Being new to the area, we have been exploring different restaurants. We ordered takeout from here and, unfortunately, the food was just ok. It lacked flavor and authenticity. We had the General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, lo mein, fried rice, green beans and crab rangoons. I can't believe they would serve the crab rangoons with no sauce. I enjoy their lunch specials. They have a nice variety, it comes out fresh, and they are generous with the serving. The cashier is friendly and quick to take my order. The chefs in the back are kind and cook everything in a timely manner. I appreciate that they offer complimentary hot tea. It's sitting on a counter and you help yourself. Sauces, napkins, paper plates, and cups are also on a counter. Plenty of indoor seating is available. People mostly place orders to go or call in for delivery. Their homemade hot sauce is delicious, definitely ask for some of that. Of the many times I've placed take out orders from here, they accidentally gave me the wrong dish once. When I gave them a call, they immediately took down my address and brought me over the right dish. That was very professional of them. I also appreciate that the restaurant is neat and clean. I had a huge HUGE craving for Chinese food. I normally order from EastGate or Asian Cafe but I wanted different options and I didn't want to wait long for the food to be delivered. I got wanton, crab Rangoon, egg roll, chicken mooshu and fried dumplings. Can you tell I had a HUGE craving for Chinese food? The wanton was crispy with one small sliver of meat inside when we opened up two of them. Nothing but crunch the hard kind. We tossed them out. We then went to the egg rolls that were filled with cabbage and ate those. They were ok but wish they were with more than just cabbage. We tried the dumplings next, which was more like bread (not like wanton wrapper or the dim sum dumpling dough), again BREAD with questionable meat inside. :( we split one dumpling - spit it out and threw all of them out. The Crab Rangoon was next up at bat; which was mostly made of melted cream cheese. I opened up the mooshu which looked great! There was a question if there was mushrooms in there or not. So I let my partner eat it as I was unsure even though I put no mushrooms on the order. He said it was good. It was super easy to order online! The delivery was very quick and prompt! The delivery driver was super nice! I would just alter the recipes they use for some of their foods. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, much rather for Chinese take out places but I feel this place deserved one. I went in today for take out, based on their advertisement of low sodium, no msg etc, I usually go to Kirin or Wong kok. I just have to say that this place beats them all!! The food was hot and fresh and packed perfectly with a plate fork napkin, abundance of soy sauce etc. I got Hunan chicken and was pleasantly surprised, what Chinese place puts fresh zucchini and asparagus in Chinese food???? Those are expensive ingredients and if you asked for them at Wong kok or Kirin cafe they charge $1 per item extra. Another plus was that I ordered it "spicy" they didn't just add more hot chilli paste but even added sliced FRESH jalapeños!! Food was good, worth the price, fresh tasting vegetables and chicken and good ratio of both. Another plus they don't charge $0.25 for the hot chilli oil like most other places. I don't mind paying it but just annoying like really 0.25 it's like McDonald charging per ketchup pack. Annoying and greedy. Another thing that helps is that the person on the phone speaks clear English and is able to take the order quickly. Back to the no msg, low sodium that they advertise, I felt like I could taste it in the food, although I love the greasy msg laden 10000mg sodium stuff other Chinese places serve, I felt like this just tasted more fresh and healthier. I normally don't bother to write this reviews although today I was truly disrespect insulted and told that my business wasn't necessary to not call back. I happened to order $25 dollars worth of food to be delivery. I gave my address and I was told there was no problem , proceeded to make my payment and successfully it was taken from my checking acct within seconds after. 3 mnts later I get a call back from a very RUDE & INSULTING women telling me that they just realized my location was way too far and they were going to cancel my order, after back and forth words I finally accepted to be cancel asking how fast I would get my money back which was taken within seconds , she said it would take about 1 week !! I told her that was unacceptable and since they already took my money I wanted my food. Rudely she told me that if I needed the money I could go over to the resto and pick it up my self ! We ordered egg rolls from this place and got spring rolls (the one on the left in the photo). When I went back in to tell them, they insisted it was an egg roll and that the wrapper didn't matter (not to mention the "egg roll" was basically empty). I went to the next place down the road and got egg rolls (the one on the right in the photo). If you want Chinese food around here, go to Kirin or Wong Kok. Kind of crazy how long this restaurant has been around. This has been one of my favorite places to go to as a kid. I have a lot of fond memories from here. It's nice to see that this place is still here. Food is great tasting, always left us feeling full and satisfied. It is always freshly cooked whenever we order from here! I'd recommend the soups (we loved the egg drop and the hot and sour soup). The egg foo young is also delicious!! Good vegetarian choices, there are meatless options for some of the meals. Great small business to support if you're looking for good food and fast service! Had the egg rolls, shrimp lo mein and pepper beef (subbed out for shrimp). Egg rolls were light and crispy and made with a thinner wrap which I prefer over the typical wrap which is thicker and harder. Lo mein was saucy and not as oily as other places. Szechuan shrimp is very good, very friendly service too. You can ask them to put more/less sauce and customize a little bit too.
