We have been ordering directly off Chin Chins web site for about 12+ years. Food was always good and resonably priced. Today we ordered for the last time. We have noticed things have been gradually going down hill, for example they always included like and peanuts with the pad thai. They recently did away with that. The general tsos has been hit or miss. Today, we decided it is time to move on after paying $60 for an order of dumplings (they were good), general tsos and pad thai to be delivered from their sit. Not Door Dash or Uber Eats but their site directly using their own delivery drivers. Always order the general tsos less mild and then pad thai normal. Today both were less spicy, the pad that was VERY bland. Have noticed every time we order the general tsos went from the container being compelely filled with chicken to being 3/4 and today even less and the price continues to go up, now bring $19. At this point, cost is up, flavor and quantity are down. Sorry Chin Chin but this past loyal customer is looking elsewhere and recommend at this point others do the same. read more

Food is always on point but if you're not going to have a deferred order ready on time, don't offer it. I'm sitting here waiting a full 30 mins after it was supposed to be ready. I have a long story with this restaurant we went there a few times and almost every time they have problems with the food they make the wrong food the last time I ordered food for me and my wife the simplest thing was combination fried rice and they make mistake I said no beef they gave me beef so I called complain the guy said come and make you another one I go there and I get an order of combination fried rice supposedly and Order of crispy shrim roll and I get home and I open it and I see on the chicken fried rice and I have different egg rolls so I call him again and I went there to replace it again and the owner have an attitude with me so I told him that I'm not coming back here anymore I was very upset with him and he starts threatening me and call me on the phone and saying foul language I will never go back to this place again terrible management and their food is not that good name of the manager (Q ) read more

We love Chin-Chin Cafe for what it is, budget friendly/ huge portions Americanized Chinese food. It has all the favorites, the dine-in happy hour menu is fantastic. Chin chin Used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant . Last few times they have really gone downhill. Their hot and sour soup was good years ago but now has very little flavor. $17.50 for an entre with very little beef at all. It was also swimming in oil. The other dishes lo mein the veggies were seriously over cooked and mushy but the noodles were good. Best part was the gyoza which were pretty tasty. This is not authentic Chinese food and is expensive. Sort of like a Pei Wei Restaurant where you choose your protein and sauce to add to your entree. We tried the Chin Chin chicken entree with carmelized soy glazed sauce for $15. It looked nothing like its picture in the menu. There should have been broccoli circling the chicken. We could only find 2 pieces of broccoli at the bottom of the container. The chicken was white meat and was dry. We also tried a spicy Thai soup called Tom Yum Soup with shrimp for $12. This hardly had any ingredients in it - sliced mushrooms (around 12) and 6 shrimps. What a ripoff! Go somewhere else like Falls Church, VA and Wheaton, MD for better Asian food. read more

Sadly I did not take any photos, BUT I do want to talk about my great experience from here. Chin-Chin Cafe's management and operations under COVID is excellent! They do not provide indoor dining, but in the situation where you do travel out to Chin-Chin to order and/or pick up your food, they use their tables as designated locations to pick up your food. You'll be given a number when you order. When your food is ready, all you have to do is go to the table with your number on it, sign your receipt there and stuff, and you're good to go. A lot of the employees will be on mobile order, picking up the phone calls, but they always have at least one person taking in-person orders! I was really impressed :) I would definitely come back here to order. read more

I wish I could give more stars. Depending on the day, you could get a kitchen crew who does it right, and your food is delicious...but that sure isn't every night. What is consistent there, is the poor customer service, slow prep and/or delivery time (you're always gonna wait), and the lack of caring about the poor effort from the register people. I've asked to speak to a manager (ok, call me Karen) because if so many screw ups, but none work there. They're either "asleep," or "not here right now," or "I tried calling them but they're busy." This place just makes it's $ and does not care about the happiness of its patrons. Today is a perfect example. Called in an order for a party platter of Fried Dumplings. Got my order read back, all good, went, picked it up, off to my kids bday (who loves dumplings). Opened it up, I got some fried sampler platter, which was the wrong order, horribly cooked (soggy, horrible grease taste), and less cake than is even advertised on the menu. In search for the local suburban sushi spot, WE FOUND IT! We were one of the few to dine in on a Saturday night (the take out service was pumping), but the ambiance and atmosphere was really nice! Chin Chin is the best Chinese food in this area. There aren't too many reliable and decently-priced Chinese food restaurants in this area, without having to go out to Eden or Chinatown. The prices are decent, for both lunch and dinner portions. I used to order the General Tso's chicken, but I think they changed chef(s) at some point, so it tastes different. However, ever since I first started visiting, the chicken fried rice has always been my go-to dish. The beef lo mein is just as delicious. I did try the sushi once, but wasn't a fan, but I did have it delivered; it would probably taste better when eating it fresh at the restaurant. I would definitely recommend the chicken fried rice and beef lo mein, especially with the chili oil. I would definitely suggest signing up for their mailing list to receive coupons. This place is one of our go-to's for Chinese food in Ashburn. The portions are huge and prep-time is reliable. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because the food is inconsistent. Most of the time it's great, but we've had a few meals in the last couple months where something was wrong. One time there were broken eggshells in the fried rice, another time we had undercooked shrimp, etc. To be clear, the food is GREAT nine out of ten times, but crunchy eggshells or concerns about undercooked shrimp can ruin a meal. read more

We ordered takeout here for lunch on a Saturday. Their food was delicious - some of the best takeout we've had in the area. I got the lunch combo pineapple fried rice and it was enough for 2 meals even while sharing a little with my husband. He got the chicken lo-mein noodles and had leftovers as well. Ordered drunken noodle and tom yum soup for take out. Food was hot when I got home. The soup was extremely salty. It tasted like Chinese soup with no lemongrass and way too much salt/soy sauce. The drunken noodle was sobering. I don't think they know that it's a Thai dish! It was simply a version of Chinese food with no heat at all. I told the lady on the phone that I want more spicy than their usual. What I got was just a bland dish. So sad since they are close to my home and I cannot go there anymore. read more

This is a nice spot . I was pleasantly surprised as to how decent the dining area appeared. The lighting was very appealing and unique. They appeared to have a good selection of adult beverages, but I drank water. The food was served on decent dinner plates and regular silverware. The ambience didn't give me that ordinary fast food Chinese hole in the wall restaurant feeling. The food was pretty good . I had mixed veggies and sesame chicken with white rice. The veggies were my favorite! The rice was good and normally I don't like restaurant white rice . I was given a substantial amount of sesame chicken. I don't eat a lot of meat, but if you're a meat lover you'll love it. I carried the rest with me for later. Overall I think this is a good spot to eat if you're into this type of food. We went on one of their busiest days of the year, Christmas Eve. Their business seems focused on carry out, and that night there was a line from the counter to the door. But we had come for sit down. The set up is very casual, you order at a counter ( luckily different from the takeout counter) and they give you a number and bring your items when they are up. The tables had happy hour drinks and appetizers posted, but you had to grab the full menu from the counter. You have to grab your own silverware, and glasses of water from a counter towards the back, near the hallway leading to the restrooms. On such a busy night it worked out well to realize we were in charge of refilling our own water glasses. The food arrived quickly and in massive portions. We enjoyed all our choices as classic and well crafted Chinese (American style) food, sesame chicken, chicken with cashews, wonton soup etc. All the dishes were plated with style and tasted delicious. The staff kept checking up, realized they had forgotten some of our appetizers, which they then promptly brought out, we didn't mind since our mains had arrived quickly. read more

I had a great conversation with Keyu from Chin Chin today and we discussed my recent visits and the changes that the restaurant plans to make. I'm happy to report that the owners of Chin Chin listen to their customers and respect our wishes. I also understand the struggle for every restaurant owner these days- finding servers who want to work, keeping servers when people are not going out to eat as much as they used to, and trying to keep the doors open in this crazy time. Chin Chin is constantly working to improve the experience and feedback from people like us is always helpful.
