I've dined at Sichuan House for many years. Their food is very true to Sichuan cuisine and reflects great Chinese food in general. I've dined there with Mainland Chinese and they all have enjoyed every dish we've tried. Portions are large so order accordingly and share with the table in true Chinese style! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can and will guide you to specific menu items if you describe what you're in a mood for or if there's a particular taste you desire. Here's the low down: arguably the best Chinese food around town, especially the Hong Kong style lobster. I've tried a variety of dishes over the years and they've been able to maintain great cooking consistency. Their dining room service used to be high-touch. They lost a couple older, but much more service oriented wait staffers over the years. Whenever you had lobster before, they would offer a new plate in exchange of your existing plate filled with discarded shells. Today, they couldn't care less. But, the biggest detraction now is that they have significantly reduced their portion sizing. It's been a short few months since I've dined in, but I was there this week and ordered a variety of dishes and was hugely DISAPPOINTED that most dishes were HALF-SIZED compared to last year. IT WAS SHOCKING. The menu prices have always been premium pricing but it's even more so today when shrinkflation showed up this past week. It was really a let down because they have raised prices over the years but at least kept the sizing fairly consistent. Decent Chinese food in the area - I personally am not big on Sichuan style cuisine, but it was still good and not overly spicy. Most of the dishes had good flavor but were not quite the flavor profile that I prefer for each dish. I was really excited about the Mapo Tofu, but it wasn't quite to my liking, though everyone else liked it! I think my flavor preferences are just a little different than what the restaurant serves. Their green beans were good, though a little wilty, but comparable flavor to what I like Service was good in the beginning as we seemed to be greeted and placed our order with the manager/chef. But the employee we flagged down in the end to ask for to-go boxes seemed a bit unaware of our needs (ex. giving us a small styrofoam box for a soupy/saucy dish as opposed to a plastic container). My husband and I love spicy Sichuan food and this has been on our list for a while so glad we finally had time to try this out! Because it was our first time, we over ordered (lol) and everything we got was red which clearly tells you that we like it spicy. Master Zhong's dumplings ($10.99): spicy pork dumplings with minced garlic and a sweet house sauce. Personally I thought that the dumpling wrapping ratio to meat was way too much. They're bite sized and I was searching for the meat with each bite. The sauce wasn't spicy - it's a mix of sweet and savory! Sichuan spicy chicken ($20.99): fried pieces of chicken with red peppers and numbing schezuan peppers. This is one of our favorites whenever we go to a Sichuan place and this place didn't disappoint! Chili boiled tilapia ($28.99): you can get this with either fish or another protein like beef. We opted for tilapia since we had a meat dish already. I'm used to this being less of a watery/soup like consistency but it was pretty nice to have it poured over rice to eat because it was good! The tilapia was okay, I'm not sure if it was the way to it was cut and the pieces used to make this but I think I would have gotten the beef instead. The nappa cabbage in this soaked up all the wonderful spicy flavors and really made this dish great. Mapo tofu ($16.99): came with some ground meat. Saltier than I thought it would be and not super spicy! Overall, I would get the Sichuan spicy chicken and probably opt for the chili boiled beef next time over the fish. read more

Went on Saturday night for dinner. Restaurant was busy but not full. We were seated immediately. We ordered soup, a Mapo tofu and eggplant with garlic entrees. Soup came right away, in a few minutes, rice and tofu were on the table, no sight of eggplant. I started to eat my meal, and almost finished and that's when we decided to go ask for the 2nd entree. The lady on the counter who had also seated us rudely said that she was busy. When we asked for the missing food, she checked the order and went to the kitchen and a few minutes later, it arrives. As far as food is concerned, it's top notch. Service is where this place tanks. The rudeness of the woman when we went to ask for food was unnecessary. When the people brought out food - soup, both entrees, they just put it on the table, no words, no smile. No one came to check on us - which is why we had to go to the counter, no one came for me to ask for chilli oil, no one came to refill the water. We had to go get our own take out containers. And I am not sure, but I think the bill contained tip already added - we went to the counter to pay so not sure. So we ended up giving double tip for bad service. Came here for dinner with 4 and got seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday night. Our waiter greeted us nicely but service throughout the meal was a little inconsistent. We didn't receive enough tea cups with our order and or spoons when we got mapo tofu. But per request, they brought out spoons. They forgot the extra tea cup. Food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. The zhongs dumplings and dan Dan noodles were enjoyable. We all enjoyed the dumplings which were about 11. The Dan Dan noodles are 7 bucks for a small bowl and good for 2 people to share as a little appetizer. The sauce is at the bottom and needs good mixing. The noodles were chewy and the sauce had this peanut taste to it with the meat. The mapo tofu (20) was pretty good and a little spicy. Great for sharing. We had an odd experience with the crispy grass fish (23). It was not crispy but very cartilaginous. We were all confused and it was not what we expected with the word crispy. The chef later came at the end of the meal to explain how it was cooked. The word crispy wasn't right for it in the way that we think chips are crispy. This is more of a cartilaginous texture even though it's fish. It was not to our liking but the other things we tried were good. read more

Great authentic Sichuan food, attested by a friend from Sichuan. I came for the duck special with a few friends and wow, very delicious. I heard it's only offered at special times though; it's a LOT of duck but would definitely recommend getting it. Because there was so much duck, i didn't try too many other dishes. Dan Dan noodles were good, Mongolian beef was good, would love to come back and try some other dishes too. Of the three major Sichuan places that are in this area, Sichuan House is the best. Overall, in Metro Atlanta, it's upper tier, but I don't consider it the best of the best. The biggest distinguishing element of Sichuan House is the service. You frankly shouldn't expect crazy good service at authentic Chinese restaurants. That said, the older gentleman, mentioned in other reviews, gives impeccable service. He's incredibly charismatic and makes you feel excited for the food. He also is 100% honest and straightforward. When we ordered our beloved 五更肠旺, he mentioned that he doesn't think they do the best version of that dish. He recommended a few alternatives. We elected to switch it out for the dry hotpot version of the dish, and it was incredible. The cumin lamb and 夫妻肺片 were also great. Sichuan House has a tendency to be overly greasy at times, but this time, the food was perfect. The server assistant worked just as hard as the servers, and we were always well-cared for. He helped box up our food, and he even ran our check. You know the biggest distinguisher? Rice is still included for free, and you can get more rice for no extra charge. If you're in this area, Sichuan House is significantly better than Great Sichuan or Masterpiece. read more

I ordered a beef noodle soup to go, and enjoyed the meal. The only thing was they use ramen like noodles which was a first, and it wasn't really positive. There are endless variations of beef noodle soup, so I get it, but I didn't think the noodles fit what I was looking for. The soup and beef were all excellent. I did see that they specialize in lobster, and I saw someone ordering it and asked him about it, and he says he loves it and gets it regularly. Best Sichuan food I've ever had, located at this restaurant! My friends and I were seated in the corner with the largest table and were served plate after plate of amazing Chinese food. You have to go family style here as you have to try everything! We got so many different kinds of food and each had its own unique flavor. We ordered 川贝凉粉Sichuan hot and cold Mung bean noodle，清蒸活鱼steamed live ginger and scallion fish（这个超级推荐！真的很好吃很正宗）and 钟水饺 (spicy master zhong's dumpling). The server was also extremely sweet 10/10. This place is awesome. It's tucked away at the back of the target complex across from Whole Foods. We went in during the COVID pandemic so we were the only ones dining in but take out orders was busy. The food is so authentic and the Sichuan chicken is a must. It's seriously spicy and the peppercorns make a dance party in your mouth with the numbing sensation. We loved the dan dan noodles too. We definitely over ordered as the quantities are large. This will def be a repeat for us and might become our new takeout spot even tho it's 15mim away from us. read more

I've never been into super authentic Chinese food. But my husband is, so here goes. We ordered ALOT of dishes, that are new to me. The Chefs here, makes everything not just "good to go" it's GREAT. We're talking super tender beef short ribs, perfectly seasoned. A Spicy Bamboo Tripe, which was AMAZING. The beef tendon dish was superb. Their menu is EXTENSIVE. But, ask questions.
