The woman that owns/runs this place is so sweet and the food is delicious! I get lunch here about once a week and it's always hot and tasty!

I had it many years ago and thought it pretty bad back then. My husband wanted to try it, so we had it the other night. It was so bad that I threw most of my dinner away. We dined in and the service was quick. Maybe we're just used to better Chinese food a county or two over but this was quite possibly the worst I've had in a long time. I ordered the Szechuan Shrimp and Chicken. My husband had the Kung Pao Chicken. We both got Wonton Soup, as well. The soup was passable. The broth was bland and the wonton dumpling was thick, while the filling small. The pork filling was heavy on the soy sauce and sugar. The strong taste of ketchup is what stood out in both of our main dishes. Especially mine. Like soy sauce, ketchup and sugar had been mixed together. And while I understand that the broccoli and some other veggies are blanched earlier and then reheated in the stir fry - our veggies were ice cold. Literally so cold that they were cooling off our steaming entrees. It made the food cold quickly. Between the off putting ketchup taste and the food turning cold from the cold veggies - I ended up throwing out most of my food. I won't be returning.

The gentleman asked if we had reservations. We did not. He simply said, "Then we'll have three more guests for the evening" or something along those lines. He was very kind. Before our friend arrived, a woman stopped by to welcome us. Top notch service so far! The ambiance is beautiful. The lighted tree and decor behind us was a lot, but it felt tasteful. Jack, our server, stopped by to get us water. When our friend arrived we had a lot to talk about. Jack stopped by several times and was very chill about us taking our time. He said he didn't mind if we still weren't ready and he'd return to check on us as often as necessary. Again, kindness and patience abound at Oriental Wok. The Ma La Dumplings were absolutely delicious. The filling was delicious and the spice level, which we knew would be spicy, was perfect. Truly a wonderful bite. I had Five-Spice Tofu. The tofu was crispy as advertised and the greens were in a very light and delectable sauce. Green onions were sprinkled with the greens. I feel sometimes greens like these are an afterthought at many restaurants. At Oriental Wok they were as much a star as the crispy tofu. Mark had Orange Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. He mentioned the orange flavor was perfect. Either Jack asked if we wanted dessert and I missed it or he didn't ask. Our friend thought maybe he did and she said no, but she couldn't be sure. I just remember him stopping by to ask if we needed boxes. Anyway, next thing I knew we had our checks. I really wanted dessert, but I took it as a sign it was time for us to wrap up. I'm absolutely certain he would have been more than happy to bring us some dessert and update our checks, so going without was on me and that's cool. I think it's safe to say we will be back!

Lunch is around $8.85 for an entree, fried or white rice and soup. Add $1 more if you want to swap for a salad or an egg roll. I wouldn't do the salad but you didn't need to be told that did you? Come on, this is a Chinese restaurant... don't get a salad! Mom loves the fried crunchy noodles on every table. You will find yourself aimlessly munching them. We got an order of the crab rangoon and that was the best thing we had for certain. My Hunan Shrimp lunch was pretty good. A nice big portion with a lot of steamed rice. I did get the egg roll, which is what you expect from a Northern Kentucky Chinese place. I wanted Hong Kong Chicken - that regional favorite - but you can't get that as a lunch special. They should re-think that. Mom had the BBQ Boneless Spare ribs and, yeah, you shouldn't do that. It looked like a big mess, wasn't easy to eat and she didn't care for it at all. I didn't try it because it didn't look like something I would enjoy. This one is a skip. Service is fast and efficient. They don't mess around here. It's a cheap lunch option and my family also likes it for takeout dinner. Worth a stop but set your expectations.

As always, it was beautiful and clean, with some striking decorations on the wall. And our waitresses were friendly and timely the whole evening. But it was the food that was a new revelation for me. A friend ordered balimaki, which I've never tried before, and it turned out to be a flavorful marinated meat on a skewer, dramatically presented. And I absolutely loved my entree -- the May-Thai shrimp in coconut sauce -- the flavors were complex, the veggies were freshly cut, & the spice level was perfect. In fact all the meals I tasted were made-from-scratch, authentic, and expertly made.

I am a super basic person lol so I ordered my favorite, beef pad Thai. I've noticed that the pad Thai here in Ohio, the noodles tend to be cut shorter than what I'm used to in Southern California. I do wonder if it's kind of a Thai regional type of thing. Anyways I ordered their beef pad Thai and their noodles were actually long! Finally! I've been to four other Thai places and all their noodles were cut short. The beef pad tie here was really good, it had a really good smokey flavor - and it was quite saucy which I love. I will be definitely ordering this again. My husband had the chicken penang curry and he said that the Penang curry was actually very good. They gave a decent amount of protein, but he did wish that they had more veggies. It only had broccoli. He was kind of looking for a broccoli, bell pepper, onions, etc. I also ordered a side of beef fried rice for my little one and omg, their fried rice it's actually very good. I am a little bit snobby when it comes to fried rice and not all restaurants can make it really well, but this place definitely did! It had that fried taste that you look for in actual real fried rice. The beef was tender, the flavors were good, it was just good overall. Next time I think I'll probably come here physically versus ordering it because I bet the food is even better when it's not sitting for a while.. AKA delivery lol.
