This is my favorite local Chinese restaurant. The food is always fresh and hot, and the hibachi bar is awesome. The restaurant is clean. Staff is very friendly, too!! You can tell the owner cares about his customers. Not understanding all the negative reviews, though. Every time I'm here they're constantly refilling the bar? All the complains about this place being a rip-off are absolutely NOT true. They charge by the pound, but every time my boyfriend and I come here we fill our boxes to the brim! And sometimes get extra! We rarely spend over $25 for the two of us, and that includes drinks! read more

It is not all you can eat and the food selection is very limited. You get a styrofoam container put your food in and then pay by the weight. You are given 1 plastic fork and 2 small napkins in a paper bag. No sauces or napkins on the table. When you're done you clear your own table. Drinks are by the can. Every time we go to Maysville we notice the empty parking lot at China Garden. It seems since they discontinued the all you can eat buffet the restaurant has been a ghost town. The "Best Oriental Restaurant" award that they boast about receiving is so misleading and I've noticed that they haven't received anything in the past couple of years and I can see why. The dine in buffet that you pay by the pound is a joke. Who thought of that ridiculous way to make a buck is an idiot. Do your town and business a favor and bring back the all you can eat buffet for one price and you might receive more of the rewards that you boast about continuously. Even if you're starving, don't eat here. Pay by the lb and they serve old food and don't refill pans until they're empty forcing you to buy the old food. Pretty bad when the noodles are the best part of the meal. read more

Worst Chinese restaurant in a hundred miles. No longer is a buffet. It is now a to go restaurant that charges $6.19 a pound. That is insane. Food is cold. Two people who get no drinks and just one Styrofoam container each will cost you over $30. Just nuts. Most expensive Chinese restaurant in the country and by far the worst quality. I was told that it would be risky to dine here but I had a great experience! They weren't out of any food and everything was fresh. My stepbrother told me that it had been remodeled from when he'd last visited (about 1 year ago) and I thought that the chandeliers and fountain with Koi was a nice touch. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. I recommend to anyone that hasn't visited in a couple months to definitely visit again! $10 per person on a Wednesday night. Drinks besides water are $1.50. The restuarant is always clean whenever I arrive. The interior is beautiful, plenty of Chinese artwork and sculptures. There are photos of what I assume to be the owner's children/grandchilden on the walls which I feel adds a family-owned touch to the atmosphere. The service is always friendly and attentive, I feel that they do a good job meeting my needs. The buffet food is usually good to great. As of 2/25/2022 this is no longer an all-you-can-eat buffet. You go through and fill your plate, then they weigh it and you pay then. If you want more, you have to go through again and weigh, then pay. The first time I called about it, a waitress said it was because they were having trouble getting supplies. My wife and I have eaten at this Chinese restaurant a few times and each time we've had a great experience! the food is always hot and taste great, and the prices are good as well! every time you walk into this restaurant it feels like it's secluded from the outside world. it almost feels like you're walking into an actual restaurant in China, well about as close as you could get to one in Maysville. haha! The atmosphere and the scenery and the music are all on point and the waitresses and staff are very friendly. above the buffet tables are labels that have the name of each food written in Chinese and alongside of the label are English translations so you always know what you're eating. Also keep in mind whenever you carry out food you have to pay more, they always weigh on a scale when you get ready to pay your bill. so the more that you cram into your a take out Box the more you are going to have to pay but it's well worth it! over all I would recommend this restaurant to anyone ready to get their feast on! it's a great place to stuff your face!! read more

China Garden is a real gem in Maysville because it is rare to see such high quality food for the buffet. After being a regular for years (before they moved to this new location), I ordered the catering service for a reception of the performing arts event at work. The rave reviews from the guests and my peers were overwhelming! :) Initially, I was not sure the turnout for the night, so I ordered only for 50 people. They were so experienced with catering that they actually brought enough food to feed 100 people! I really appreciate what they did because by the end of the event, the entire table had nothing but empty trays!! Their experience and the detail-oriented approach are the main reasons that I highly recommend this restaurant for occasional dinning and corporate event. read more

I'm a huge lover of Chinese food, but this was mediocre at best. The food was dried out and Christie, and select essential flavor. Even though they had a fairly good variety, it was anything but fresh. Our waitress only visited us once to clear a plate, but never interacted with us. Buffet doesn't have General Tso's -- not sure you can be classified as a Chinese buffet without it. The buzzer for the hibachi cook must be broke since it took 20 mins for him to come out and cook it. Lo Mein was so over cooked it should be called Lo Mush. Horrible! I'm far from picky, but I couldn't eat more than a mouthful or two. Tasted awful. Another woman complained to the manager about the food being old and spoiled. I didn't say anything, I just decided not to go there again. BUT the manager refused to accept my gift card, so I told him he shouldn't even charge me because the food was inedible. BY FAR THE MOST RUDE AND HORRIBLE SERVICE EVER!!!! Waited patiently for them to refill items on the bar and we were IGNORED! Asked several times and never did get my food. Manager got in my face and yelled at me for not wanting to pay for this TERRIBLE SERVICE and then had the nerve to try to charge for the items that weren't available which I doubt they ever cooked.
