavorful with a hint of spice. My friend ordered the glass noodles with chicken and shrimp. Great service. Absolutely locally patronized - always a good sign - and a range of options. Loved this for my first time having Malaysian food !

While you place your order at a kiosk, they're available to help and answer any questions. I ordered a noodle dish, and it was fantastic. The beef was incredibly tender--almost melt-in-your-mouth tender. It had a crispy exterior while remaining moist inside. The noodles had a great texture, and the sauce was very flavorful. I especially enjoyed the vegetables mixed in, including the bok choy, which was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. They also had a hot sauce available, though the container looked a bit dirty and could've used a wipe-down. Out of an abundance of caution, I only tried a small amount. Still, the dish overall was excellent, and I'd definitely return to try more items.

I've seen it a few times when visiting ICE NY, and was always curious to try. Well my hubby and I finally figured today would be the day. The restaurant is very intimate and inviting. The staff and manager were very kind and welcoming. You order and pay for your food at a digital kiosk in the front. I like this because it allows you to view pictures of menu items while ordering. We ordered steamed pork and chive dumplings to share, Thai fried rice with ham, and a beef noodle dish (I can't remember the name). Everything was very delicious and extremely affordable! I think we paid approx $40 including taxes and tip. This is a perfect place to grab a quick bite, then go next door for dessert. We'll definitely be back.
